I don't know what my favorite NW song is, but this is absolutely in the final list. Like you, I'm very new to NW & I can't believe they were around for almost 25 years and I didn't know that :-( Now I'm trying to make up for all the songs and concerts I've missed. I really enjoy your reactions because its so evident how much the music means to you. As a fellow Nightwish addict I can tell you, your tears have plenty of company! Its a good thing, its a cleansing. I knew of Nightwish early on, but my life was crazy, I wasn't really ready to hear them until recently. But now, its like a homecoming after a long journey. These songs and the community they create, seem to be leading us to a better place. A place we didn't even know we were looking for. I'm happy to share the ride with you, and all our NW family.
I love Marco's clean vocals, and he is an amazing musician. "Voice Of My Father" is another great song by him. I feel that the virtual venue for the concert in May should be renamed to The Islander's Rest. There is no Islander present without Marco, and it would be a fitting way of honouring him in his absence. Nobody should blame his stand in for not being Marco - nobody could be. It's gonna be tough enough finding a bassist who has a voice even slightly appropriate, or even a bassist AND male vocalist as two individual musicians. Those are big boots to fill. I can't see this without being amazed at the way he manages to walk out into the middle of that stadium all alone and joke around with the crowd while he sings, as if he were in his local pub. We all wish you well, Marco!

Jen did you ever check out Nightwish's cover to High Hopes? Marko and the boys killed it. If you have not watched it or reacted to it, you are missing Marko's best in my opinion. Was at End of an Era, Tarja was backstage, so the boys just killed it. You know the open letter was looming and all the boys knew the end of the show was it.
Still the most sad thing for me is, that I will never see Marko and Floor doing " Phantom of the Opera" on the tour. I`ve been hoping so hard for this to happen. I still hope, he might get bored and changes his Mind again.
If you've seen Wacken, Tampere, and Bruno's Aires, I think the only shows you're missing are Wishes to Eternity (which you have seen parts of), Wembley (which you have also seen most of), and Mexico City. Mexico City should be out on DVD, and clips are available, so that might be next on your list outside of Marco's solo album, and the Masked Singer Finland.

Being addicted Nightwish is not a bad thing :-). My journey with them began about the same time as yours. And I am totally jealous that you have tickets! I am new to your channel and I do not know if you have watched Marko and Floor perform Avi Maria. Marko's passion was overwhelming not only does Floor not upstage him, she provides some support through the performance. I have watched Tuomas's movie Imaginaryrum, same name as the album. Critics were lukewarm, but it is an independent film that tells a wonderful and compelling story with some very significant twists. I even suffer through the two-hour documentary which was not nearly as good as the movie, but you learn who these people really are and what kind of integrity they have. When you have been with the band for a while you are family, which is what Tuomas professes. The truth of that is easy to see. Jukka had to leave the band for medical reasons. I learned in the documentary that he still gets paid by the band. The only other band I know that have done this is Pink Floyd. They supported the original founder until he died in 1998. David Gilmore came in because Sid had spent 10 days on an acid trip in London and fried his brain to the point of permanent disability. Integrity, talent, creative abilities and demonstrating a rare level of humanity.
If you want to know what he says before verse. It’s ” If i play that verse, you will sing along?’ Audience replies, “yyyeaaah”. Then Marco says “OK, then we”ll do it. Just some transtalion help
There isn't one single bad back-n-forth song interaction between Marko and Floor, but for me the best one, and my favorite song of theirs, is Song of Myself, though now that I think of it, Ghost River is a close second.
Troy is actually a pretty decent vocalist. Tuomas is also a backup singer. I am sure they will be okay. AND there is the possibility that Henk Poort will be there because of his duet with Floor. I am sorry that this hurts you so much. I hope you can recover. :)

Marco is a great vocalist and instrumentalist, he was a trademark of the band with his special style and apperance, I'm sorry he's leaving but it's his decision and we have to respect it. I thought Tarja was irreplaceable but Floor appeared. I am a F1 fan and Ayrton Senna is still number 1 for me, the best. When Senna died in Imola in 1994 due to a brekdown on the F1 car, the whole F1 world was in shock and disbelief, sir Frank Williams the owner of the Williams team for which Senna also drove, said " No one is irreplaceable " . So a replacement will have to be found for Marco as well .
