Wow, what an incredible transformation! You really did an amazing job on that dresser. I love how you managed to preserve the look of much of the wood on the drawers, base and legs while still addressing the damage on the top and sides with paint. It's true that sometimes painting a bit of the wood can be necessary to cover up damage, and you've executed it beautifully here. Plus, you made a practical decision by avoiding the costly process of removing and replacing the veneer. Overall, fantastic work! Somebody is going to love having this dresser in their home.

Yooooo Sam!! Show me da money!! Say it again... show me da money!!🤣🤣🤣. Looking forward to da deets when you do share them. With that being said, I think I'm slowly gonna transition away from grass cutting/ landscaping. Been doing it as a second income for over 23 years now & I'm getting more tired after every Season. Always enjoyed woodworking & tinkering with stuff. Built some really cool projects in Wood Shop back in '92-'94. This is my style of projects I would do. Jazz up the wood that's in good shape & paint the jacked up parts. The guys that do these AWESOME restorations are beyond talented I just don't have the skills or patience for it. This is pretty much the style I would lean too. WOW!! That was a long a$$ comment!!🤣🙏 Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!

Hope things flowed out for you and you can take a new direction

I was a little skeptical about painting it at first. I thought it would have been better to replace the damaged veneer. But seeing it put together, it looks good. You kept enough of the wood showing to pull the whole thing together. And if you are going to paint something, black is a good color. It matches with everything, and it hides imperfections well. And the contrast between it and the wood on the front is a pretty good look. Normally, I would think of painting it as a negative, but you turned it into a positive instead.
