It’s criminal he isn’t in WWE Hall of Fame. What the heck are they waiting for get Ken in there. The most hated wrestler for years and he played the role perfect. Glad Ken is well and in good spirits! Please have a Part 2!
If there's ever a term that is called a shoot interview, this would be it. This is hands down one of the best shoot interviews, I have seen Hannibal. Thanks for interviewing Ken Patera.

If you get another interview with Ken I'd love to hear about wrestling Bruno Sammartino and when he wrestled him and later with his son David in tag team. Bruno came out of retirement for that. I believe that was 1985
If you do another one with Patera, please ask him about his friendship with Big John Studd, and the angle where him, Studd and Heenan cut Andre’s hair.
Grew up watching Ken Patera in WWF in the 80's and remember his world strongest man character. I can't believe he is already 77 years old now, wow. Time flies so fast.
One of the strongest men that ever lived. Too bad he's often not mentioned when talks about strongman history. His lifts are still impressive to this day. I can listen to him all day.
Hannibal, we need part 2 and 3, this was great! I love listening to Patera, he is a natural at story telling I could have listened to him all day. Please get him back for more!! There are so many more questions we could have asked.
I first saw Mr. Patera when he returned to the WWF in the early 80s; amazing performer. It's also amazing how he recalls events that occurred decades ago with such clarity and speed. When can we expect part 2 as you haven't even begun to scratch the surface on his career yet?!
My first memory of him was seeing him on that awesome Coliseum Video intro with the blonde hair doing the swinging full nelson.....Patera was awesome....
@@Deepizzaguy Sadly i was too young to see his prime.....I Became a fan in 86....Did youtube some of his stuff though and i'm glad i did.....He does a great shoot interview too.....
My all time favorite wrestler ... I wrestled pro for several years, was on a card that he wrestled on, and I got to tell him ... he was very surprised to hear that ... he is a very humble man!
One of my favorite heels growing up in the early 80's especially as Intercontinental Champion, his matches vs Pedro Morales, Bob Backlund, Pat Patterson among others were legendary! Followed him all through the AWA and WWF truly one of the all time greats who deserves his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame. The WWE HOF will NEVER mean anything until Ken Patera gets inducted.
@I Live In A 16-Bit Van Down By The 8-Bit River I guessed the babyface promos must be the more difficult promos. The Big Boss Man wasn't good at babyface promos either.
I agree this is a great job.. thanks so much Hannibal for this interview of one of my favourites back then.. Ken is an amazing man ..what a career he had
If guys like this was still in the wrestling I'd still be watching, it says a lot that I'll watch the interview but not any new product that wrestling puts out, it's not even close as to what it used to be
Got to see him live in Green Bay many times as a teenager. One of my favorite matches was a Texas Death Match against Superstar Billy Graham. Awesome stuff!
It's nice that Hannibal is getting a lot of different never before seen wrestlers on his channel. That indicates that Hannibal pays these wrestlers decent or good money to do these interviews.
Ken Pater A . A true world class athlete and a joy to see in the ring and in weight lifting competition. Worth every cent I paid to see him in the squared circle!!!!
Great video. As an 8yr old in the 70's. Patera was my favorite heel. As am 8yr old he was scary! Nobody swears better than Ken. However, one more ad, I'm gonna have to shut it down.
Excellent interview Devon. These are some great memories from the old AWA days. Saw them at the old Winnipeg arena and working out at the central YMCA in down town Wpg. Man those were the days...
Fantastic interview, Hannibal. I hope you can convince the Captain to set up a Part 2. Ken Patera should have been inducted into the WWE HOF years ago. He was one of the best heels of the 1970s-1980s.
I’ll be honest here , I always liked watching Ken wrestle in the wwf in the late 80,s but every shoot interview I’ve watched you came across as an arrogant person who didn’t want to relate any stories to the fans . This interview is amazing and I have totally changed my opinion of you Ken , well done Devon this is a class interview from the both of you , thank you
Travesty Ken Patera was not in the Hall of Fame. Guy is one of e best heels of all time! And he should have been WWWF world champion in 1979. A true legend!
There's a question in the live chat replay about why Patera wasn't at Wrestlemania 1. He was in a minimum security prison in New Richmond, WI, in 1985.
He was one of my favorites when he was a heel. It was amazing to see him toss 200 plus pound men around the ring like they were a sack of potatoes without any effort at all.
Terrific athlete. I always loved his shoot interviews. There was one R rated interview from many years ago where he ripped the WWF. It may not be online anymore..
I am 52 ... I am feeling the itch to get back into the gym one more time before I am too old for one more run ...not that I am planning on being what I was in my teens and twenties ...I have an old fat dad body now from 25 years of raising kids and paying bills ..but I am semi retired now with a few health problems ... I would like to see what I have left . It might be fumes in the tank but I would love to be sure before I put it away .
Harley Race and my GF 's dad were both sitting at a bar one night. They didn't know each other. A chick walks up and says" So you're a world champion?" Both of them turn around and say "Yep". They turned around and looked at each other
One of the greatest heels in wrestling who was a legit badass! Put Ken in his prime today and he'd stretch any of those posers in WWE today, hands down, and that's not an opinion, it's a fact! He was believable, tough as nails, great on the mic, and could draw like crazy! I miss these legends because they made wrestling an actual program you couldn't miss!
One hour is not enough to listen Ken Patera stories.
It’s criminal he isn’t in WWE Hall of Fame. What the heck are they waiting for get Ken in there. The most hated wrestler for years and he played the role perfect. Glad Ken is well and in good spirits! Please have a Part 2!
I don't think Vince wants to give him a live mic LOL
He is in the one that matters , CAC HOF .
Right! Amazing isn’t it? Every IC champ from the 80s are in except him. That’s odd!
