At first i thought 4k was on the left because of the image stabilizer on the right was very good... But i was wrong, 4k win for sure
In some light condition 5000 (on street at 4:00 - colors were more warm, more natural) was better and on the others 4000 (under bridge at 1:30 when comes from dark to light and 4:25).
Now i see 4000 had LB on Tungsten when 5000 was set to Auto. Anyway and overall because of lower price i would take 4000
The SJ4000 was too blueish on Auto, tungsten was the best option. I think it has changes with the newer firmwares and it is better now on Auto.

SJ4000 looks stronger: sharper lens, better light control [4:35 min.] night footage has more details too [6:48 min.] SJ5000 has better colors in the artificial lights [assuming both are set to auto]

hallo Karsten, ich habe diese Woche die SJCAM 5000 wifi bekommen.....habe gleich ein paar Probeaufnahmen (Video+Foto) gemacht....leider ist der Fisheye effekt sehr stark, sowohl bei Video und auch Bildern....meine Frage, kann man da was an der Cam einstellen, oder muss man dann beim Bearbeiten alles korrigieren?

+Sowarich Das geht leider nur via Nachbearbeitung. Damit sollte man rechnen, wenn man eine Action Cam kauft ;) Manche Cams haben zwar eine interne Korrektur, jedoch wird diese nur über den Zoom realisiert.
Habe mir beide gekauft 4000 und 5000 ist echt genial kommt auch an die GoPro dran. Für unsere Zwecke reicht das vollkommen.
+Clip Monkeys Reicht für die meisten Freizeitaktivitäten. Für das Geld voll in Ordnung.

Hi, Danke für deine Tests. Frage Akkulaufzeit. Wenn ich richtig gesehen habe, hat die 4000 einen kleineres Display. Hat das Auswirkungen auf die Laufzeit? Welche maximale Laufzeit hast du bisher hinbekommen bei normal HD Video ohne Wifi?
Wie fummelig ist das Einschalten, wenn man das Ding auf dem Helm hat und die Kamera daher nicht ansehen kann? Reicht da eine Taste, um in Aufnahmebereitschaft zu gehen? Gibt es ein akustisches oder sogar ein Vibrationssignal, dass die Cam auch wirklich läuft. Ich war schon auf vielen Mudruns mit Helmcam unterwegs und wegen der begrenzten Akkulaufzeit immer wiichtig zwischen den Hindernissen die Kamera ab und dann aber auch sich wieder anzuschalten.
Wie siehts mit dem Ton aus. Ich las schon eher schlecht. Hättest du da Empfehlungen im Segment bis 200€. Einigermaßen Ton, lange Laufzeit, sicheres An- und Abschalten?
Hi. Generell schaffst Du 60-90 Minuten Aufnahmezeit, je nachdem, wie oft Du sie bedienst. Ein Feedback beim Einschalten oder Starten der Aufnahme bekommst Du leider nicht.Ich war auch mit der SJ4000 beim Tough Mudder, davon gibt es hier auch ein Video. Klappt an sich ganz gut, wenn man seine Cam kennt.
Bald gibt es die SJ7 Star von SJCAM. Bin gespannt, was die kann. Kostet unter 200€.

Im little confuse, I watch more and more videos and I don't know what is best quality/price choice. I record much of snowmobiling and different forest trips. What is best choose, I want wifi model, sj4000wifi, sj5000wifi, sj5000+ or sj5000x?
So the 5000 looks more wobbly. Could it be that the mountings are different or the actual cams are different?
Apart from that, 5000 colours are much better.

4k seem to have a dull yellowish cast, 5k seems more true to the colors. Awesome video.
But that what is the true color just the maker known. In the begining i saw that the left side more blue than the real, but nicer. But on half the video the right more blue than the real, and the cinnamon real color is the right too i think. But the blockiness is because youtube convert this video, or the original such this?
Curious as to how you got EXACTLY the same footage from both cameras. I mean it's copy exact, the birds and all. The cameras would have had to have been mounted in the exact same position to accomplish that no? Or how was this done?
Yes, the cameras are mounted on a split mount. This is the only way you can get a real comparison.

3,5MP hat der Sensor, bis zu 12MP werden interpoliert.
Jeder sieht das Bild anders, aber ich sehe den Rotstich auch. Kann aber leicht korrigiert werden - spätestens am PC.

The sj5000 has true color but the sj4000 seems to be more stable and not as jumpy as the other.

Also aus meiner Sicht ist die SJ 4000 besser als die 5000. Sowohl die Bildstabilisierung als auch die Bildqualität ist besser, was man sehr gut bei sehen kann

Were the settings on both the same? Not much difference in clarity, but the colours seem more natural from the 5000. The light sensor seems to work ok when you lift them both into the sun and then down. Then at night the 4000 has more detail, but looks like it has a filter on...

ruddo1970 In my opinion it is or was. On Auto it is changing too often and it is very blueish. Maybe with the latest FW it is better now.
Ich stehe vor der Entscheidung Sjcam SJ4000 oder SJ6000. Welche würdest du mir empfehlen ? Welche hat die bessere Bildqualität ? Lohnt es sich mehr Geld auszugeben für eine SJ5000 (+), GoPro Hero 3,4, ? Oder empfiehlst du mir eine komplett andere Action Cam ? Ich brauche die Kamera um Luftaufnahmen mit einem Quadrocopter oder Flugzeug zu machen.

Die SJ6000 empfehle ich gar nicht. Da steht kein Name hinter, kein Support.
Bei der GoPro hast Du Qualität, ein Top Bild und eine riesige Community. Wenn Du nicht auf's Geld schauen musst, dann kauf dir eine GoPro. Sollte es jedoch gut und günstig sein, dann greif zur SJCAM oder Mobius.
GoPro ist halt schon ne menge Geld. Welche SJCAM empfiehlst du ?
Das meiste Potential bietet die SJ5000+ (Plus). Da kannst Du auch mal Slow Motions machen, der Bildstabilisator funktioniert besser, als bei den anderen. Ist aber auch die Teuerste.
Die SJ4000 ist aber noch immer eine gute Cam.
Lukas Borg kommt auch immer drauf an was Du machen willst. Das sind Action Cams, da muss man auch mal damit rechnen so eine Kamera zu schrotten. Wer das nötige Kleingeld hat, sollte zu GoPro greifen, dafür gibt es alles mögliche. Wer damit rechnet das die Kamera zu Bruch gehen kann, sollte zur SJCAM greifen.

cécilia Pereira If I understand you right, you are asking for which I would prefer. The SJ4000 is good for its price. But if the price doesn't matter I would go with the SJ5000.

Shariq Zaheer I changed them to tungsten I think, because on auto it was blueish. Heard about it that it changed a bit, that it's not so blueish anymore.

Was hast Du denn für ein Budget? Wenn Du so wenig wie möglich ausgeben möchtest und die Aufnahmen ausreichend gut sein sollen, dann ist die SJ4000 keine schlechte Wahl.

it appears that the sj4000 doesn't adjust for light temperature, but that gives the videos a more realistic look.

Mitsuhashi Bungo Non of them can take pictures while filming. There is no possibility, with which button you should do it? Never heard of it. Just tested it and it's not working at all ;)

MetropolitanMonkey starting with Version V1.3 the SJ5000+ can take photos during recording, but the resolution is the same as your selected video resolution. I also saw that in a couple of video reviews, but to be honest I don`t remember which one.
SJCOM company replayed me then they answer only SJ 5000 plus can take a photo while taking movie. but I don't have it so I don't know how... I will buy SJ5000 wifi. It seems the lens is better than SJ5000 plus. Thank you.

Great comparison video. I still stick to my SJ4000...i use it mostly underwater, and the colours of the sj4000 are great underwater. Please check my channel "mannausdemmeer " for many SJ4000 underwater test videos...

Ich habe mir jetzt auch die SJ5000 bei Amazon gekauft.
Ich selber möchte sie für alles mögliche, reiten, Gassi gehen, schwimmen und und und. Mein Freund würde sie fürs Motorrad fahren benutzen.

Eigentlich musst Du nichts beachten. Speicherkarte rein und losfilmen. Sollte Dir das Bild zu hell/dunkel sein, dann stellst Du es in den Einstellungen so ein, wie es Dir passt. Wenn Du das Datum nicht im Bild haben willst, vorher ausstellen. Ansonsten noch im Blog lesen und einfach ausprobieren :)
