I have a video on types of yarn. Maybe that would help you. Basically it’s getting the right epi for the yarn you are using. I use 10 epi for sport weight, 9 or 8 for worsted weight and 6 for bulky. Then you always need to beat it down good and hard.
OK, thanks for your help. As a new person, I find the classification system for yarn confusing. There are numbering systems like 4/2, different materials like wool, cotton, linen, warp vs weft yarns. You do such a good job explaining things.
Hummmm. I’ve thought about that. However there’s a lot of variations of twill and you could spend a lifetime studying them. You can do any twill weave on a cactus flower loom. I’ll give it more thought and see what I can come up with. Thanks for your input.
So useful, thank you. I like how you took your time to explain and show what you are doing. Photography was very easy to see what you were doing.
You're very welcome! Happy weaving.

At mark 10:55, when you are increasing the light gray, is the red and increased portion of gray in the same shed? If so, how do you cover the lice?
They are in the same shed for a short distance. If you beat it down hard the warp won’t show.
