    Krytox 205g0: the standard lube used to tame rattling/ticking in stabilizers in gaps where different parts touch one another. It's a fine choice if the sides of either stabilized keycaps was rattle and tick-free.

    Pump redundancy in the AIO cooler is a long overdue idea. It’s going to add to the price, but that’s still cheap insurance for your whole rig.

    • @xxxmtb
      @xxxmtb 7 месяцев назад

      Completely unnecessary, the failure rate is so low, and even if it does fail the cpu just thermal throttles and shuts down eventually

      Copied from my reply above:
      "What has happened to me a couple times now is: a liquid cooling pump fails, the CPU overheats, PC forced shutdown occurs. You boot up again, not knowing the pump failed, and due to residual heat the CPU overheats faster, this time causing a forced shutdown during windows bootup, corrupting the OS and causing a really big problem. Dual pumps would at least make that less likely to happen."
      This is why I like the dual pumps. I appreciate a healthy skepticism for, well, just about everything on the internet, but I do try my best to be transparent and to provide as much info as I can about the products without making it a sales pitch. Also @OldBuford, suggesting that I "go along with the agenda" of the brands I cover is a slight whether you say it is or not.

    • @cgraham6
      @cgraham6 7 месяцев назад

      @@paulshardwareThanks for the input, Paul. Anyone who has watched you at all knows you've always used air cooling when possible because of its reliability over AIOs. Your support of dual-pump AIOs shouldn't come off as disingenuous to anyone.

    I need an numpad because I work on my home pc as well as play but I like the concept of the Hyte Keeb. Those roller bars could be useful. I'd love to replace those plastic roll caps with a knurled metal set too. As for the AIO cooler, it looks fancy and I like the redundant pump but I've never had a pump fail on my air coolers...

      @whammy761 7 месяцев назад +1

      @Jonathan-Roden I agree, but also imagine that would be very complicated if not impossible. AIO's are supposed to be closed loops for ease of use. If there's a way to change the pump, air would likely be introduced. That said, I'm no engineer.

    The AIO is interesting, with the dual pump... but I'd like one without the phone attached to the CPU cooler. Perhaps that'd knock a nice chunk of change off the price tag? Otherwise, it's well outside my budget, and I'll just stick with the air cooler I have now.
    The keyboard is kinda cool. The clear case is interesting, particularly if I'm trying to make the space around my computer brighter. With the lighting effects, it'd be really cool to see them get their lighting integrated with games, much like what Corsair and Razer have done in games like Diablo 3 and 4. However, the rubber grips on the rollers (above the media keys) look too easy to slide off, and my cat would definitely have some fun with them. On top of that, I can see exactly zero scenarios where I'd want a keyboard with the number pad omitted. My only fear is they'll be trying to sell these too at an obnoxiously high price. If that's the case, I'll just continue giving money to Corsair.
    All in all, it all looks interesting, but much like their other products, seems well out-of-reach for those of us on a budget.

    But is it true redundancy, as in only one pump operates at any one time and the secondary only engages if the other has an issue? Or do both operate at the same time, all the time? Cos if so aren't they just going to age and wear at the same rate and so defeating the purpose of the redundancy aspect? Won't rate of failure chance remain the same?
    To me, it sounds more like they are simply trying to find a way around the AIO patent that Asetek has.

    Is that the front of the fans, they have a spiral cage on the front like you would normally have on the back? It looks like all the fans are wrong way around. The fan hubs and cage and the keyboard look very plasticy and cheap to me. Also, at 1:21 you can hear the blades hitting the frame or cage, at least to my ear it sounds like that. I also wish all these brands would stop coming up with their propriatary RGB software and locking people into their ecosystem. At least make it open source, so it can be implemented together with other systems through software like OpenRG or SignalRGB. It's come to the point where you can no longer shop for optimal components, but they have to match or work within a specific ecosystem, have the right connectors, work with the right software and THEN you can make a pick from a limited selection. I thoroughly dislike it.

    NGL it looks tacky as hell. Y40 performed terribly for me thermal wise with a 4090 and 13900KS. Moved on the h6 flow far better. Better build quality as well. Flimsy ass cases without the front glass

    I find Hyte as manufacturers as boring as can be.

    Hyte give us options without your RGBs. TBH, I'm already sick of RGB.

    When you thought one pump chumps werent enough, now you have Two pump wumps. Dual AIO pump stuff i wonder if there is again a Patent thing that is going to fuck over AIO design again. The curse of those patents really screw up new better designs :(

      yeah the asetek patent is outrageous, it's not about their pump design, or their special way to couple them. No it's basically "if you put a pump on top of your block, you owe us money".
      But I don't blame the company, I blame the administration in charge of delivering patents, they are the one who accepted it
