Today on Modern Builds, I'm building and prototyping a picnic table with only 90 degree angles, unlike a traditional A-frame outdoor table. I think it made for a more modern and unique look. Plans for everything will be in my website article linked below.

the material list and cut list here is just perfect. I just built one yesterday and it took me 5 hours tops. now i just need to stain it and add umbrella in the middle...thank you for this info...
Love this book! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxpCNxqmAkyjN6NPx1fyB7QiEFWyO5mUWL it is simply one-of-a-kind! I really love it, because karah explained all tools required to have the job done, not mentioning the fabulous diy pallets ideas. I'm pretty sure this will be a fresh start in my new endeavour. Amazon was great, they delivered on time. Thank you!
Just finished my picnic table today. Considering this is my second project I've worked on , it came out great. Thanks for sharing your video. I did love share benches, I got that info from. Simply Mindy!
Pinic table
9 2x6x8 cut to 72"
4 2x6x6 cut to 56"
the remaining pics from the 96" are 24"
Cut the 24" to 4-18" and 4-20"
you have 1 extra piece.
Get 6 2x4x6 no cuts. Cut for bottom support
1 box of construction screws 2 1/2 or 2 3/4
Killing it Mike. Love the new legs transferring the weight to the wood and not on the screws!
Thank you 🙏 for the precious video
I will make this for my 4 year old 's birthday. Absolutely stunning. Thank you.
Just built this today. Very happy with it - cheers
Thank you so much,, I am from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
Nice functional picnic table; I was looking for a table to build for my daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandsons and your table won out by a land-side, so I'll be building this one for my family, thanks!
Well done. I like it differently than any other. I only lack equipment because I want it a lot. Best wishes.🇵🇱
Thanks! I'm a disabled war veteran and this looks to be easy on my back and legs!!
You killed this dude! Seriously considering this for my back patio!
Go for it dude! tag me in a picture if you do, I'd love to see it
And, there you have it. Cool picnic table 👍🏻
I built one. Thanks for the video

Looks awesome.

Could be a cool project to try a Shou Sugi Ban finish on? Probably a little too time intensive lol. Really dig the design though Mike. Keep it coming, sir.
I want this for the camp so bad. Gonna download those plans and see what I can do for it.

Modern Swag and Chic Builds! Love it 😍
another great project Mike!! keep up the great work
Awesome project my brother I hit the BELL so I can watch all your videos OK bro good job :)
That is a great design, way better than a boring A frame. Dude the keto diet is working.
I had always built picnic tables with an A style leg, like most people, I like this look better.
Nice work.
Thanks!!
Could you make some matching "adirondack" style lawn chairs with a similar modern feel? Love your channel, keep up the great work!
Ana white has a great modern Adirondack chair
Nice PROJECT and Nice WRANGLER JEANS
This is fantastic!! Keep up the good work dude!
Great video!
Thanks!!
Looks good! I think you could have left the original legs and added the extra ones as well
Yes that’s a good idea, it will add to it’s stability.
Mike! I love your channel and you've given me some major inspo- Im actually working on converting a sprinter van into a camper, now im a little lady and am trying to figure out how I can make a bed that folds into a sofa thats simple. any ideas?
where you ended up putting a brace under the top in the center I used two and put them 3 inches apart. That would allow for an umbrella hole and the umbrella to be centered / With your center brace you block it from being done center.
I love this - very cool
Also would love to see other videos of your "prototypes" - or build as you go kind of things
And because of this brilliant design you earned yourself a new subscriber my friend , great job Mike.
Great project Mike! I have to say the threads are definitely not your style but I respect the hustle homie. Keep doing your thing.
Nice design. On the cutting list can identify all cuts except the "2x4x49" 2". What are these cuts used for? Thanks Patrick
"Uploading during the eclipse? It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em" lol Great vid Mike!!
nice video
Nice simple vids👍
cool one
Genial very good
I made this table is was so easy little tools needed I did not remove the inside legs it's so strong.im a big guy best table ever good idea .A1
Hi Mike,, as you make the 90° picnic table, would you kindly tell us the measurements of what the boards are and the length they are to be when you cut them...???
Super cool table great job but could you make an 8-person Square picnic table where two people could sit on each of the four sides instead of three people sitting on only two sides? I really want some good plans for a big four-sided Square picnic table where 8 people could sit comfortably and the table is super sturdy as well thanks.
I removed the center piece and created a ice tray. Added a hole for the umbrella.
I can look at those two by sixes and see that it's not pressure treated... They're only framing materials that means indoor-only.. I guess you can throw a couple coats of primer and then paint or even stain!! But you would have to continue painting not to mention scraping paint that pops up!!!! Once a year.... But all-in-all nice tables plain and simple!!
The only thing I would add is some kind of base around the legs, so the surface of contact increases. That makes it possible to use the bench on soft soild or grass
Also means that it will rock if the surface it sits upon is not completely flat
Thats true. it has it pros and cons
Could have connected the two legs with a longer horizontal runner as a base to keep it steady. I liked the original look
Hey what's up Mike, can't ya'll do like 2 podcast a day ?😂😂
Haha!
How many 2x6’s and 2x4’s did you use for this?. What were their lengths? your website doesn't specify that. thanks
Yes that would be helpful
The instructions are laughable.

NeesieDoesIT I checked the post on his website and it wasn’t there either. Darn.

Can you do a L shaped desk with storage? A few drawers maybe
Many desks resemble a lower case "L".
