I have been learning this piece for Covid lockdown, and you have given me inspiration to progress with it. I am well short of a 1000 hours on it, but I will get there. Thank you for a well performed piece. Love your work.
Although I heard this music 🎶 the first time but I think your determination and perseverance are inspiring. Wow, 1,000 hours of practice, you must be a very patience lady, and truly your spirit of learning is outstanding and well-deserving of praise. Keep it up! 👍👍👍👏👏👏
It may sound weird, but it's kind of refreshing to see a person practicing like this, rather than someone who has already mastered the piece. It makes it more relatable. Kind of like "there are others struggling like you. You can do it"
Hello Emily, well done! This composition is a sensitive and fragile piece, which hides its high degree of difficulty from those who only listen to it. The tempo changes (66BPM tot 88BPM and also a "mazurka-tempo"), the trills, and at the end the ascending and descending scales; this makes it a very difficult pianopiece. At this moment I practice 1 hour a day a pianopiece composed by Beethoven. I hope I get the same result after 1000 hours of practice as you! Best regards, Dirk
@@demooisteNAAM Inderdaad!!
In passages such as 0:22 rasing your hand the way you do is pointless. As you then readjust when you land. The idea is as the hand lands you play the note to allow 'emotional momentum' to continue. If you are landing and going flat to then adjust and then play you might as well slight the hand to the right. Hope that helps aid you in your piano journey. I work as a concert pianist so happy to share the advice ☺️
Fantastic! How many hours do you practise per day? Do you have a teacher? Or are you self taught? I'm in the middle of learning Rachmaninov's Prelude in C# Minor. Not easy! Cheers, Vic
Aww so nice of you - thanks for stopping in! I have a teacher I do lessons with for an hour a week, and other than that I rely a lot on Graham Fitch - both his RUclips videos and his books, tonebase lectures, Josh Wright videos. Arthur Neuhaus and Gyorgy Sander’s books are also great. And just listening! Even reading bios of composers. I also do a lot of technique practice, which you really need a teacher for. I have so much to learn and it’s so hard, but itty bitty progress :)
From the info she provided (1 year and 9 months since the beginning), it's up to roughly 11 hours per week on average. I'm practicing only 6h/week or so and wonder how long will it take to play like that.
@@-.a hahahahaha - I know the feeling ! Long live we , the untalented but passionate and hardworking, in extremis, avocational pianists of the world !!!!
Inspiring, and beautiful. Would have been really interesting to see this at 100 hours, 250, 500. Its really motivating to be able to see the improvement.
It sounds very nice! I play this one as well, I don’t know which is the best way to practice this (probably isn’t an answer to that). One useful thing I found was to practice the Nocturne with no pedal at all, it forces you to concentrate on your fingers for the legato and the sound. I’m not suggesting you perform like this (I don’t think anyone owns the answer to that), it’s just a practising method I found useful
@@emilyhartman8255 Ah you play very well, if I can give a little suggestion, I see you're struggling with the last part with the scales, try to put more time in techniques like scales and less time in practising the whole piece and you're playing will become so much better. That's atleast what helped for me.
Good job, but Your attention is too much on the left hand. I can suggest to study like this: right hand + left hand only central part (means wirhout the lowest note) and then right hand + only the lowest (harmonic bass) od the left hand. Lastly sing the notes of the right hand (the name of the notes) while playing the left hand. You will see a lot of improvement.
There is a lack of expression, sensitivity and agility for this beautiful Nocturnal. It's always good to upload videos, not everyone should like it , but don't worry, if you like it is enough

surely not 1000 on one piece though? isn't the video poster talking about 1000 hours on piano itself?
@@megumi_0 no, definitely not 1000 on one piece alone
Beautiful interpretation. !!!
Good, subtle rubato, good tempo choice and relaxed hands! Very well!

Just passed a kilohour of practice myself. You must be putting in a lot of hours each day! Well done! You deserve more subs.

I learned this piece a few years back and it’s one of my favorite nocturnes. It is truly beautiful. :> great playing :D

Hi. I bought a digital yamaha at the beginning of last year. Do you have a Hanon book of dexterity exercises. And get some books on practicing scales.
Keep this up no one ever says i wish i had practiced less , i enjoyed your playing
Well done! Respect👍😉
SO WONDERFUL!

Wrong chord at 0:08 ?

No - total practice hours in life at piano…

A great achievement after only 1000 hours. I am wondering if the piano was your first instrument or you already played something before
Salut soit ma chopine !!!
BEAUTIFUL!! Emily, are those 1000 hours the total of your study, or had you begun studying earlier? With a teacher?
She says "1000 hours practice since beginning piano in Nov 2018"
.❤👍❤👍

Emily, what piano are you playing?
1000 hours mean almost 15 hour per day and continuing this routing per week for two month and 2 week
It's logical? 😑

oh no
Looks like a b2 Yamaha, sounds like your hammers need needled.
ig de la minita
If you practiced 40 hours a day, it would take you 25 days
Des notes oubliées et des fausses notes. Bravo quand même.
WTF?????? 1000 hours? I ve did op.9 n.8 Scriabin in 1 week
is this a joke
whats so hard here
You Made some mistakes and for 1000 hohes it isn't good. Sorry but this is my opinion.
so little progress taking into account that you practiced 1000 hours, there is no melody, you are playing dry
1000 hours.??? There is no reason a very average piano player can't learn this in about 15 hours of practice
in one thousand hours a blind kid could learn to play impromptu fantasie perfectly, nevertheless quite impressive 👏👏
Can you not play at night in apartment building? Common sense
man in many areas of the world at 4pm there is night lol. And I think playing from 4 to 8-9pm is fine for you in apartment?
