I just do not know how all the people just walk straight by without stopping to listen to this fabulous jazz band . I would love to see them anyway thanks from England.
I don’t know how they get that rhythm. Just great. All of it. I listen to this group 99.9% of the time. They just can’t be beat for jazz music. ❗️👌🏻💃🕺🏼
Fine old tune, excellent arrangement. Shaye is in fine fettle. But I rarely see a comment shouting out Barnabas’ trombone work. That man is such an excellent collaborator, whether with the front line or the strings. Up there with Teagarden. I so love this band.
Many thanks, Randy. In case anyone needs the info, this was composed by Williams and Jackson; and recorded by the Clarence Williams Jazz Kings in 1929.
They must rehearse to be able to get this standard of perfection in tempo and unison whilst giving the impression of improvising. This must be one of their very best performances. What a repertoire. Todd's solo was absolutely delightful. And it's nice to see Jason back.
They are improvising. If you look at different videos of the same songs, you will see that the structure is the same, but not the notes. They are improvised, other than the melody.
Gee THANK YOU ! I'm a serious TS fan one week out from back surgery (L5-S1), with a week more of rehab so catching this is a great thing before turning in. I have appreciated all your video work, learned a lot, got to know 'Pops", and chased them up in Maine & NY at the end of Summer to finally hear them live at four gigs. Terrific music, hard working, good folks. Tomorrow I'll check out those recent 'Shake em Up' videos.
Je ne me lasse pas d'écouter et de réécouter cet excellent orchestre. J'espère qu'ils reviendront bientôt en France où, je le sais, ils sont toujours très bien accueillis...
Nobody has commented on one of Tuba Skinny's distinctive appeals: their humor. This is a funny tune, funny in a bouncy, upbeat way. Some Kinda Shake makes us grin. And then there are all the sly jokes in the sex songs, like What's the Matter With the Mill? We probably appreciate the humor of Tuba Skinny without noticing it by that name.
Such beautiful music and there are people passing by without stopping to listen. They must be tone-deaf and completely indifferent to the musicians that are offering free Jazz music. I, myself, would listen to every note as it enriches my life.
Many thanks for this gay spring or summer number. The players must rehearse at least twice after committing the songs to where they could play their parts blindfolded. Plus, the bandleader, Shaye, has shown continuously how proper habits produce professional results. These folks could play most places anytime.
What a fan base!! Over 24 posts and 250 thumbs in a day. THANK YOU, OP! Shaye seems especially busy and jolly on this one. What is she doing at 0:40? Tuning slide, spit valve?? And then stenography. What did the cl do at 2:40? It tickled Shaye. I've often noticed that Shaye often waits til the last second to reach for her mute. Her only imperfection, perhaps.
If I had to walk by this on my way to work every day I'd never be on time
I just do not know how all the people just walk straight by without stopping to listen to this fabulous jazz band . I would love to see them anyway thanks from England.
I'm CONSTANTLY amazed at how MANY of these old classics ALL of them know

The best band in the land.
These Days the Best Band on Earth,God must have sent these amazing Musos as a Gift
Shaye is one terrific cornet player
Shaye is also an Incredible Manager/Conductor while the Band is playing, Subtle clues and gestures.
Tuba Skinny, for me the best traditional Dixieland Band from New Orleans (or from the world ??) with the famous Shaye Cohn 👏👏🎺🎺🇩🇪❤️🇺🇸❗️
*New Orleans Jazz
Listening to you guys makes me feel what life is all about. Thank you Tuba Skinny!
So refreshing! Don’t know how they keep coming up with and memorizing so many tunes and playing them so very well! This band never ceases to amaze!
you got Shaye to thank for that, if you were to cut Shaye, she would bleed talent.
I think I see some charts!
@@ToddSmith1 But they aren't using them much. The music is in their minds.
Oh the memories of Al Hirt and Pete Fountain. These kids are keeping it alive.
And Barber,Littleton,Bilk, and Ball from the early 60s

Many thanks, Randy. In case anyone needs the info, this was composed by Williams and Jackson; and recorded by the Clarence Williams Jazz Kings in 1929.

Ну, люблю я этих ребят! Well, I do adore these guys!

Шэй Кон невероятная женщина!
Love anything they play and thank you for sharing!!!!!
She is great, watch her lead this group is awesome.
Tell you something, this tune's Got Me...
Is this music 90 years old? It is so much elegant and gentle in TS hands!!!
Nice Tuba work, Todd!
Gosto bastante de ouvir o som da tuba nesta banda.
Such beautiful music and there are people passing by without stopping to listen. They must be tone-deaf and completely indifferent to the musicians that are offering free Jazz music. I, myself, would listen to every note as it enriches my life.
Harmonia Fantástica!!!
Good to see Jason back !!
Great, love the ending.

@@iLLuSiiioNz ..Shaye.
Shaye you are too much
Serve un impresario che li porti in giro per tutto il mondo
Hai ragione (you're right), Enrico! TS is an unique example among traditional jazz bands in the world: they deserve much more!!!
Tuba Skinny 짱"~^^.
shaeye is beatiful
How do dey do dat? I jus lov dis music
✡
I hope Shaye never changes her Coronet. It feel's sentimental to me to see her with it. Strange I know, It's a Tuba Skinny love thing I guess. :)
Excellent !!
❤️❤️❤️
Always nice.
Lots of people in jackets and coats. Must be 65 degrees.
It was 55 during daylight.
This sounds nothing like Municipal Waste but it makes sense because they're two completely different types of music. Shiny object!!
Great t bone solo at 1/16.
Gregory (guitar, hat), if I am in New Orleans then you have from me a bottle of very good Bosman-Green beer from my city of Szczecin!
When Covid is ...well over if we Orleans is still above water, I’ll be there to see TS , Erika or no...
so now James Pankow is the second best trombone player I've ever heard. granted, they are the only two...
3:41,42. Funny reed buzz

"preservation", simply put.
Who has written the tune ? Were can I find the chords ?
!!!
This is my favourite number, can't find it on a CD.Maybe next time.Hint!Hint!
…do you ever go hungry having to pass the hat?…
Do ya'll each take a shot of rum before you start playing?
…orrr,…is it there just for effect?…u kno, just in keeping with the roots of the genre…
i suggest abel ferreira do brasil
Go todd go 3:58 5:14
Good ... OK!
Two guitar players but never a guitar solo in any video!
Great band playing those traditional jazztunes, what irritates me every time is to see blind people walking in front of the fixed camera. Just stupid!
Couldn't enjoy cos I was too busy profiling the dude with the white bag in the background/foreground/shiftyground.
