Hey, just wanted to let you know my gratefulness of you putting together this video and accompanying info for this modification, it's definitely a great quality of life mod to keep these beautiful speakers out of landfills. Followed all of the instructions and worked like a charm. I personally spliced the audio in cables through the input plug by the board so that I could try and retain the original AUX (I have a Ipod that goes hand in hand with this generation of SoundsSticks) and I'm happy to say it both audio inputs work now! One modification I personally do is to black out the LED lights both on the Bluetooth board and the SoundSticks because at night the flash blue lights are much too obnoxious! Thanks again for the tutorial!
Sadly the very next day I took it apart one more time to tape over the flashing blue light of the Bluetooth transmitter and somehow nuked something in the power supply for the audio side. For shame. But it was my mistake. Maybe sloppy soldering on my part.
@@NYKWHY If you still have them, follow the trace to see what needs replacing, if its the power supply its self, you can easy modify to allow for a laptop style charger to be used.
Thanks for your video, my nephew was putting some paper into my Soundstick III mainbody. I have to open it to clean those rubbish, but I don't know how to pick screws out, you gave me a nice idea with scissor.
After ordering all the parts, I realized that I have the original Soundsticks. It looks like your mod would still work, but will be a little different. I would need to find the R/L/G connection after the DAC (I think) and then a similar power connection to power the BT receiver.

Love the video, please can you give a small wiring diagram for the 0.1uf and call.01?
My problem is the 2 prong junction to the speakers. There's a short in there. Can I cut that off too? Seen at 3:11 above.
I think I have the SAME problem where I get sound from only ONE side!!
just got an old wired version. these sound great but miss the bluetooth. thanks i will give it a try!!
Don’t try it if you’re not a geek
You can simply buy an aux-to-Bluetooth adapter
could you plug a 3.5 jack to bluetooth adapter instead?
I want to make Soundstick 3 to a wireless speaker is that ok too ?

I think that by combining your information with the information here: wiki.logre.eu/index.php/Soundsticks_USB_vers_jack I can make it work. Thanks.
@@rustylingenfelter5756 In this version, you can use + 5V from USB without 78L05.

Great mod! Can you please share the link for the capacitors? The yellow one in the image you have added.

Can you pl send me the link where to get the 78L05 ? I like your video very much.
