times change everything.... Weve been here in Alona VLogging for over a year now and it has changed in every way since we got here. We just did an episode on this exact same vibe and energy. Anah Manah. It happens. Tagay
I was back in Bohol in May this year having previously been in early 2019. Whilst there were some tourists around, it was still fairly quiet. It's beautiful there so anyone watching this video that hasn't been there, I recommend Bohol. There are some great tours to see the Tarsier Monkeys, historical areas of Bohol, Chocolate Hills and a beautiful lunch cruise on the Lombok River. Both times I've stayed at the Be Grand Hotel, it's really nice with its own pool and beach etc. So George and Lucy take Koda to see the Tarsier monkeys!
Hello, I just got the chance to see some of your videos in the Philippine beaches. I'm from the Philippines originally and have never gone to Cebu in any beaches. I have been in Panglao once with work colleagues for team building. Now living in New Zealand.
Hello from Batangas! Koda is so smart and cute little boy. Filipinos are very fond of cute little babies especially foreigners with blue or green eyes and me is one of those! Thank you for your vlogs! It’s so nice to watch them! More to come!🥰🥰🥰
Next time you may want to try to go to Anda instead. It's unspoiled, raw and most of all, not crowded but as beautiful if not, even more beautiful than Panglao.
I do really like Lucy's accent so cute like hearing The Beatles when they speak.Though I heard you are from England.Just enjoy your stay and keep coming back. You are all welcome.God bless.
Alona is very popular since before still looks good but there are also other nice beaches there in Bohol. I appreciate your decision of those children befriending Koda whom asking later of money and you are right government don't allow this kids to be dependent of asking alms and instead of giving money it is right decision to give them food. Thanks to your kindness George and Lucy.
Love watching this beautiful family ❤ especially showcasing desirable destinations Philippines or other countries they visits, somewhat my personal guide when I want to go on a trip with friends and/or family.😊 shall I say they’re kinda local to Philippines. And I know they see my likes and comments because I get ❤s and replies.
It is a bit of a pain when on holiday but the fact of the matter is that’s a main aspect of the areas employment. If the vendors don’t earn money they don’t eat and neither do their families.
for beach, please check Dumaluan beach, the beach in the area of Bohol Beach Club and South Palm. This is better than Alona Beach. or if you have more time, you can explore Anda Beach
I lived on Alona Beach 15 years ago. It was a very special place. Minus the prevalence of poverty and shabu. Don't back to the places you cherish, you will never find those places again.
Alona is only good at evenings with those party lights and avtivities. There are other beautiful beaches in Panglao where you can roam freely without those annoying advertisters for island hopping or selling bracelets. Theres a white sand beach on Panglao very spacious to roam and its not alona.
Unfortunately, the sad reality of poverty is swept under the rug. The beauty of nature such as the mountains, white sand, clear turquoise ocean water, the hospitality of the Filipinos etc masked the socioeconomic predicament of the country. 🥲😥🙏🏼 God bless ur heart for loving the Philippines. God bless the Philippines!🇵🇭
Years ago, there were these kids begging outside of the gates of my village. It was a sorry sight. There were three of them...they were siblings: Two Boys and a Girl. They were orphans. I hate seeing "begging kids" so I got rid of them from the gate of my Village. How? My friends and I sent them to school. The two boys were High School age at that time. We sent them to a Technical/Vocational School. Now, the eldest boy is a mechanic working for Suzuki Philippines. The second boy is now an expert welder with a TESDA NC IV Qualification. He is working for a shipbuilding company in Subic named "Hanjin". The youngest (The girl), just started teaching science this school year. She is a Public school teacher. What do I get from this? They promised that every year on my birthday for the rest of my life, they will buy me my favorite food: A Big Mac. It's WORTH IT.
It’s good that you get to see the realities of the country esp. kids begging for money. Buying them food is the right thing to do instead of giving them money. You don’t see beggars living in BGC or any affluent communities but you see poor communities at the back of your village even in BGC when you go further uptown. On vendors selling you tours, yes, it’s sometimes annoying but that’s how it is in public beaches where there are tourists around. It’s true in Boracay, El Nido and other countries as well. Even in Mexico, you’ll face vendors right away as soon as you exit the airport🤣 but you just have to say no and go on with your walk but yes, I totally understand the annoyance. It sometimes ruin your enjoyment of the scenery but staying in private resorts will give you the peace and total enjoyment of their beach. You’ve experienced that in Boracay where you stayed many times. Bohol has private beach clubs and resorts too. Alona beach is where you see the action and good for people watching 😉
Do what you feel in your ❤. You did right imho. Some say giving money to those kids the parents might be doing nothing while they put the kids out to beg. I think every situation is unique use your best judgement.
We were in Alona beach last month for few days, disappointed with the condition of the beach , I saw dogs and baby defecated on the beach just not a welcome sight , the beach need some cleaning, you do not want to give money to the kids, there parents watching from a distance to collect what was given , I had done the same buy food for the kids while travels.
Yeah sadly, poverty level is still very high in PH. And children begging is quite rampant here. I've seen it in other vloggers' content. But it's good that you gave them food instead of money... Honestly, i feel that there's really a culture of begging here. It's the parents' fault really... I am reminded of this famous comedienne - Pokwang (Marietta in real life). They were dirt poor too but i believe their parents discouraged them from begging. Instead, at a very young age, Pokwang sold Sampaguita garlands and Sweepstakes on the streets after school. She was taught to work instead of beg and learned the value of earning an honest living early in life.
Alonso beach is definitely overrated. Visited there recently and so disappointed. Down near the Hainan hotel area the beach is smelly where there is ongoing building work.
Im from Bohol, but I dont like Alona Beach. There are other beaches that are way better than Alona. For everyone, when you are in Bohol, you can also check Dumaluan Beach - in Panglao, this is the beach in Bohol Beach Club and South Palm Anda Beach - this is also better than Alona. But this is located in Anda, 2-3 hours from Tagbilaran
Yes dont give money to the beggars. Thats not allowed because they will come back to u with some of thier friends. Especially these ber months before christmas many beggars are anywhere in the streets to beg. Dont give them because DSWD (department of social welfare and development) is responsible for them. Simply ignore them or say BAWAL ( forbidden or not allowed). Take care. God bless.
Just visited Alona for the first time today. If you are considering it, don't bother. It is just a huge tourist trap, and a trash one at that.. complete waste of time. There are better beaches to visit in Panglao and Bohol.
I appreciate the updates in Alona Beach. Just watching your vlog being interrupted by sellers is annoying, it is good to stay in your hotel. That's life so it is still good to be kind and to do good.
I appreciate that you address the reality of what you see and encounter in the Philippines. Thanks for keeping it real ❤
You’re good people, George and Lucy. God bless your family.

keep it going i love all the videos you have done right from the beging was back when u 1st left the UK
I appreciate that you didn't videotape and then post on social media those kids you treated at McDonald's. That is genuine help. Good job.
Exactly. Just shows that the "help" is genuine and not because of a motive like extra "likes."
I do really like Lucy's accent so cute like hearing The Beatles when they speak.Though I heard you are from England.Just enjoy your stay and keep coming back. You are all welcome.God bless.

I could understand they wanted to sell something but it is quite irritating that they kept on pushing tourist to buy.

Alona is over-rated. There are other much nicer, less touristy beaches in Bohol.
Tell us plsss...
South Palms is nicer longer and bigger connected to Bohol beach club .Alona is small and crowded.
@@JaypeeCruises In Panglao, Dumaluan Beach is way better than Alona. It is near Bohol Beach Club and South Palm
Anda Beach, south of Bohol
@@amazing131911 ok..thanks po

enjoy d beach
Thanks for watching!
People shoving things on your face is definitely annoying. But it is what it is, Philippines is a poor country so it can’t be avoided.
