Since you are now travelling with a baby, do search for a paediatrician’s clinic within a reachable radius where you are staying. Take note of the details, it will save you time and convenience in case of need.
Hi. I'm a doctor. A little bit of advice - The best thing to do for non-emergency cases such as in Koda's case, you could have gone to the nearest commercial center - in this case, Tagbilaran City - and then go to the biggest privately-operated hospital. You will have the biggest chance of having a doctor and specialist physician available. The cost will be larger than going to a local government hospital but not as costly as having the doctor come to you.
maybe 2,500 is cheap to them and thats what theyre trying to point out, imagine how much it would cost for a doctor in the uk to travel half a day to see you lol
Note however that high altitude is terrible on kids, you fly so much and we, as adults oftentimes our ears pop… this is mostly the reason why babies are irritable in flights. So, make sure you protect his ears especially during landings and take off, it’s from ear popping that sometimes cause these underlying issues. I’m speaking from experience.
Hospitals are key for me… I have a terrible stomach so as I get older, I’m always looking for a good commercialized center for my retirement in Philippines that I near to a hospital. I love getting away to more provincial areas as that’s where I’m originally from (Barotac Nuevo)… sorry you guys had to go through that hassle but o believe it’s a great learning experience for you both. As a nurse also… I think if I had a child, I probably would’ve stayed at the provincial hospital instead of trying to go around searching for a pharmacy… either way, glad you got Koda taken care of and you are all safe. 👍🏼
This is a needed vlog to release, Juicy fam, esp. with regards to resorts, hotels and even home rentals that are heavily marketed to families and by that it means toddlers are likely to visit. Great to know that Koda, the airport-Manila traffic baby, has responded well and the pedia issue-being that it became its own kind of wild journey (island life indeed!)-was sorted out. We can see how the effort by you George and Lucy is always multiplied being the video guys and parents at the same time all the time; those do come through your videos. Go get yourselves needed rest =D (PS. The MNL airport and plane scenaios, with all its chaos and noise, is a good real dose of reality which we did not mind at all, btw. There should be segments of those.)
FYI,it’s common to small children to have ear infection specially drinking milk lying flat and also swimming , George looks handsome, young even with long hair❤
Aww i hope Koda's all good now. I've currently got a poorly baby and its so worrying being first time parent especially when you're in a foreign country. Defo a water baby like his mummy then 😊
Philippine medicine is so highly specualized nowadays..if the patient is a child, you have to go to a pediatrician, etc. And pharmacy doctors are usually MDs for adults. That is why I am looking forward to the implementation of the UNIVERSAL HEALTH LAW where the doctor of furst contact is a FAMILY MEDICINE md who can start treatment before being referred to soecialists. I hooe Koda is better now.
Great information for travelers going to the Philippines, I also recommended to get travel insurance when there is major emergency you need it. I bought for family travel insurance every time I go home..Safe trip enjoy..more fun in the Philippines.
Koda has grown a lot...time flies! Glad Koda was sorted out but next time, search for a nearby mall where there is a private clinic, cheaper than calling a pediatrician to your hotel.
if that is in canada it would take months to have an specialist and no doctor will go to your place just to check you alone. very lucky cody, if that happens to other place the language barrier alone is already a nightmare.
in case you haven't been back to England this coming February 12 to 15 2024. I invite you to visit our province of KALINGA in other word "ARAW NG MGA PUSO" on that day, because there is an event coming up that I'm sure you won't regret and it's worth it.
To all mom travel specially with kids under 10 u should bring ur own from A to Z Thats what im doing all the time specially f u dont have health insurance
In the Philippines it is always best to find a private doctor anytime. But here in the UK you have to wait for a very long queue to be seen by a Doctor.
cebu doctors/ velez hospital - cheaper than manila but equally skilled , a lot nearer in bohol - most emergencies in visayas or mindanao- most locals run to cebu...
Most hospital has pediatrician on duty or RPN nurses that can deal with non emergency situation. Private hospitals are more equipped and doctors on duty.
Great vlog. Thinking of what your said about filming your daily activities. Definitely those vlogs are your memories of your family daily activities. Keep sharing and its 2240 UK time while watching.
Hi, try to go in Palaya Shrimp farm Koda will love it, they have Aya cottage house, it's near also Zambales. And also try to go at Clark they have new places to enjoy
Sadly I have experience in multiple filipino hospitals, from Palawan to Manila, sadly all of my experience in all of them is extremely negative, 50% of doctors we worked with where top notch, really good and helpful, the main issue are the private hospitals that just want to milk every last $ out of you (also, the "public" hospitals are not free (in other parts of the world "Public" means Free (a service to the people), apart from that their labs are not up to date (after coming to Europe, test results showed something none of them could see there, one of them was in Makati Med) also this was for a serious issue (multiple chemotherapy sessions) here in Europe not 1 chemotherapy session because diagnosis was wrong. My advice, if you have anything serious and have the capability of leaving the country do it, don't think twice, also because if you do not have the money to pay for hospitals and meds you will die on the street basically, I enjoy watching your vlogs when I have time, Cheers and take care!
My fear goin back there is medical care! Especially in the province! Also the expensive cost even if I have medical insurance in the US! One hospital stay can cost in the hundred thousands🥺
Koda probably got what they call swimmer’s ear. Since Koda loves to swim you should bring ear drops for that in the future. There’s a few OTC homeopathic drops that you don’t need drs prescription. Get well Koda.
First in the Premiere Video.... Suggestion if you can have a video collaboration with "Raya and Louis" because you are in the same community..... Thanks on your latest video....

thats always good to know.👍
That’s good advice. There is a more practical way to visit a doctor. Home visits may not be available all the time either.
The doctor seemed very professional and helpful in getting the medication for Koda.
Koda eating pan de coco gives joy to me. Such adorable kid ❤
I love it that Koda knows how to say PAN DE COCO..I hope his ear gets better soon...it's good that he does not have an ear infection

Wow, what a hassle for you guys to go through, just to get Koda seen by a pediatrician. Good to hear that Koda is doing fine. Stay safe and God bless
Hope all of you are doing well. You'll always have our support.

Poor Koda. Glad he bounced back quite quickly. Happy that the resort hotel was very solicitous of your need and very helpful. God bless!

The ladies hotel staff are so fun with the cuteness of Koda & wish Koda's health is always fine & I know Koda is a healthy boy.

It's already implemented, you need to register to DOH approved primary health care facility. So that Phil health will cover your expenses.
Phil Health wont cover all expenses, only like a 20% (seems like a joke to me)@@CarlesDeSantes
Get well soon Koda . 😮😊❤❤❤
Oh, it's nice to know that is well. Have a safe and pleasant trips onward. Watching from Cagayan de Oro City.

Gorgeous nature and gorgeous family!

Thanks that baby Koda is doing well. Ear plugs help preventing ear infections when swimming, even adults should wear one.
We're gonna tuck in. I'm craving
God bless u Koda❤🙏🏽
Thank you for vlogging this! It’s super informative and good to know what the medical and health care situation is in Panglao.

KILALA KO YANG PANGALAN MO😊 PANAHON KO YAN😊
As an American if I am right that 2,500 pesos is 145 dollars that was by American standards nothing! More than very reasonable for such care.
Its 50 USD (2,500 peso)

Cebu to dapitan by plane or boat. Or tagbilaran via dumaguete to dapitan

Glad to know it's nothing serious! Ehem 6 hrs in the pool is a bit extreme hehe Stay safe, fam!
Pandecoco boy so cute 🫶
My mom spent 8 days in a private hospital in Manila and it cost us 360,000 ++ pesos or roughly £5,200..
Great vlog. Thinking of what your said about filming your daily activities. Definitely those vlogs are your memories of your family daily activities. Keep sharing and its 2240 UK time while watching.

Koda so cute
Koda and the delicious pande Coco glad his feeling better enjoy the rest of your break as always keep safe&well.
Take care ❤❤❤ glad koda is fine
Public hospital has long queue so you should go to private hospital.

lining in a queue is a westerner's nightmare ... lol
you realized you took more time riding around than having the queue
Tagbilaran City is just 30 mins drive from Panglao. Theres alot of private hospitals there like Ace, HNU, Coop etc.
❤

Bonjour Koda. Ça va
So whats surprising? 2500?
To see a pediatric specialist in the US, Koda would need to wait so long a geriatric physician would be more appropriate.
Geriatric is for the elderly 😂
Glad Koda's okay... Yeah, probably from pool water getting in his ears. That's why i don't like pools coz people pee in them. LOL
