Hearing Bob talk about his desire for longer sindicated episodes made me realize he truly did pass away too young. Could you imagine with this man could have accomplished with a RUclips channel to call his own? He was this talented with less than half an hour to work with, imagine what an hour long or more RUclips instructional video would look like.
I have a long story to say about Bob Ross, when i was around 5 my Dad would pop in Bob Ross VHS's and i would just, sit there, watching his hand move, and i would wonder how he would do it, i loved how his voice would be so soft and calm, when my parents would put me in front of a Bob Ross video and his voice would be so calming and entrancing, I would stop crying. ive known him almost all my life, once i go back to see my Dad again i'm going to ask. "can we watch some Bob Ross together?", i would love to meet his ghost. he was a good man and i would still think of him. i love you Ross and i hope they have infinite paint in heaven.

For some reason, Bob Ross makes me feel calm and relaxed from my daily stress with homework and other issues. He really knows how to make every thing negative thing into a positive thing.
I can't really get ASMR from videos. But I can watch Bob Ross anyway and it puts me in a wonderful serene mood. So even if you don't ASMR, these Bob Ross videos are still amazing in how calming and happy watching them feels. Good videos to watch if you wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep. Or stressed out or just want a nice relaxing experience. I like how you said, "for some reason" because, LOL that's what I would say. Whatever that "reason" we find these videos wonderfully relaxing, apparently so do many, many other people. I thought the rest of his message was beautiful. It just sickens me when people attempt to glorify death because they're emotionally unable to confront the harsh nature of reality. Cancer shouldn't be seen as anything but a terrible disease that we should focus on treating as best as we can. Replacing his cause of death with the will of your nonexistent god makes you a non-acting bystander, which makes you part of the problem. I hope my message doesn't get interpreted wrong. I just sincerely hope that people will *fight* the causes of death instead of trying desperately to cope with them. Even as an atheïst, I would say: God Bless, that you may find the courage to end suffering and not succumb to the easy way of acceptance.

I see a lot of ASMR comments. I agree his voice is relaxing, but it's not forced. Many of the ASMR videos assume you have to whisper. It's not the whisper, it's just his natural way.

Started watching his video like what!?? Look at that cool mans hair and then got to meet Bob Ross and the joy of painting. Now i watch his videos everyday and it became a habbit to paint my own paintings. Its a great legend who have a special place in hearts and mind.

it's been years since I seen this intro and an episode of this show in its entirety...remember bob ross along with this old house as a kid after a day of preschool and early grade school daily in the early 90s, watching with mom and dad and my sisters or sometimes just dad some times just mom etc etc... any way very nostalgic any makes me want to cry in remembrance of times that passes and much simpler happy times... 😢

Oh this episode really made me teary. I wished I would have watched more shows when he was alive; and I wish I had written him a letter of thanks, I enjoyed the shows I did see back then. And BTW this painting is just gorgeous! Thank you to all the folks that put these videos up on here. I can't get enough of all the happy - happy accidents, happy trees, clouds, bushes, and so on! Watching these videos inspire me to one day paint like this, and it's also kicking my depression right in the arse.
This has always been my favorite Bob painting. I was a junior in high school in 2015 when I first saw this video, and it has brought me a lot of happiness ever since.

Sometimes my life feels unruly and chaotic. Then i listen to how centered and calm Bob was and it puts me in a better headspace... what a truly good, well oriented person. It would have been a pleasure to meet him. He put his heart into everything he did and showed us the beauty in something so simple, painting. I only hope to be as passionate about anything i do in my life as he was with an empty canvas. Rest well Bob. The world wasn't ready for you, but heaven was.

I don't know if I watch these for painting reference, asmr, life advice or to lift my spirits. I wondered what was the big deal about this guy, so I checked some of these videos out and now... I can see it.
The way he talks kind of reminds me of my grandfather. The way he talks about the paint instantly taking the colours of the wet pigments underneath is very similar to the way my granddad talks about most of the things that interests him.
A few days ago I was diagnosed with severe anxiety, these video help me relax so much, with panic attacks and with my chest pain that comes along with it. Every video I watch relaxes me so much. I simply love these his voice makes me sleepy, but I always try to stay awake to see his amazing finished product. ❤️
This is probably my favorite project by Ross, as it sort of blends both day and night into the same landscape. Watched Ross paint on PBS as a kid, showing the beauty of the world without ever having to step outside.
this man became a phenomenon not only for his paintings but for his personality. I love watching these episodes, the world becomes a little brighter with a man like this.

I have watched since moving to Ohio in 1984 as a child, now, in 2023 Bob is still teaching & encouraging to view the world through our own lense.

it's been years since I seen this intro and an episode of this show in its entirety...remember bob ross along with this old house as a kid after a day of preschool and early grade school daily in the early 90s, watching with mom and dad and my sisters or sometimes just dad some times just mom etc etc... any way very nostalgic any makes me want to cry in remembrance of times that passes and much simpler happy times... 😢
I'm 36 today and i enjoy Bob just as much as i did when these aired on PBS! I don't know what i would've done without The Joy of Painting! God bless 🙏✝️👑

Oh this episode really made me teary. I wished I would have watched more shows when he was alive; and I wish I had written him a letter of thanks, I enjoyed the shows I did see back then. And BTW this painting is just gorgeous! Thank you to all the folks that put these videos up on here. I can't get enough of all the happy - happy accidents, happy trees, clouds, bushes, and so on! Watching these videos inspire me to one day paint like this, and it's also kicking my depression right in the arse.
This has always been my favorite Bob painting. I was a junior in high school in 2015 when I first saw this video, and it has brought me a lot of happiness ever since.

I just started watching these yesterday and I love it because it's like your making your own world...it like your God and its beautiful.

Sometimes my life feels unruly and chaotic. Then i listen to how centered and calm Bob was and it puts me in a better headspace... what a truly good, well oriented person. It would have been a pleasure to meet him.
He put his heart into everything he did and showed us the beauty in something so simple, painting. I only hope to be as passionate about anything i do in my life as he was with an empty canvas.
Rest well Bob. The world wasn't ready for you, but heaven was.

The most calming voice of all time.
I don't know if I watch these for painting reference, asmr, life advice or to lift my spirits. I wondered what was the big deal about this guy, so I checked some of these videos out and now... I can see it.
The way he talks kind of reminds me of my grandfather. The way he talks about the paint instantly taking the colours of the wet pigments underneath is very similar to the way my granddad talks about most of the things that interests him.
A few days ago I was diagnosed with severe anxiety, these video help me relax so much, with panic attacks and with my chest pain that comes along with it. Every video I watch relaxes me so much. I simply love these his voice makes me sleepy, but I always try to stay awake to see his amazing finished product. ❤️
This is probably my favorite project by Ross, as it sort of blends both day and night into the same landscape. Watched Ross paint on PBS as a kid, showing the beauty of the world without ever having to step outside.
3 months ago i did not paint at all.
Now i have started.
