Hi, thanks for this engaging and informative video. It was a great learning experience. I have a question please. Can Jira be used as a Workload management tool?
Hello , Thanks for writing. Jira can do a lot of things which come under workload management like Task Assignment, Visualisation, Time tracking etc. But if you want to go for a little deeper level you can use some pluggins like Activity Timeline.
@@managementbliss Thanks so much. This is very helpful! I’m trying to assess the workload of one of my teams so I can present it in our weekly report. Thanks again.
Thank you for this informative session. Can you by any chance share some dummy data in an excel format for practicing this session on dashboards and charts.
Hello , thanks for writing . Currently I do not have the dummy data in excel . But you don't need massive data to test out dashboards. For learning purpose just create few issues may be 10 or 15 with different data criteria and that should be fine.
Hello, Thanks for writing. You want to create a dashboard with Issue Count -> of worked on issues for each team member ? for that create a filter to get all issues which have the status worked on () and on the dashboard create an issue statistics filter and use this filter and Choose Statistic Type as Asignee. That would do..
Hi, do you know how to use Three dimensional view in Jira Dashboard. I couldn't find a gadget which would help me pull a 3 -dimensional report. For e.g., I want to pull a Dashboard where I want to show all the projects that the Ops Manager is working on and see the status of all the tasks and sub-tasks grouped by project. I am unable to group them by Project.
Hello, Thanks for writing . With plain jira and JQL you will not be able to do group by You can try : - Creating a filter for each group and adding gadgets to dashboard - Using external plugins to create complex queries like:JQL Search Extensions for Jira & Reports , Script Runner I hope that helps.
Hello , You can easily create a pie chart with multiple projects by creating a Filter that will get data from multiple projects and then use that filter while creating your pie chart for example : Filter could be like status != Closed and project in (Project1, Project2)
Hi, do you have any Gadget capturing team members total estimated effort in the sprint? For example, two dimensional with Assignee and total original estimate
Hi, Thank you for your question. To create two dimensional filter you need to select the gadget 'Two Dimensional Issues Statistics' but currently jira does not support you to select estimation field in it. What you can do as a workaround is to create a custom field copy the estimate values to that field (you can use automation here) and then use it in y axis of the two dimensional gadget and in the x-axis use the assignee. Hope that helps.
Hello, Sorry for late reply . What you want to show or not show on your dashboard depends on the filter you are using. You can create a special filter for your requirement and not get the results of marked or closed issues. I hope it helps . Also, do write to me if you have any more queries.
Hello, Thanks for writing, On the right side of Dashboard page you can see the "Add a Gadget " option in that try to find the Gadget named - Sprint Health Gadget There for one of the Sprint drop downs provide the name of your active sprint and you can see the health of your active sprint. Similarly, you can add as many gadgets as you want for sprint health. I hope that helps.

Do we first have to create a team in jira before setting up dashboard?
Hi , We generally create a team first while setting up a project but there is no restriction provided by JIRA.

How can I make sure that issues marked closed or done are removed from project dashboards?
