Myke Johnson the typhoon was slightly faster than the grand nation stock but they were pretty damn close and I’m sure it came down to the car/conditions/drivers. So yes they were very close stock I’d say, but on the street I’m sure awd would have an advantage.

What top speed has the typhoon? 348tb is 170mph. I dont believe the typhoon is faster. Also the acceleration is 5.5 0-60 from the 348tb and i am sure it is faster/better accelerating in a rolling start compared to the typhoon. Just a little awd advantage. Note: I love Typhoons

I would think it probably has less than 10k miles on it. He was a Corvette and El Camino guy back in the day, but his daily driver is still a 1993 454 SS.

I love this so much. Reminds me of the Trailblazer SS. So much fun driving a small SUV with awd and enough power to beat most cars at a spot light. No one ever expects you blowing past them in a heavy SUV. The weight and awd really hooks on the street. Trailblazer ss came with 395hp but this being turbo 6cyl would be even quiter than a modern ls2 v8 with a modern exhaust. I love werid powerful sleepers. More fun than most muscle cars for laughs.
I dont say this often about '80s and '90s GM products, but that's an awesome truck. I would love a mint condition one today, but I'm guessing they are still pricey!
CamaroAmx the original vectors were very reliable. Workmanship was too notch, it's only when Weigart lost control of vector in a hostile takeover, to an East Indian company called Avertech(or something like that). They made the different body style, and used a lambo engine. Went to shit from there.

I was 22yrs old when i bought my 1st new car. 97 Z28 6spd. Guy in a grey Typhoon got out to pass me in suicide lane, dropped 2gears and leaned on it, i got owned. Must have been an out of towner. Never saw him or the Typhoon again. Thankfull nobody saw my beating 3yrs later upgraded to a SS. 18yrs later upgraded to HellCat
I had a good laugh one day. Some guy tried to say these had the same turbo engine that was in the Buick GN's and GNX's. Sorry to burst his bubble and for anyone else. The Buick's has a 3.8L turbo ( same for the 90's Turbo T/A ) and the GMC had a 4.3L turbo. Not the same beast.

A unicorn. That early 1980s platform (GMT 330, 1983-1994) needed a new look, and the Typhoon was it. I would have taken this over the 1992 Explorer.

That platform began in 1982 and ran through 2005... The Typhoon is a lot more common than the Syclone.
I drove a new Syclone back in 91 and that thing was so quick! With the AWD, it was a monster coming off the line.

I had a good laugh one day. Some guy tried to say these had the same turbo engine that was in the Buick GN's and GNX's. Sorry to burst his bubble and for anyone else. The Buick's has a 3.8L turbo ( same for the 90's Turbo T/A ) and the GMC had a 4.3L turbo. Not the same beast.
