The algo currently recommends me equal numbers of real history documentaries and Warhammer history documentaries. Any aliens watching would be very confused.
@@sloshed-rat You're right - they would probably nuke us from orbit before anyone had time to explain what "fictional worldbuilding" is. Unfortunately, our real history isn't much better.
Tau in lore: Halo's Covenant Tau on tabletop: Get in the battlesuit Shinji But seriously I hope with the new Kroot model they'll see more use other than just novelty.
Fortunately it's not just a new model but a new model *range*. You'd probably need to still bring a Tau tank or two, but that's still keeping in theme.
I like the Kroot because they, like the Tau they ally with, feel the most like an alien species rather than something adapted from a fantasy setting. Aside from the Tyranids, but you know what I mean.
You can't tell me the Kroot weren't based on the Yautja. If anything, though, they're even more bad-assed than Yautja. They might not be quite as robust, but they're a lot more flexible, a lot more agile, and just flatout frickin' SAVAGE. It's something else to see a naked alien with Paleolithic stone-and-bone weapons take on an Astartes embodying and wearing some of the greatest technical achievements humanity has developed in forty thousand years...and just rip him right out of his armor and devour him.
I really wish the Kroot were more flushed out. For a species that supposed to be continuously evolving by picking and choosing different traits. They really aren’t that varied that much. It would be sick if different packs had different specialties. I don’t understand why some Kroot who’ve consumed Eldar dont have psycic abilities or ones that have fought against humans aren’t more adept at using tools and vehicles.
Kroot who eat Eldar can and have evolved psychic powers, iirc against the Silver Skulls. Human genetics are otherwise unremarkable, there's nothing humans can do that Kroot can't at a biological level. As for being adept at technology, they already possess equal tech compared to the Imperium, but they refuse to use it unless they have to because they think reliance on technology makes them weak.
I really wonder what kind of madlad among the kroot first thought to try eating Necrons. Maybe they ground the necrodermis up first and took it like a supplement? That still raises a lot of questions about what the hell is going on in their stomach.
Very interesting video, i know VERY little about the Tau except that they are space communists and they have cool looking Mecha. Ive watched a few videos on them actalky so i know about the castes and i know that they were saved from imperial destruction by the Tyranid invasion (or so i saw in one video) its always interesting to learn more about the wider 40k universe.
Ayo! Anyone else seen this other 40k lore channel using this EXACT voice? I THINK it's Imperial Iterator or something similar. Plus they put out a video about which Traitor primarch is the strongest and I swear Majorkill put that out a while back. The channel is two months old. Someone please tell me i'm not living in a parallel existence!
They will crank out abunch of daft dinosaur fools but I try to find a pair of helvrins or warglaives and they act like they never produced those at all.
I think the Kroot are very fun. I like the way they look, I like bird reptile guys that literally are what they eat- and I think their minis look fun. The only thing that I don’t like is that they are technically Tau. And that means a lot of players won’t want to play with you. :c
What if a bunch of kroots happen to devour a Primarch? Or even the Emperor? (Please respond quickly, for I think the inquisition is on their way for a little chat, just as I type this.)
I love this video and learning about Kroot. But, I've got to ask? Why did you use "Glint Hawk Idol" a Magic the Gathering to describe the Kroots beak? 40k has been around for years so I'd figure you could you 40k ip instead of MTG ip
"Their powerful beaks are MORE than enough to eat necrons." Lmao, you lost me. 40K lore is so nonsensical and inconsistent. "This necrodermis is stronger than titanium." "This bird humanoid can eat them." Blah blah, on and on it goes. This video even shows a Kroot trying to stab a SPACE MARINE in POWER ARMOR with a knife. And I'm sure in the lore he can kill the space marine with a knife too. 'Cuz it's a special magical power knife or something that can pierce the POWER ARMOR of a Space Marine which is otherwise nearly invincible.
Indeed, there are huge disparities between power levels in the different books, but this kind of looseness lets the fans of each faction have their own "special" army. As a plot point, it would be terrifying to have the necrons as these truly indestructible constructs, but for a tabletop game, its far more compelling, and "rule accurate" to allow these odd situations to come and go.
The best part about the Kroot is that this lecture isn't even yet scratching the surface of their weirdness. Like the Kroot having faster than light travel long before the Tau and the Tau not succeeding at reverse-engineering their Kroot spheres.
It's from Battlefleet Gothic. The Kroot are descendants of a highly advanced civilization. But the kicker is that this civilization decided to deliberately embrace primitivity as they found new appreciation for their genetic absorption trait. They still kept some of their ancient artefacts, a few weapons and of course their space ships. But other than that they no longer care about civilization, only the hunt and growing through their prey. They basically won the game of civilization, got bored and decided to go do something else.
@@theotv5522 It's pieces gathered together but mainly Battlefleet Gothic. Don't worry though, there's a Kroot novel in the works by Nate Crowley and if it's anything like Twice Dead King you'll get ample exposition on the origins of this species.
