  • Hello again you gorgeous sugar beasties! In this tutorial, I attempt to recreate an amazing design from one of my favourite cake artists in the entire world! Tortik Annuchka are based in Moscow and every single one of their designs blow my mind! They are innovative, original and LOVE working with texture. This cake design is no exception. It combines white and black marble with woodgrain, elegant gold leaf, scuffed white wall texture and is topped with an elegant isomalt sail.
    Such sweet simplicity to create an elegant and classy design.

    I love it, I think it needed the wood look in the top of the bottom to marry top and bottom together. ❤️ this would be an excellent display cake.

      Couldn’t agree more with the woodgrain at the top to keep it uniform. It changed the entire look of the cake so I was so happy I went with it. 🤔 now you’ve got me thinking of remaking it as a display! Thank you so much for the support and lovely comments too! It’s means so much! 😊

    That speckled effect looks amazing 😁 also I like the tip on shaping the sail!
    On the isomalt - anyone who has watched Sidney Galpern work with it will know she doesn't wear gloves, because she's handled it for so many years that she has lost heat sensitivity in her hands! So unless you want the same fate, wear gloves!!

    • @THATSCAKEABLE
      @THATSCAKEABLE  3 года назад

      Thanks so much for the lovely feedback. Re the info on Sidneys lack of heat sensitivity, please just be cautious. Yes Sidney has lost a lot of heat sensitivity in her hands over her years of using isomalt however, if she splashed her hand with 300 degree sugar, she would still suffer significantly bad burns regardless of how accustomed she has become to the actual heat of working with sugar. Therefore, gloves should really always be worn.
      Thank you again for your lovely feedback and for your support 🙂
