Credit where it's due - that is perhaps the cleanest arcade in the UK. Very low percentage of failures also - well maintained. The Raw Thrills/Betson cab harms me, although I do like their creative wiring. I always hate to see predatory practices though - very seasidey. They have them down to an art form.
I had terrible luck on the penny pushers here. I guess they just weren’t ready to payout on that day.
Yeah, if they have good prizes, then the side pockets are probably HUGEEE
Second arcade has lots of games and is very decent, never worry about america english we will allways have different words but we mostly speak the same, anyway this arcade had a variety of games some very good.
First one basic 2p and slot machines.
No way video games are still going strong, redemption games are ok, but 45 % video games as well you need variety, i mean classic arcade's are huge when 10 years back they were long gone, now theres lots of them, even a one or 2 town arcades are opening eg caddyshackers and another one, you have hollywood bowl as well, and even retro consoles now, i doubt all redemption but still maybe 40 or 50% in arcades bearing in mind there's vr as well, but i think if things stay the same 5 years time then there's a place for everything, they still make arcade machines and there repairs are easy if you know what you are doing room for all.
For sure! There's a lot of places doing it a lot better! Selling alcohol usually helps a lot with that, otherwise, pay on entry seems to work ok too! Failing that, you could avoid some taxes and make a non-profit museum... lots of options for sure!

Redemption is the future of arcades. They are correct but it's not necessarily said in a positive sense. The "fruit machine baaaad" committee have won, gamblers will get pulled, redemption will replace them. Not happy.
Video games have their place in other arcades that arent seaside amusements. Seaside will have awful redemption games and the prizes will be absolute tat. Paignton Pier a far cry from before. I visited in 2009 and the variety was much better.
No kiddin! I don't think i've seen a great seaside arcade, not for a long time anyway! (Comparing it to something from the 90s)
I imagine a lot of places will just close and the rest will move to redemption like you said. Sad times!
