Thomas! As a painting contractor and board painter for 30 plus years. You did everything right! I would have given the board spray an 8.7!! The blue tape, the matte clear acrylic, all items used was spot on. Not much of a vlog person. However, i really enjoy the videos. Anyone who might read this, follow Thomas's method. Hair dryers are clutch for a harder finish with any acrylics. Also, one can never apply to many coats of clear finish. Safe travels you two! Merry Christmas!
Great to know Kevin! We love 'attempting' to get creative with new boards so epic to know we're doing it the right way. And we'll try and hair dryer trick for sure! Merry Christmas to you and your family too 😀
❤ great gouging top turns, lay backs, and cutbacks, Lakey :) also, I hope you keep the pink rails. aside from it being one of my favorite colors, it looks striking, and it really helps identify you and accentuate your surfing maneuvers on the wave, especially having it placed where you do on the rails :)
Practicing for contests, and competitive strategy work is essential. Yeah - you gotta be able to RIP - but you also gotta lay it down in the clutch, when you need a score, and use the priority system to your advantage. Bruce Irons is/was an insane ripper - but rarely could he get to a final heat. Andy had the competitive edge, and the drive it took, to bring home gold.
Coral pink! I’m going to have to look this color up now. Haha good old potz 😂 thanks Paul.. no plans on moving to Hawaii just spending a lot of time there atm getting reps in 🙌
I would like to thank your pony tail for helping my backs side snaps i pretend i have a pony tail and the harder i whip it the sharper snaps hahaha true story thanks
So Lucky it's a Tropical Destination, less carrying heavy wetsuits and cold weather gear. I'm sure a lot of professional surfers mail/ship certain items to where they are going especially if it's for more then a month of staying at a specific location. Save money instead of paying the airline's insanely high prices to bring extra luggage/surf boards etc.....
How did you, “run heats”? You were doing like a mock heat against Molly under time? Did you run plays on each other, like positioning strategy and ways to interfere without interfering?
Yes, we ran heat together. But focussing on a few different aspects of the heat.. can’t give too much away but hopefully it makes a difference this season 👌

"Hawaii Travel Activity Book For Kids Ages 5-12", I found this activity book on amazon. I bought it for my son, and he loves it

Exactly! More than 50% of a heat win comes from heat tactics... mine haven't been the strongest in the past so hopefully a step up on them this year 😀
Shredding Lakey! Always rooting for you in comps
Thanks Dingus! 🙌
Another Awesome Vlog Guys
Thanks John! 🙌
Ripping, ripping, ripping. You’ve made my day that much better . Merry Christmas, and will see ya next week. Thanks 🤙

Thanks Simon! We're back in Cali for next weeks video 😀
Looking good! I have a couple fresh blades coming and I was thinking about painting them with my kids. Any issues with tail pads sticking?
We’ve never had any issues with pads coming up! Just make sure you do the clear acrylic spray and you should be fine. Hope the painting goes well 🙌
Outstanding! Happy trails
Thanks kailua 🙌
Cat-like reflexes 🐈4:50
Haha close call for sure! 😅
Is the pink rail also self-sprayed? Try pink rails on the new black carbon boards!
No CI did the pink rails!!!! Pink on the carbon wrap board would look insane… great idea
Coral pink flame rails for 2023 for sure! As you prob know flames make you surf better...just ask Pottz😜 Great vid any plans of moving to HI?

Richmond tigers spray 👌
I like your thinking… maybe a dusty number in there?
HERE WE GO! So, here is the next challenge. Compaare the amount of luggage you went TO Hawaii with, versus what you came home with.
This is such a good one. Would be epic to compare this amongst all tour surfers 👍

Really enjoyed watching this vlog. Board art could for sure be fave animal or flower. What type of aftersun products do you two use?
Thanks Robin! Ahhh I like this idea.... Although my artistic skills might struggle to pull this off.
Ohh and I use Shisheido products as well as Aesop' sometimes when I'm in Australia. Tom uses nothing haha
