You’re such a humble guy and brave to post this experience for others to see. Most people have this problem of putting their weight too far back on their ski tails. It compromises control and your quads get tired incredibly quickly. Lots of YT videos are out there on how to fix that. Basically you need to really be conscious of getting into a good stacked stance with center of mass forward over mid arch of foot instead of on your heels. You should feel constant pressure on your shins if done correctly. Also, during turns, start pressuring the outside ski early at beginning of each turn and maintain outside ski pressure. Those 2 things helped me the most. Hang in there. Good luck with your journey!
@@lightbulbgoesoff3576 leaning too far back is definitely the one thing that is most noticed, especially now that I’ve filmed myself skiing! I’ll continue adjusting and improving for next year!
It's very easy to feel like the world is against us, but very hard to admit that maybe we make mistakes sometimes. Only when we admit that we messed up, we can learn and grow. Great video!
i feel for you man, i failed my first try as well for the austrian teacher exam, but if its your passion, you chase it, i ended up passing the second try around with only 3 extra days of skiing, i feel somehow i got lucky and blessed with it, afterwards were 4 months of teaching and skiing and getting to a level that does validate the fact i got passed the second time over. keep hanging in there. if you want a concrete tip for it, A make sure to always press your shins in the front of the boot, and make the connection seemless (hard to get a finger in between) and B optimize your gear, maybe get shorter skis that work for you and turn at minimal effort/input, its what i did, went from 170cm skis to 155cm and then through the season could master the 170cm ones :).
@@MarcoFD thank you so much for the tips ~ and I’m so happy for you 😆 you should never feel your efforts aren’t valid though. You passing, luck or not is solid proof of the effort you put in ✊✊✊ And interesting trick on trying shorter skis with a big length difference. I’m definitely keen to give it a try !!
Thanks for sharing your experience. Im about to try the same test and to be honest Im not sure because I havent skiing that much. I was wondering how long have you been skiing before taking this test? Thanks for the video!!
I'm from Taiwan with no snow so I didn't start skiing until 6 years ago. I've skied in winter season for three years. But there was a big time block cause of covid. Then got back in when I started this season in Australia.
I got certified to ski instruct at 15 and started coaching at 16, this was very cool to watch

I love your story and your ending 14:35. It not about ski, it is about your attitude.

Such a great video for a small channel.
HOWEVER, I would never want you to be my ski instructor
I appreciate the honesty 🤣
Haha weather in Australia is hectic. I did a ski season grooming/ building the terrain park at Mt. Hotham.
I'll be heading for the snow in Australia this year again!
Not sure what to expect 🤣
W video Gilbert ❤
