It could have been mentioned here that consumer color cameras did NOT have broadcast quality. So the image quality does not only depend on the pilot tone.
Wouldn’t the price of the machine and components go down significantly once Umatic came out in 1972?
No because these unit were sold yo home use were 3/4 was a broadcast format release
U-matic was available as a "cheap" version without a proper cassette slot (5000€) and as a broadcast version (9000€).
