    Everytime I've messed around with adding Lead tape to a club the Roof Comes Crashing Down on me, but recently I've added a strip of tape behind my Cleveland 52 degree wedge and I love it's higher ball flight.

    Tried lead tape on various clubs in the bag. More weight equals so much more height for me. Since I want a more piercing ball flight I haven’t found adding weight helping me. Great fun testing this though. Will be playing with length soon. Your channel certainly inspires me to play around with settings!!!

      if you are a right handed golfer try a weak left hand grip with a strong right hand grip and see what happens. and I don't mean gripping the club tighter with your right hand and looser with your left hand. by strong and weak I mean hand position just to be clear. if you don't know what I am talking about do a search on youtube.

    I need to add some tape to some cavity back irons. Probably 3 swing weight points, so 6 g of led. Most websites say to fill the cavity at the center. I like your install for more smash. Nice job. I wonder what #'s you would get with a 50/ 50 combo: your install with center cavity install.

    I have an old set of irons Burner 2.0 that I am putting graphite shafts in to experiment, for fun mainly. Watched a ton of your vids and feel comfortable with prep and assembly. Just not really certain what I should be looking for from a weight perspective. I have a scale and can add/takeaway if needed. Is there a chart to reference or something major I should be concerned with. Again. just an experiment, but want to try and get things close to normal setup. Great channel.

    • @McGolf

      smash factor is very swing relative. the higher the speed goes its hard to obtain 1.50. The pros who practice often and with a staff behind them can do it. but not as often as you think

    D2 is good for me as i get older. Heads that are too light spray the ball for me. Too heavy and distance and ball height is too low. I like your tape job. I need to do that with some MP-54s The backs of those are not conducive to a smooth looking job. Great Video btw.

    A question for the super club building guru(I'm a way above avg. club builder-but quite less than super lol ) Do you know the max loft I can add to the 2003 Cleveland 900 tour action form forged wedge at a 52/6* bounce- I'm doing the one length thingy and in order to make my wedges longer and keep my 900's I need to bend/add loft to a 52 (which has a head weight less than a 56/60) to the max loft I can add to it- hopefully at least to a 58*/13* thanks in advance.

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  4 года назад

      the easy reply is 4 degrees. forged 4 cast 2 however there are clubs out there i have been as much as 9 degrees. it was based on the heat treatment of the iron. go to the 4 degree limit if the iron start to fight you then stop. if it feel soft go a little and try and again later.

    I really love the way the B21 irons look.. Reviews have been very good. but hate the HUGE amount of offset.. Which is a deal breaker for me. I do have a (stupid) question for you.. since you are a highly skilled club fitter/maker. I know it is possible for you to bend an iron many ways (i.e. lie angle, loft, etc) to suite a golfers swing. Is there a way for you to bend this (B21) iron to have MUCH less offset - without damaging the iron??

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  4 года назад +2

      some may yes I say no. However if you like that look and want less offset try out the mavrik max. it is a similar look with less offset

    • @howlingwolf125y
      @howlingwolf125y 4 года назад +2

      @@McGolf Thanks for your tip on the Mav Max with less offset than the B21 iron. I crunched the numbers and there is a SLIGHTLY less offset for the Mav Max.. For the most irons (example 6 - 8 irons) there is about 7% less offset - which is still big amount of offset. I was hoping for more like half (50% or maybe 60% less offset).. Sorry for being a pest but to give me that much less offset on the B21 (or Mav Max) you would almost have to cut of the kink in the neck that causes the massive offset and re-weld the iron head back on. Can you handle that?? (just kidding).. Probably too much work and too much cost. Be nice if Callaway just came out with much less offset version of the B21.. I think that would be a big seller since so many people don't like big amount of offset, but like the easy to hit features of the B21 iron.

      howlingwolf125y I know your dilemma. I went looking for new clubs after 17 years with Calloway X-22. I really, REALLY wanted some Mizuno or Titleist but left it in the hands of my fitter and Trackman.
      Ended up with Mavrik Max. It was blatantly obvious on my length and dispersion even with butt ugly offset.
      So I had to choose.
      Look Marvelous
      Or
      Score Marvelous
      GIR up 30%
      Birdies up 33%
      Double bogies down 75%
      But is that offset ever ugly!

      @howlingwolf125y 4 года назад +1

      @@seanpeacock5595 Thanks Sean for your input.. Wow.. You have some good numbers. I guess I could get used to the offset if it helps my play better. The main thing is that my new clubs must help me beat my evil golf friend. I graduated from High school with my golf oponent about 30 years ago. He is a golf nut and golfs about 10 times more than me (so plenty of practice).. And he has a bad attitude. When he wins he seems to think that somehow makes him superior to me - and smarter and better than me. And he lets me know it. We really are about the same in golf ability. I just hope a good set of irons will help me beat him, so I can keep his mouth shut - and wipe that ugly smile off his ugly face.

      howlingwolf125y THATS hilarious. So I’m 63 and was playing with a 10 handicap last year. So the big question is .....do you want to love what you’re looking at or do you want better golf. Some lucky players get both or will compromise on one.
      Coming from a player’s improvement blade I told the fitter what I’m looking for. A little more forgiveness and generous sweet spot..... here we went...on Trackman......
      Wilson staff Tour blades♥️.......😞
      Mizuno JPX Hot Metal♥️.........😔
      Titleist T200♥️ ...........😞
      Etc
      Etc
      Mavrik Max😕.........Boom!♥️
      I’m not crazy about the looks but knocking 3 off my handicap at 63 years old?
      I’ll take it. Good Luck with your choice.
      #1 priority is a fitter you trust. The rest is just hitting.🏌🏿‍♂️

      Launching 7 iron 18-19 degrees with a 45-46 degree landing angle. But when I hit it out of the screws it seems to knuckle the ball. Getting 195-200 yards of carry and 205-210 total, spinning sub 4500. It’s just frustrating not being able to hold greens with my irons.
