Because my hair is fine, my twists looked scalpy and flat....your parting technique is just what I needed...my twists are now full and on point..thx sis...
I love your parting technique! I think this will be a fabulous process for thinner natural hair to make it appear more full. I can't wait to give this a try on me & my daughter's when we finish with the yarn twist/braids. Thank you so much for sharing this!
LOL 6:06 that feeling you get when you've been waiting HOURS for your hair to be done, and you look in the mirror and realize there's just one more row to go.
Really cleverly, patiently and professionally done. It must feel totally lovely sitting down having hair done by you cos you just know the result will be stunning! Hope your well :)
So I tried this on a client of mine with fine hair and it does work so much better to fill out the hair, and I just finish my set of minitwists and it was not as difficult to keep up with as I thought it would be. I really like using this method. Thanks!!
Best video I have ever seen on 2strand twist. My hair coils up in all directions after twisting. laying them flat and having them move has always been a mystery to me. cant wait to give this a try.
somehow found this a decade later and im so glad that I did. I have 4c hair and have been trying to figure out how to make my twists look fuller since I was 14 & just began braiding my own hair. 2 years later I finally found a video that is perfect for making my thin hair not look so separated when I braid it. thank you
I'm a believer that this low manipulation styling avoids breakage and lets you keep your growth--which will show length in as minimum as 3 months! I love to do two strand twists and leave them in for 2 months. I see lots of growth.
OMG I love this process. I have very fine hair and thought I would never ever be able to wear mini twist with my natural hair. well I tried your technique this past week end and my hair came out so nice I am in love with my mini twists. THANKS SOOO MUCH :-)
thank you so much for this professional and well informative video. I am planning to loc my hair, i am definitely going to use thit technique. thank you so much.
I just found your channel and I am in awe of the amount of info I have learned from you in just a couple of videos. I plan to watch every one of them 😊 Thanks
Thanks for sharing your "secrets" to a great mini twistout...I had been doing them for years but they were always really skinny and flat on my head. This helped me address some of my issues. Keep the vids coming, their much appreciated!
This video was extremely helpful. Due to severe carpal tunnel, I am unable to do my own hair so I'm trying to find someone in my area that can hook-up my hair like you did this lady. Fabulous job!
you did a great job on her hair.. and i love that technique of parting in angles to make the hair fuller.. Im just wait on my TWA to grow .. so i can give this a try.. Thank you for all the wonderful and helpful videos oxox
Thanks sooooo much for this tut.....I ran across your page yesterday(I also subbed) looking up mini twists and I've seen numerous other videos before, but was never inspired to do them, but your's really helped me, so I spent 3 hours this morning doing them, & I LOVE IT!!!!!!!....Thanks again lovely!!! You are an inspiration.....I will be posting a video response on My 1st Mini Twist, just so that you can see how they turned out....Thanks again!!!!
Thanks so much for this video. This is the best video I've seen on the best method of doing mini twists. I have some in now and it looks rather scalpy and skinny, Of course I did it on blow dried hair (comb attachment) and I didn't "stack" the partings. These are some good tips. I will incorporate them the next time I try.
Amazing. I would love to try that on my hair, its almost the lenght of her's. I'm going to check out the blog. I just don't want to think about how long its going to take. God bless your hands girl, keep the teaching going. Peace Angeli
I make the conditioner mix so much for Dimple's hair that I just throw things in a bottle LOL. You want it milkshake consistency--the kind that moves a little ;o) If you put 1ounce of conditioner, put about 1/2 ounce water and 2 tablespoons of oil. That soulds about right. That's the mix I sent her with to moisturize her ends. Thanks for the message beautiful.
I mixed up my favorite conditioner/oil/water mix for her. She's going to spray her ends as needed. She's keeping them in for 2 weeks, so she should be fine. If she has to wash, she's only going to co-wash (no shampoo). and then oil her scalp. I'm following this regimen and my hair is very soft, moisturized and it doesn't tangle.
Loved this in-depth look at the stacking technique. I just did my first set and tried to offset the direction but it ended up sort of scalpy :/ Heading to the blog for more info and I may just re-do a few areas. Much love, Tia! You and Angel look so beautiful!
I am so glad that I found this video. I am currently about to two strand twist my daughter hair and was figuring out ways to make her hair look fuller without seeing parts. I'm just wondering would the stack method work on medium size twist as well. Thank you so much for doing this vid even though I'm a little late seeing it lol
I'm currently rocking the spacy-look so I'm so glad u did this vid. Whenever I do my twists I always pin them up cuz I hate this spacy look. I will definately b upgrading on my next wash. Thank u so much 4 the tip!
Thanks for the Love Mrslewellen! I appreciate the feedback. I try techniques on about 4 different heads of hair, just to see if the results are consistent b4 I even put it to video. Nice to know there's a 5th (or even more thanks to the comments on here) head of hair that this works for.
She will LOVE it. I do it on Dimples hair throughout the school year and we both love it (I love the freedom--b/c she gets up in the morning and ponytails her own hair).
Tell ya best/friend sister to stop worrying about length - we get too caught up in that....... She is gorgeous her current length! Just enjoy the here and now. Tomorrow it'll be another length and another adventure. And YOU.... Just keep doing whatcha do! You's da Bestest!!! :)
You have inspired me to try twist again. I wore it last year, but my hair was shorter and I never stretched it. Many people said I looked like a lesbian smh, so I've been weaved up ever since. My hair is her length now, so I'm going to give them another go.
Sounds like a lot of hair to have a lot of fun with. You got lots of relaxed hair left? I have a technique on the blog for transitioning hair and two strand twists.
I can't wait to try this technique... I have very fine hair so I think this will help it look a little fuller... I hope... I am now a Subscriber... I watched several of your videos today and I must say i am definitely going to try your tips...
Thanks Doll :o) I gave her some Eden Body Works Tea Tree Conditioner in a bottle mixed with some water and oil. Had her spritz that as needed. Her hair took me about 4 hours (with lunch mixed in there somewhere LOL). Thanks for the message!
thAnks for this.see i have trouble parting in a stacked way..im used to the spacey way which i dont like. i have to see the blog cuz i wanna get this down packed. i think its the only thing stopping me from having what i wd call perfect twists or braids. both u girls hair look awesome!!
I used human hair extensions, and I kept them in for about 2 months (moisturizing as needed or daily). They come out really easy. Get whoever puts them in for you to show you how to take them down.
Thank you thank you THANK YOU! Finally someone has posted a video on how to part your hair and prevent the scalpy look! Your vidoe was very informative and so detailed. I also visited the link to read more info and tips. Yayy I want to try twists this weekend. I always have the scalpy look issue so I can't wait to try this. Thanks again! :-) For reals.
Hey Girl! I thought I had watched all of your videos. Then you "popped" out of this one, I was surprised. I'm going to try it, but it looks difficult. Good info, as usual. Thanks.
LOL! Yeah, don't think about how long it takes. Just put on a movie or something. We talked so much that day, we didn't even notice the 3 or 4 hours it took. Thanks for the Love Angeli
Aww she look so pretty with this style,I just did my" big chop" after transitioning for six months, when I get a little more length I will try this style :-)
I've been urging my friend to do these twists a long time ago (even at 4'' of hair). I think twists are beautiful on short length hair! And if I had the time, I would throw some perm rod rollers on her head for a nice "Hally Berry" cropped style once these got old. I think you should try these techniques. You can do it.
I use mirrors to part, but within that parted section I just pull with my fingers. You twist in the direction you want your twist to fall. Most of the time, it will simply be twisting downward. Only when you get to the hairlin you might do some upwards and over twisted direction just so you have the option to flip your hair over to another side. But if that gets to be too much, you can just keep twisting downward. You can do it. Most important: part at a diagonal.
I do have to put my head at a certain angle when I'm doing my own hair--just to get the back proper. It's hard yeah, but I find as my hair gets longer, it takes more time but it gets much easier to position the twists proper.
Wow, this was beautiful. Thanks for the tips, I dont know if I can do this on my own hair but I will try. I know I can do the twist but dont think I can get all the parts slanted.
I truly love your clients hair. I adore your hair as well. Please tell me what type of twists you have. Are they also two-strand twists? What type of add-in hair do you recommend for shorter length natural hair? Thank you for your videos.
I cant' wait to try this techinque. It does create great fullness. I want to know how do you keep up with each section of angles when doing your own hair in the back. Doing them straight across helps me keep up with where I am! lol
this is the best twist tutorial. i hope i have the patience to do this on my own hair. Do you twist each strand/section individually before twisting (rope twist) the strands together?
Thanks Love :o) She's my best friend/sister --and you're right she's extremely spunky and crazy fun LOL! She's given me "full reign" on her natural hair, so I'll be posting more videos with her (she's got some twists with extensions in now).
Yep, your hair can definitely do nice twists. I've been doing twists from the beginning of my all natural length (about 5''). I even did a nice set during transition!
thank you for sharing I did mine before, and as you see on my video they came out cute however I get a lot of shrinkage. I was wondering about if I stretched it out first Im going to try this method thank you!!
I used Eden Body Work Tea Tree Hair milk to twist, but that's not what held her twists. Even though I blow dried, I didn't use the heat to get it straight. I kept most of her texture, and used the heat to swell the hair so that it would stay on it's own. This process doesn't work on every texture hair. Looser textured hair may not stay twisted. I like twists better only because the take-down is easier and my ends wrap up to a secure spiral vs. braids.
Her hair looks wonderful! Thanks for the tips. I always have the spaceship effect going lol. I will definitely check out your blog post and use these tips in my next set of twists. Thank you so much! :-)
Thanks for the message Beautiful! I love to use Eden Body products to twist. I stay away from shea butter and use mostly oils. If you don't have that product in Italy (it's fairly new here)--just use a product with your favorite ingredients. I like to keep it all natural if possible. I use "As I Am co-wash product to co-wash my twists (I don't use shampoo the whole time I have my twists in--avoids knotting). Thanks for the love Italy.
Thanks Love :o) The actual twists are pretty simple to figure out (just practice will make perfect lol!) So I didn't focus at all on the twisting process per se, mainly how to create the perfect texture, properly direct the parting for the hair to lay stacked and show as "full", and how to lay down the twists in the direction you want them to go. This may help to avoid the snakey, scalpy, thin twists that show out as problematic especially on shorter length hair.
Hey! I was using the Eden body works products at the time of this video. I will definitely use that product line again to twist. Lots of good ingredients in that line (many oils). I don't know how much salons are charging for this, but it seems to be a lot. I looked online to price up getting the sides of my head cornrowed small--and the price was about $80.00!!! So I guess it depends. But a full head of twists can be pricey. Google your location 2 c local hair braider
I really like your videos and I like your hair it is exactly like mine. I going to take your advance and do low maintenance styles so my hair can grown. Also, this video really helped learn how to twist my hair probably. Now, what do you use to moisturize the hair while twisting. Okay, waiting for your response. Thanks Mintie Jo from Italy
You are awesome. What did you use to keep her hair moisturized while twisting and how long did it take you? I would have never thought to section the hair diagonally for stacking. Great job.
I am about to two-strand twist my own hair and I always watch this video before beginning. Your layering technique is really good. Thanks!!
i must agree! its on point! did mine and although i didnt follow exactly everything they came out great! now i will try and film a takedown video lol
LOL 6:06 that feeling you get when you've been waiting HOURS for your hair to be done, and you look in the mirror and realize there's just one more row to go.
Ricia Love so true
Honestly one of the BEST 2 strand twist I have seen.I will re-visit this on my hair this summer.Great job girl!
Really cleverly, patiently and professionally done. It must feel totally lovely sitting down having hair done by you cos you just know the result will be stunning! Hope your well :)

This is the same way I started my loc's. ( : You did a beautiful job!
The best tutorial for short and medium hair twists! You get it - minimum spaces, fullness and some stretch without needing to add extensions. Thanks!
OMG I love this process. I have very fine hair and thought I would never ever be able to wear mini twist with my natural hair. well I tried your technique this past week end and my hair came out so nice I am in love with my mini twists. THANKS SOOO MUCH :-)

The model is so pretty 😍
Yea she is stunning.
Gorgeous!! I'm so trying this TOMORROW. how long did it take? And for the thumb downs y'all silly the best I've seen.
I love the finished look. The thickness makes it look like you added hair. Very very pretty!

where are you? these twists look phenomenal!
how do you finish the two stand twist? I think it's important to know bcs mine shrink almost immediately and unravel
Love the twists and parting style, I will try it next after I remove my braids. Thank you for sharing!
This tutorial was excellent and her hair looks great!!! Thinking about trying this style first before I dread it

I love it! Thanks for showing that technique because I twisted my hair in straight lines and it was a waste of time. So I am going to try this.
You have inspired me to try twist again. I wore it last year, but my hair was shorter and I never stretched it. Many people said I looked like a lesbian smh, so I've been weaved up ever since. My hair is her length now, so I'm going to give them another go.

Phenomenal Job!!!! You did a superb job on her hair. I want to try this on my hair

Great video! I love the way you explained every step in detail. It made me want you to do my hair, lol
I love the way you twist her natural hair I hate the box looked and brading at a slant is great! Thank you

i really like it, how you parted, the size of them, her length everything!
I love the job you did on her two strand twists.
I just tried this style yesterday and I started late but it took me at less 5 hrs. Thank you!!
This was SUPER helpful. The client is a stunner too. So going to try this!
Hey Girl! I thought I had watched all of your videos. Then you "popped" out of this one, I was surprised. I'm going to try it, but it looks difficult. Good info, as usual. Thanks.

New subscriber 😁First time seeing the twist on this length of hair it's pretty 👍
This is truly nice work! I will defiantly have to try this technique.
twist master! they came out great & i know she's loving them.
Aww she look so pretty with this style,I just did my" big chop" after transitioning for six months, when I get a little more length I will try this style :-)
Should i use any product on the hair while twisting it ?
And yes natural hair is beautiful regardless of what Hollywood says.😃😃😃💜💙💛❤
I've been urging my friend to do these twists a long time ago (even at 4'' of hair). I think twists are beautiful on short length hair! That was beautiful. I was considering adding hair to my twists, but after watching you, I don't think I need it.
I was looking for a video to help me do twists and I'm already your stubbie !
Awesome
Looks really good. Wish u could come & do my hair here in south Florida. Good technique not sure I could do it in myself
thank you for sharing I did mine before, and as you see on my video they came out cute however I get a lot of shrinkage. I was wondering about if I stretched it out first Im going to try this method thank you!!
Definitely doing this on my hair this summer. Super cute!!
Your hair model is Gorgeous! liked the twists too.

Nice video. Twists are a nice style. Saves time during the week.
Her hair looks wonderful! Thanks for the tips. I always have the spaceship effect going lol. I will definitely check out your blog post and use these tips in my next set of twists. Thank you so much! :-)

I love this way for two strand twists. Are you in the Michigan area or know of someone who does them like you?
Didn't think I would like this but it actually looks nice!
wow! She is gorgeous. Great job on her hair.
I will be using your parting technique cuz i hate the spacey look between my twists. Thank you!
Thanks for responding so quickly. I'm a new fan.
Thank you for this tutorial!! I saw it and had to do it!!! I love it!! Took forever but its gorgeous!!!
The model's is so beautiful. ..how do u maintain it? For instance washing your hair and sweating from exercising. ...
I want to do my hair like this so bad but I workout and I sweat a lot through my scalp. My question is will it last and how long?
This video inspired me to do twists again. It took me 4 hours but it turned out really nice. Btw I love her green shirt. Where did she get it?
Hey! I was using the Eden body works products at the time of this video. I will definitely use that product line again to twist. Lots of good ingredients in that line (many oils).
Great job.
