    This is the 10th video I've watched and finally understood how to keep the card the size I wanted it, and the first video I've understood "the how to" make an edge card. Not even the Cricut "how to" videos helped. THANK YOU FOR MAKING IT SIMPLE - EASY! ♥ ALMEDIA.

    Thank you, Narelle. Your tutorial is very easy to follow and you explain everything so well. You have taught me a different way to make the Side Edge cards which I am eager to try now. I think using the Slice tool, as you have done, will make it a bit easier to create the card base and layers.

    Hi Narelle,

    Thank you for that. I recently watched Tamara's tutorial and while it was a bit easier than the others I've seen, the technique is still imprecise and fiddly. I knew there was a way to do it this way and began to play with it but didn't have the patience to figure it out. LOL. Thank you for all the work that it took go through the trial and error of figuring it out for me!

      The Contour option will only be available if there is more than one contour. If it’s just a solid shape you can skip that step. If you need more troubleshooting help feel free to tag me in a post at facebook.com/groups/cricutexploreandmore with a screenshot of your project. 🙂

    Hi Narelle, & thanks for this tutorial! I just have one question. When you make the double side edge card, & you make 2 squares to put inside of it, wouldn’t you have to make them thinner, in order to not stick out beyond the edge of the card? When I’ve done this, I just put a square over the one side of the card, unlock it, & size it by eye, so it won’t stick out. If you have another way to do it, I’d love to know! Thanks again. 🙂

    • @thenoncraftycrafter
      @thenoncraftycrafter  3 года назад +2

      I did forget that bit in the video in my rush to get it recorded. You do indeed need to make the inside pieces shaped the same as the card base. You can use the original shaped piece and use the offset button but make them insets by using -0.125. 😊

    Your tutorial was great. I do have a question though...when I close the card the bottom shows behind the cut out image. Is it supposed to? I only cut one side.

    • @thenoncraftycrafter
      @thenoncraftycrafter  2 года назад

      Yes, the only way to avoid that is to make the back shaped as well.

  • @catherinepci7594
    @catherinepci7594 2 года назад

    Using the offset behind the image at the end of each project, is that just a design choice or does it serve a function? In other words, can you just place the flowers or ice cream directly on the card or do you need that offset shadow piece? Thx.

      I've had a play and while I've worked out the basic steps, I can't get consistent results. So it will take me longer than I thought to do a tutorial. I am working on one that shows the process in Sure Cuts a Lot and saving as a SVG. I believe that SVG's can be imported into CanvasWorkspace.
