Taylor Big Baby "Neck Reset"

- Ok, not really a neck reset. But, I've done videos of their other neck joints, why not do one for the Big Baby too? Very simple and quick. I just roll this in with a set up at no extra charge.

Very informative, thanks for covering this topic. I've been on the fence whether I should do it myself (would be a first time ever on my 2010ish Taylor BB), or just eat the $50.00+ and have a certified Taylor pro do it for me. Action is conspicuously high on the 12th fret low E end. The notion of making it a pet project is becoming more appealing watching videos like yours after recently getting a couple of new intermediate level quality acoustic guitars. So probably should learn sometime. Cheers!
Looks quick and easy! Can you tell me where you got those skinny neck shims that you used? I have the same problem with my big baby
I don't remember where I got mine, but searching guitar neck shim on Amazon brings up a lot of them.
I emailed Taylor to see about getting shims for my big baby as well but they are in no rush whatsoever to get those over to me. The default shim that came with it is size 12. So I probably need a size up or 2 from that to lower the action. I was thinking about using a credit card. I’ll save money that way too 😂
Well this is weird. I was just talking about how my Taylor big baby guitar has neck issues, AND I live in Minnesota.

No, it's not a bolt on neck, it's a screwed on neck. The other Taylors, with the NT neck joints, have bolt on necks.
