This was truly an amazing performance after seeing it the other night. I cannot express how thrilled I was with the whole thing, the songs were incredible, the characters were of oh so endearing to watch, especially Watari, and the story was sized down without missing a beat, or feeling like anything was missing! I loved how the other two "forgotten/never known" pianists were there to help them with the bikes, as it fleshed out their characters as passionate adversaries within the limited time they had in the stage-play that I have absolutely nothing but admiration for the producers and those involved in adapting the manga series for the stage floor! Everyone in the cast was fantastic, and the Piano solo from Kosei was IMPRESSIVE! Must of taken him AGES to learn that! The way the violin and piano were presented generally I also thought was so clever, and kid Kosei was such a charmer~ And for my girlfriend with me who hadn't seen the anime like me, she was so moved to find out the ending. It really was just fantastic, I wish I could see it again!
Went to the premiere last night and was absolutely blown away!!!! It was INCREDIBLE 😍❤️ I need the soundtrack asap! The singing and music was INSANE!!! 😍

Saw this on Tuesday with my son - I'm not a great fan of musicals but I was blown away by the performances and production. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. I was mesmerised by Kosei's piano solo - does anyone know the title - is it well known or was it written especially?
spoiler for the musical . . . . . . the letter wasn't a song. his reaction to the letter was the song, because kaori wasnt around to make music anymore. somehow it was even more of a gut punch 😭😭😭

@@JuanAlvarado.251 It was amazing! The staging & choreography was really good. one of the things I really enjoyed is that they put the violinist from the orchestra in the center of the stage (with higher platforms around them for actors to stand on), so whenever Kaori was playing her violin, she'd turn her back to the audience and the lights would focus on the actual violinist - who was now playing her character. It totally worked for me and I really liked that it emphasised how much work the orchestra put into making the show happen. Felt like it really fit with the themes of the show. The cast were incredible singers and had really fun comedic chemistry. It was so fun to get to hear the songs from the Japanese cast recording in English for the first time (I thought the translation was pretty decent - sometimes not the most poetic, but the emotions in the music still shone through). I cried at the end.
@@Moocow2003 Hey! Me again hehe! I just had to reply to this lol. I agree I loved that they put the violinist in the centre too! It was such a lovely idea, that worked so well! Honestly sameeee, I was absolutely balling; I was still crying when I got out of the theatre 🤣😭

It’s a great big world but we’re so small
And my eyes will never see it all
But I won’t forget we share this awesome view
Remember day beneath cherry blossom sky
Remember april you and I

One hundred thousand million stars here a billion wishes just like ours
If just one of them would listen
imagine all that it could do
I wish until the morning sun
And wish again until the one
In a hundred thousand million stars comes through
(Chorus end)

If there’s footprints on the moon today
If the burning sun survives each day
What’s the chances that here on earth that we’ll make it too

There’s so much more out there than what we see
There is endless possibilities
One more chance to watch a perfect dream come true

The bridge the music even now

...I sat here speechless, trying to get my brain to comprehend that one of my favorite heart renching animes, is going to be a musical!
I still cant believe this thing was directed by MATPAT of all people
He was a co-producer, not the director.
So excited for this musical, I love the anime and MatPat is the co-producer? Could not think of anything better for this!
Wow wow wow wow wow wow wow wow so awesome and amazing vocals
SO excited to see this tomorrow !!!!!
