@@tabletopforone Thank you for that perspective! I backed it for the base game plus both expansions. I'm going to follow along for the updates to see what information there is as far as how much the expansions affect the solo game and how the AI interacts with those modules. And then I'll decide if to hang onto the expansions or drop my pledge down to just the base game.
I think the Achievements expansion will have the most impact solo due to the variability it adds to the game. I'm not sure the AI is affected by either expansion, but should work seamlessly with both (maybe a minor rule tweak for the cabins that don't match up)

Absolutely fair review. It seems like there's a lot of really neat stuff going on. Unfortunately a game that comes out immediately with expansions is troublesome to me.
Yeah, I generally agree. I think here, though, they have been working on the game for years, with the expansion content tested for a while (rather than thrown together for the sake of $$). And with them being a new publisher, it was probably better to sell them now, to complete their image of what they wanted the game to be, and to keep base game costs low. However, they are planning to expand it again later. All that said, the expansions aren't "essential," in my opinion, but at the same time I'd like them.

You're welcome! Since you enjoy Scholars, you'll likely enjoy this too. Scholars may be a tad more restrictive and heavy, though, by comparison.
