I think the Lacerda feel comes a little from the element in his games where regardless of what you do, you have to do A and B and C in your choice of order before doing D. You see this in Kanban, Weather Machine and his new one Inventions for sure. Galactic Cruise wants you to plan a route, sell tickets, build the rocket, get the resources - before you actually take the flight. That similar cadence - as opposed to a Feld, for instance, where its more about "do as much as the stuff as you like and it'll get you points' without that build up and climax, is what rings that Lacerda bell. That said, you also see this in things like Suchy's Shipyard - so it's not unique.
I got to play on the Dice Tower Cruise. Really loved it. The theme fits so well. I think graphically, it looked great. The round trackers that take the "cubes" need some design upgrade/graphics. But I assume that will happen by finished game.
I think you just pushed me over the edge. I am trying to consume less boardgame content, but i have seen this game around. I just watched heavy cardboard play-trough and liked it. I came here to cool down my FOMO. Because you are very rational about games and me and my wife match almost perfectly with your picks. This game ticks a lot of our boxes.
It is a super good game (for us)! If you usually enjoy quite a bit of the same games as we do, I do think there is a high chance you will enjoy this one! Thank you so much for watching!
Crap. I should have read the comments of others before making my own. It appears I'm not alone in my initial impressions. In any case, LOVE you guys! :)
Hard one…The Gallerist isn’t the Lacerda game I have played the most, and I am unsure if I have played with two. Galactic Cruise works really well for two, and I wouldn’t be sad to have it for only that player count. :) Hope it helps a little bit at least 😅
I love it with 2 as well! Since you are mostly blocking for yourself, and with the bumping and dummy player with 2 (no work, no turns, just blocking that moves around) it workes really well!
Looks like a great game, but what is up with that cube in a non-cube shaped cutout? Everyone should've learned by kindergarten that that ain't gonna fit
Hey there! Designer and publisher (and, coincidentally, elementary school teacher) here. Somehow, their prototype copy was missing the three triangular pieces that are used to track the goals, so they just used 3 progress cubes of an unused color as a placeholder. Rest assured, the final version (and even the versions that you'll see in most other reviews/previews) will not have cubes as trackers there. 🚀
The theme is dry as burnt toast, and I found it overly long and complicated for the payoff. Blasting your rocket off should be exciting, but it's done all in one step, even though there's a "countdown track". Icon hell on every tile. Huge table hog. You are a monkey grinder- the game plays you, you don't choose how to play the game. If you like Agricola or other games where you have to do A and B and C regardless of what you want to do, then you will like this. Not for me.

That makes sense! Thank you for posting your thoughts :)
Thanks once again, you two, I had a good time, as usual.
Thank you :) Glad you enjoyed it :D
This looks fantastic. Looks like a very lacerda esque in the best way. The theme is very cool!
We have been loving our plays :D

Thank you for the nice words! Glad you’re enjoying thr videoes!
If you would have to choose between Gallerist and this game, which would you choose?

Would you guys recommend this game for 2P only? Does it scale well or does it feel very open?

@BoardGamingRamblings Would you say the 2P 'feel' is similar to Kanban EV, with how the dummy player plays and how open/tight the game feels?
Man, this looks SOOO Lacerda-like.
The art from Ian O'Toole helps :D

Haha, yes! I was planning to not have that in pictures :P As commented, it was just missing, and I didn't understand the traingle shape :P

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Luckily all games aren't for everyone! I love this one so much, but it will not be for everyone!
