Kai is super nice and humble guy. He has built a studio near his home and he gives drumming lessons from there . If you haven’t seen the Wintersun drum cams with Kai you are in for a treat

The versatility all of them Nightwish musicians have to pull off during their shows is mind-boggling.
Agreed. That one is just incredible. So much variation and he playes it with such ease.
Recently, i saw footage from a special small club show Kia did with his son in Finland. They were individually and together, drumming to Nightwish or other songs. Very cool. It was the first time I saw a small club show for only drummers.

Yes, that was for his 50th birthday. He had show "Alone" in that club and played songs from all the bands he has been in. Only drums were live, because it would have been impossible to get all other bandmates there at the same time (also he only played few songs from each band). It was great show (i've heard).

You NEED to do Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars, live Sonic Pump Studios to see Kai what Kai can really pull off.
As for cymbals, I think he uses Sihi Cymbals.
