Wow that could very well be my dads guitar. He bought a D28 when he was stationed in Japan. (USAF) Of course he brought it home. It had the stamp. I may not even exist if he wouldn't have had his ol' Martin. He was playing it at a park in Gardenia and a crowd began to gather. My mom was in the crowd and caught Pop's eye. So thanks Martin & Co. I owe you my life. Lol. Sadly, Dad sold in 77 for like $200. :-(
Great story that’s awesome
@@wynningames Wow, that's awesome man!
The tone in that piece of lumber... just fantastic.
That's the Christmas gift for this 61 yo from Australia. Happy Holidays.
Hey! Hey! CALIFORNIA DREAMIN on such a Winter's Day!
The magic of these live "Guitar of the Day" videos is past and it is missed.
Those guitars are so significant to all of our music of today.great work Mark.great job on gotd!!!
As soon as Mark started picking, in my head I heard half the albums I listened to growing up in the 60s & 70s.
Once again your playing is real honest and pretty right on! Thanks!
Love the shots through the guitars on the floor.
Lovely stuff as usual. I have a D28, in fact everyone should own one as I believe it's rude not to.
Que hermoso sonido tiene esta guitarra , nos transporta a la época en que fue construida y , la verdad sea dicha , esos materiales que la constituyen ya no los encuentras en la actualidad .
No matter where my musical tastes take me, I will always have a big section of my heart set aside for Led Zeppelin 💖
The acoustic tone of the ages...Absolutely Prototypical....when you want a Real Acoustic sound, ain't nothing like the "working class" Martins and Gibsons...don't need no abalone to have good tone! Hi Mark!
Outstanding
1-Going To California
2-Hey Hey What Can I Do- Zeppelin
sweet guitar' what a beauty'
Loved the Going to California cover!
Yeah. That's the good stuff. Sounds perfect even through my cell phone. Nice!!
Yeah Vibe!
I have a 1957 D-28, in museum quality. Martin factory looked it over a few years ago. Was originally owned and played in concerts by Ola Belle Reed on the folks / bluegrass circuit in Eastern PA + Maryland + Sunset park and all the spots.
Sounds just lovely, thanks for showing it to us!
That thing has a sweet tone. Love to have an old Martin.
I look forward to this every Friday!
Thanks Mark!!!!! What beautiful Page illustrations that show why he chose this guitar to write these songs!!!!! I learn soo much from ya man thanks!!!!!!
Fantastic.
Brilliant
Great performance Mark, and I always appreciate the free lessons you covertly hand out on GOTD!
Get the Led out! Sounds incredible!
Dude you absolutely slayed going to California. Awesome job on both but I know that was a toughy to pull off that clean!
Excelente qualidade....Parabens
see I luv it when you get into the details of the guitar like that , your knowledge and passion really come through and it's fascinating to learn all this lore and detail , you really know your stuff. A Martin is at the top of my list as far as my next guitar goes , I certainly couldn't afford this classic but ti's nice to see and hear , great work on this set Mark , luv it when you get the Led out , thanks.
I've dug the last few offerings but this just sounds 'right' . One of those No S/S things. Its a well played D28.
Double thumbs up, classic guitar with a great set list!
Enjoyed that Zeppelin tribute, Mark. Its a Shame that Earls Court is gone.
Mark knows how to sell guitars, that is a fact, but he plays them good too..... Today i needed the emotion you put on '' going to california... thanks Mark!!!
Nice tone on that one.
I can dig it.
@@michaelhake8568 even they can dig it , like in music things resolve naturally
Love it.
Great all around guys.
MORE ZEPPELIN BABY!!
God I love Led Zeppelin so much. Thanks.
You should talk about what a neck reset is: what''s involved, why it's needed, and what caused it.
Right on. A monthly hour w Joel doing major surgery - that would be worth the Patreon thing (with proceeds going to the Midnight Mission)
@@HBSuccess ...agree
@Rage Theatre2020 ..agree with you too
Yes! 👍
@@boss123400 ...Frank Stallone need a neck reset?
Hey guys just a suggestion when you announce the sold guitars from previous episodes can you say where they went to. Would show your reach. 57 LP triple pickup Custom, yeah thats on its way to Duluth MN. Just a thought.
Freaking canon. Amazing tone
Love me some Zep!
Oh hell ya🤘 Mighty Zep on a 28
Nice job
The sustain on those old wood Martins is amazing!!
Turd Ferguson I agree! The new aluminum martins just aren’t the same as the oldies
Great picking Mark..you show how how great Page new what a acoustic should sound like..rockin pickin melodic...
Damn that wood just has no stopping , infinite sound
Awesome buddy
I want that ICONIC Orange ladder
Excellent picking there

Tim Pierce hey man, it's my moms b-day too! Happy birthday man!
carrickbender thanks! 😎
How much do we have to donate to the Patreon for you not to do a bass next Thursday?
.....lol
John Springer they’re deleting negative comments on multiple videos relating to patreon . For the benefit of future potential viewers I guess who read the comments section. This comment also will be deleted soon ?
pablo9364 if they are deleting comments it means they are upset over the reaction.
@@rickjason215 ...pablo9364 has a very good point at a Business standpoint
pablo9364 I guess they’re gonna be putting in some OT because there’s a lot of them
I'm as old as that guitar.
Santa, I would like that.
57 Martin and Chevy

Rocking the Zeppelin. I dig it the most.

Hey Hey What Can I Do🎶🎶
That. Sound. Gah!

Nice , hoping you would give us some Zep , not disappointed.
Way to play Jimmy Agnesi, Mark Page! Very nice. Byeeeeeee Jen!

That thing is sweet
Almost my birth year guitar (1956)!
Me too (1958). We put a bracket around it. Great sounding geetar.
Hey I got seniority mine is ( 1954)!
Wow! Maybe as cool as a '57 Chevy.
Even cooler
MARK ZEPPELIN
Very effen awesome guitar ‼️ Great sounds and great songs 👍🏼
Was it standard to have 2 dots on the 7th fret? If so when was it changed to 1 dot?
How do we submit the set list for the t-shirt completion? Do we just put a list in each days comments for each?
Info in the description
Song 1: Going to California - Led Zeppelin
Song 2: Hey Hey What Can I Do - Led Zeppelin
I wish I had an accountant like that...
crusherbmx no shit. Mine just says "who are you and why are you in my office?"
So so sweet
It would be nice if you guys would mention the retail price of these guitars.
That’s a sweet sounding D28. Awesome playing man
I get the feeling Norm likes to have people call or email and compete for it to drive up the price " hey this guy just called and i told him 4 grand but if you want to out bid him..." some do it like this some don't
gus dupree I get doing things that way but I know people see these and just assume they are out of their price range. If the price was mentioned, people would realize they might be able to afford one.
@@wyattsdad8561 i hear you but does Norm?..
You cant fake this. A Martin is a pros best freind and a noobs worst nightmare. You cant hide from a martin. It will find your weakness and put it on blast.
Looks like a little JACKET WEAR ON THE BACK, MARK !! STILL IN GOOD SHAPE, GOING TO CALIFORNIA IS A RISKY PROPOSITION, ITS GOT STORIES TO TELL!!!
When I play new guitars I often like mahogany better than rosewood. When I listen to vintage guitars I like rosewood better. Maybe rosewood takes a really long time to sound its best? New it just sounds a bit too dark to me.
Sick playing...Zeppelin and Martins is best ....
How many guitar picks do you suppose are between the couch cushions?
Ha! After reading this i thought about my own couch,i found 3...thanks man, ive Been lookin' for those
Someone told me there’s a girl out there.....with love in her eyes .... and flowers....in her haiiiirrrr. Darn tootin !!
sixty2jeff god flippity damn, is that a beautiful song or what?
Hey
Tone Monster... Broad where a Gibson has that midrange definition. Love D-28
Oh man just purchased my own one of these (Not Vintage but still expensive)! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Jethro Tull
MARK AGNESI: END GAME
