The Huracan Performante Spyder is, as the name describes, the soft-top version of Lamborghini's practically perfect small sports coupe. Making the same 640 HP from its naturally aspirated V10 and featuring the incredible (Audi-shared) dual-clutch gearbox, All-wheel.drive, and "ALA" active aerodynamics, the Performante has the goods to deliver an incredibly visceral top-down motoring experience.
Lamborghini of North America provided the vehicle, insurance, and a tank of fuel for this review.
Some things I forgot to talk about in the video:
- ALA is amazing, but you rarely have any idea it's working until you try to drive REALLY fast in one of the modes where it's disabled.
- CarPlay is terrible in all applications where there isn't a central MMI screen and the only screen is the gauge cluster (I'm also looking at you, Audi TT and R8).
- The scrolling knob is backwards, like all Audi's, but it's time they all got with the program.
- I did say this in the video, but it deserves re-iterating: I experienced a pretty crazy amount of lower back pain for like 4 solid days after doing 400 miles in the Performante. If you're over like 5'10" seriously, don't even bother. If there is a less comfortable car available on the market today for $360,000, I don't know what it is.
Thanks for watching! - MF
Sweet video Matt! What sunglasses are you wearing in this?
How would rate the overall driving experience compared to the acura nsx?
I think Mercedes does this too. I was in. W212 E550 recently and it was so confusing
Matt, with all the stem cell injection procedures, prp and who knows what else, have you not found one that helps? I remember you mentioned you've had surgery but have you looked into any of those other options? That shit is only going to get worse with age.
@@claytonluke81 Lol like he's going to reply to any of you
A rolling felony for sure
do you notice how the camera records him blowing past 30 mph speed signs at 80-100 mph? In some states they can watch this on youtube and get a warrant to arrest you.....NOT a smart move putting this on youtube.
@@chadhaire1711 hes doing this in cali im sure the law there is very loose, they wouldnt ticket him for such things😂😂😂
It is Still evidence is a court of law showing a major violation of the law, and on youtube forever.....NOT a wise move. It would be easy to edit it out.
@@stefanfreestylez 😂😂😂
@@chadhaire1711 No, the video can't be used as evidence because Matt isn't filming the speedometer. That's why all auto journalists are safe when they post videos online, they never film the dashboard.
His head sticks out the top
Matt sticks out on all sides.
Always.
Just like Magnum PI’s did in his 308 😉!
Huracan Spyder is def not made for anybody over 5'10
Just like his titties
One take shorter than 20 minutes = Matt for sure
Matt drives every new/press car
Also it’s a new car.
Drives the same distance in a shorter time
Matt’s got places to be and weed to smoke
I see matt still gets the really fun one takes lol. Great video!
Pays to be the boss!
Thinking same thing
Lack of trust probably.
He said that from the beginning.

Wonderful sound
Lamborghini better never get rid of the V10 and V12 cars. Great video, thank you!
They probably will, come 2022-2023 or so
Dew well they’ll become irrelevant if they do
They just discontinued the v10 same with Audi they might get rid of the v12 too

Let 'em come. Most are more curious about the car and driver than actually writing a citation. And for those Sheriffs of Nottingham - pay their thieving tickets and continue driving that car the proper way. 100% worth it.
15:23 Nice Save ,, gotta keep the Lambo dealer happy..

Michael Rodriguez For God Sake!
Came expecting a dragged log encounter. Left having witnessed Matt talking about holes and leather play. And that clown car effect with the driver's head poking out of the passenger compartment with that yellow cap. That NA sound... wow.
But does it pass the 95dB test?
@@Ford_Raptor_R_720hp_V8 Did I say it had?
It’s stock right?
Keith Johnson - Shelby GT500 there’s no way the car complies to that
The « normal mode » is under the limit I guess while sport mode is noiser but cops test the normal mode noise. At least it’s like this in Europe.
Lambos usually aren't my thing but I'm really liking the design on this one and, as always, the fantastic sound.
Matt with the beanie and sunglasses is the BOSS. Also, the car sounds like an F1, which is super cool!
It sounds good, but no road car comes close to an NA F1 sound.
@@5887MXX AMG Project One should be able change that
MrAnnihilator22 It doesn't sound as good as an N/A F1 car though
@@MrAnnihilator22 the project one doesnt sound like an f1 car, because its legally not allowed to, and the formula one engine it is trying to mimic isnt even a real f1 engine
Carlo Stefani what F1 are you watching? Sounds nothing like an F1 car
God it's just gorgeous in this spec...what a dream car! Incredible to think that's one of the fastest cars around the Nürburgring.
Wow Matt thanks for this ride in this fantastic Lamborghini and what a road. We don’t have those roads in The Netherlands.
Come visit and use turo to get something cool. He always drives in the Angeles Crest Highway (the 2) just north of Los Angeles. Also Big/Little Tujunga in the same mountain range.
Net sa eamelje jong.
Absoluut een bezoek waard!
visit usa and rent supercar on turo app
@@m1l3s27 He has much nicer roads available to him in Europe, so why would he bother?
I feel for the motorists in the tunnel with Matt 🤗
They had an experience that most people live through their whole lives not experiencing (especially non-car enthusiasts). So yeah, I do feel for them. I feel happy for them.
He did them a favor!
The downshifts are musical.
This has to be one of my favorite One Takes by Matt. His words were as good as the biggest British reviewers we all watch.
Agreed 👍
I don't think I've ever seen you cover more ground in any of your vids. Or smile as much 😊
There’s no way that exhaust fits the 95 dB limit. 🙄
Good!
Great
The Gauge Cluster reminds me of an AP1 S2000. God those pops in Deceleration!
It looks like a clown car with your head sticking out above the windshield like that.
With that wing it looks like a stroller
A very cool clown car
Damn he be driving fast on those turns 😂
Those 16:27 runs so fast. Really enjoyed your type of review. I left a thumbs up.
Greetings.
I have had 911 turbo, 911 turbo Cab, R8, R8 V10 Spyder, Huracan 610-4 and now '19 Perf Spyder. I have also driven the Aventador, 570S and number of others in this category and none come close to this. This car is the pinnacle of them all. I am 5' 7 so the roof is not a problem. The sound is so amazing. The appeal is so fulfilling to me. The 0-60 is 2.3; faster than Bugatti, La Ferrari, Aventador, 918 Spyder. Not another car I would prefer.
Yay no Zack...Need 'Huracan' in the video title...The car community has already moved onto the EVO.
Matt is booking it in this video! Around 10:50 that has to be an unspeakable speed.
Having driven the road he's on many times in a variety of cars (thanks Turo), the time in which he knocks it out in this is serious speed
I own both Lamborghini performante and McLaren 720's. When I drive to town and the young kids asked me to give it the Rev I sheepishly smile and drive on. Because there is no rev sound on a McLaren. Now the Lamborghini on the other hand is another story. Both a great cars both of very fast down the McLaren is much faster in a straight line. The Lamborghini though is more exciting and thrilling to drive any day. It is also faster in maneuverability around a track
Good job on the belt ad Matt. Actually made me sit through it for once. Too bad I'm too cheap to spend more than 18 bucks on a belt....
This is your best vid to date bar none! Bravo buddy!
I had a chance to drive one of these for 3000 km in Europe for 7 days. The car is a blast to drive no question, but it is by far the least comfortable way to travel long distances for a tall guy. Even an Alfa 4C seemed more spacious inside.
agree. I'm 6 ft 3. Drove one for an hour and had back pain and leg cramps for the next 3 days..
Did it have the regular seats or the carbon buckets? The regular seats are reasonably comfortable the carbon buckets are torture tools. It is a slightly uncomfortable car to drive because of the weird seating position and dash super far forward (and A pillar).
@@stefndogg It had regular sport seats, almost the same spec as in this video. The main problem for me was the lack of legroom. Audi tt has more legroom ffs.
Show me any Gallardo or Huracan that is comfortable to drive. They are not intended for touring or travel. From home to work, or from home to the track...that's about as long as I can stand to drive one. Sort of a "should you meet your heroes" scenario. You might be disappointed if your expectations are not accurately constrained to the purpose of the car.
Its never the car...if you get backpain from driving, your back is the problem, not the car.
much theater. much fun. lovin this car.
It'd be even more fun with a manual. Lighter too, probably....
This is why I laugh when out of state car guys talk shit on California. Try doing this in the Midwest.... in February LOL
1tokeover I don’t think anyone denies Cali is beautiful. Sadly it’s just everything else that’s wrong lol.
Never understood the purpose of convertible versions of track cars
The only way it would be worth it is if the chassis stiffness remained the same and didn't push the weight up 200-400 lbs.
For the rappers lol
Well, when i was a track snob I felt the same way... now after a superleggera coupe, perf. coupe and now a perf spyder I'm thinking, why not sooner? After owning and driving real track cars the perf coupe is amazing for the job however most won't ever hit the track in it. the spyder chassis feels very very rigid, somehow even a tad stiffer than coupe... anyway here in fla the experience of a spyder is otherworldly, however if I lived full time in NY again a coupe would suit me better.
i know all over the place just some random thoughts
Cuz ppl ain't trackin them
tommy d u b b s yeah thats the sad part. A car with huge track credentials, and yet most wont probably see one. Rather most will probably just be roaming the streets at 10 mph or be garage queens. Its special cars like these where i really wish Lamborghini chose better owners who will actually use the cars to their full potential
lol if only there was a way i knew how fast he was going into these turns
reminds me of Mario Go Kart seeing matt's head stick over the top @3:47
must suck to be so big and wide that your head sticks out the car lmao... reminds me of that meme with the big dude in the mini cooper
Your poor dome piece sticking out of the roof line lolol
Great video man... loved every second. Actually. I might watch it again.. That exhaust note!!!
I'd love to drive that highway someday, its perfect canyon driving
I'm 5"10, so i should be alright, only if i was not missing the money to buy it. What a wonderful car.
Just picked up mine yesterday
This revised V10 sounds a bit like a V12 when it's close to the redline!
There’s always another bad ass car in the background ... i love that
By the looks of this video, feeling of speed with this car is sensational
Fun car to drive. Love the sound and the smooth shifts.
Pls do a vid on your urban safari Porsche w/rebuilt motor next.
Holy crap - that thing sounds great at every RPM
Finally Matt is back, I never watch the videos with the other guy my god its good to be able to watch this channel again
2:46 that roof line is up to his chin. Same problem with r8 spyder. If youre above 186cm or so youre not going to like the seating position in these cars lol. How do they fuck something like that up though? Theyre german its not like they made it in some asiam country where everyones short....
To the ppl that say Matt only says wee when your car is slow... Untrue
I love how Matt’s head with that orange hat sticks up out the top of the car as he drives away
With the sport seats (carbon option), a tall guy would have more space.
...and compressed discs...
Sign Says Speed Limit 50 mph Radar Checked......hahahhahahahaha
Looks badass but it would be awkward here you would just be an asshole with a Lamborghini. I see i8s and some nice tuners
Matt is wearing a Fandango 😂
Nice review. I notice you are driving on very flat roads. If you get it on a bumpy road is isn't so good!!! Trust me!!
I know that tall people are uncomfortable with this can't because of the view (due to the windshield top bar) and because of the leg room, but you're saying that people from 5'10" and below can experience back pain, this thing confuse me a little 🤔. Also, I'm 5'10"
photos.app.goo.gl/yDvitj2abZ9pcbPg6. My rides. The blue SV roadster I traded in for the McLaren. In some ways I'm sorry I did. While I like the McLaren it does not have the build quality no the great sound and looks. Just the sound of the car was enough to pay the money and to enjoy riding it.the McLaren is a great car but that's it just a great car.it would be like driving a Tesla roadster very fast but boring and quiet.for those who are calling Lamborghini ugly it has to be the jealousy or just blindness
You can have a Tesla roadster that can go 0 to 60 in 1 second. You can have any future electric car. I'll take a naturally-aspirated vehicle any day over all the b******* cars that are coming in the future. Just step a pedal and go how f****** boring
good to see you back Matt! LUVYA
The seating position in this car is an absolute mystery... would ditching the electric seats not have allowed for the seat to get lower? I know people who have had a coupe and a spider and they can't take the spider around the track without having the roof on. They went back to a coupe (we're in England, the opportunity to roof down isn't all that much most of the year anyway). Even then they say their heads on an angle with a helmet on. Also heard that their backs hurt from extended driving. I don't get how Lambo can get the seating so wrong, when nobody complains in an R8. Also (being 6' 1")there's no complaints driving a 488 spider with helmet on and still have space above. Having said all that...that engine doh! Surely it should have been this car that was "noise only" vid earlier in the week :P looking forward to the GT3 RS :P
Iona performante and absolutely it is very hard to sit in I have a long torso and if I sit up straight my head hits the ceiling of the ragtop. But I have to tell you it is a blast to drive 😁
Where is this filmed? would love to take my m3 there? angeles crest?
Being into cars, and 6'3 sucks. You're at some car show where you're allowed to sit in various cars, only to realize you couldn't fit in most of them even if you had the money.
When the previous gen Audi A4 weighed around 3,900 lbs 3,700 lbs isn't so bad
Hey guys before we get to this video:
I'm a fucking sellout and no amount of money will never be enough for me.
Where's your dignity buddy
I put a back supporting pillow on my fast car when driving... and no more lower back pain. Maybe you should get one too?
Lambos are so ridiculous these days. Rather have an R8 with the same V10. Much classier IMO. But everyone has there taste
Now go watch the F8 video...and shake your head as you begin to understand the 'turbo-tragedy'
the car just took a big price cut due to Matt hitting rev limiter twice lol
lol Matt looks ridiculous in that car. i dont understand why they made the huracan especially the Spyder so tight inside
That thing sounds so amazing
Did you have a tanker truck following you so you could refuel LOL.
Trading my murcielago in for one next week
I love Lamborghini
Lmao "ango." I seriously thought you said something that was just a weird Lamborghini term and was about to go back and replay when you explained.
Scotty Kilmer says it will be unreliable...
Sounds better than the Philharmonic...and McLarens for that matter
This car could have gone faster if Matt's head didn't stick out at the top and creating the drag.
Sounds Amazing!
I rather buy a house and C7 Corvette Grand Sport
God it sounds so good >
god the artificial exhaust burble is annoying AF
Take the tunnel scene and repeat it 100 times and make that a video. Jesus, that sound.
I love the huracan because its small, I could do some damage in traffic with its small size. I could definitely seeing myself almost dailying this
Goddamn those shifts are quick!!! @Thesmokingtire is it noticeably better than cars prior?
The car. The road. The scenery. Wow.
It’s funny to see that little orange q ball sticking out of the top of a lambo
That sound 😍
weight comes in at 3322 pounds, adding a full 272 pounds over the coupe. Lamborghini notes this weight is still 77 pounds lighter than the normal Huracan Spyder thanks to the use of carbon fiber.Mar 6, 2018
The 2019 Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder Pictures, Info ...
Hey, smoking tire. Man, you Ripped that Lamborghini like a boss! Keep those Videos coming! Just wondering Where on earth Is that Location?? I Don't Own A Lambo but id take my Acura for a run there, those Hills and Corners were perfect for the Video! 2 thumbs up man! :)
Matt....At 6’1” the Perf S is difficult to fit into, this I agree. I can do about 100 miles before my back hurts.
But there isn’t another supercar under $600k that I’d rather drive. And this car sounds epic, your videos can’t do the V10 wail justice unfortunately.
Keep up the good work.
Matt what a nice drive, good weather, no traffic and a beautiful car, don't tell everyone about the R8 I am keeping that for myself...... :-) let these boys buy their toys and real men can drive an R8. I agree about the firmness of ride, it's just a Lambo thing,,, I wonder if they have fixed it in the newer EVO version..... I sense another review coming up..soon....
damn this is definitely a "mind blasting" (as Russell Peters would say) piece of kit.... even the rev match sounds brilliant... and those exhaust burbles.... I've always thought the performante was probably Lamborghini's best machine.... I even like the special carbon fiber trims (i'd never get carbon fiber trim except the performante one)... it looks almost like nice black ashwood trim and that is my most favorite trim.... the one thing i can say.. is that if I ever had the money.... I would not be getting the spyder version...
And Hef thought he had the best job..that lady doesn't pretend
The sound is definitely the best part about this car! I'm not a Lambo fan but I admire their NA dedication!
The sound is glorious could that be the stock exhaust??
I could spew car jizz all over this video. #inLove
That air vent reflection could be annoying.
That sound alone is wurth it. V10 is still the best sounding engine possible imo. Even if money wasn't an issue, I would pick this over an Aventador any day.
@thesmokingtire How tall are you?
