I once again really enjoyed watching your work in progress and mastering this model kit. Such a simple but ingenious idea for the fusion core again, the end result when the leds are rotating is much more better than before you customed this part. In haste to see your next steps. Thank you.
Absolutely loved watching the Jupiter 2 build. So much so much so, I’m watching it again. Cheers for the inspiration. Take care, stay safe and stay healthy Regards from Sydney Australia
I wonder,if The transparent plastic was painted flat white will that accomplish the same purpose as the stirene strips. Hindsight is 20/20.great video.
Hi Christopher , you mentioned in your video that you "sealed" the floor, what exactly did you use to seal it? I have painted my floor with Tamiya flat (XF) paint but it seems very soft and scratches easily, sealing it sounds like a good idea. My first time modelling and appreciate your help. Your videos are amazing and very inspiring, thanks for sharing and motivating me to start modelling.
@@modelsbychris Thank you for the quick reply, I will have a look for this but I am not sure its available in Australia any longer. Do you think Tamiya XF-86 flat clear would work ok?
@@modelsbychris Gloss would probably look better too, Ok I will check both options and go with the one I can get. It looks like I still have a long way to go with this build, looking forward to the results. Thanks again
For regular LEDs I use in all my models, no. I just get them on Ebay. For the fusion core LEDs in this particular kit, those were a 3rd party custom LED set specifically for the Jupiter 2.
You have completely inspired me to light every unbuild model and I have and I just got in the 1/20 scale Macross plane!!!!!!...Post more.!!!!love to watch you work!!!!!
The small Warp sound for the J2 was always fantastic!
I loved the show watching it every day of my childhood. I love your work. You are a expert at modeling. I would love to have a model like this one

Wow! The whole thing is extraordinarily interesting.
Nice and simple fix, always the best.
This is a daunting model but you make it look so simple. Nice job!

The LEDs looks really nice through that styrene, great touch.
A Master of Detail! Good job!
Outstanding! You do fantastic work.
Great work.
Brilliant!
Looking at this reminds that I always wondered where the hell the bedrooms were? Oh and toilets as well.
i'm clearly late to the party, but i'm wondering..... wouldn't it have been easier to just frost the clear plastic piece for the fusion core?

I had originally thought about that and tested. Can't get a clean enough paint job and opaque enough to look as good as styrene
@@modelsbychris thank you for the quick reply.

I sealed it with my airbrush using Pledge floor gloss. It's what Future floor polish used to be.

@@nickdoum the floor should be gloss. So the Tamiya gloss coat would probably work ok

Hi Chris, what is the size and type of styrene you used on the fusion core to diffuse the light. Cheers.. david
When you say you "sealed" the floor and other parts, did you mean spraying with clear acrylic ALL parts after painting them?
@sticklevich the floor was sealed with many layers of gloss coat. Most other parts, walls, consoles, etc. I seal with flat coat.
I was going to use masking tape to defuse power core myself
where did u get thefloor mask at so u could paint over them. i can't find those.
Everything was supplied to me by the owner of the model. I just built it under commission. But I think Paragrafix.biz
Is there a particular place your get your leds??
