Good video but i would advise a few right shoulder checks on the bend in case any vehicles come or one of the cars emerges from the driveways of the houses.
On completion of the Left Reverse after you have Prepared the vehicle to move , Check ALL the way around the vehicle FIRST before applying the signal to move away or you will be marked under " Signals" " Timing". WillyO.
Good all around observation is required from start to finish on any manoeuvre, you were neglecting your blind side (right) throughout this manoeuvre a definite driving test fail. The two things being marked on any manoeuvre by the driving examiner is " Control and Observations".WillyO.
This is rich coming from a country that once gave full driving licences to people who never did a driving test in their lives and some of them never drove a car ever. True.
I've my test tomorrow and I'm a little anxious about this manoeuvre - it is acceptable to dip the left side mirror a little to see the kerb more clearly before starting this manoeuvre? I still observe all around me, both shoulders and my blind spot!!
Driving in supermarket carpark with parking spot on ur right and left. If you pass both to make a reverse maneuver into either why is it not necessary to use indicator. It's the very same as driving forward into same spot. Reverse lights does not necessarily mean ur going straight
Why not use your indicators doing a reverse the same as you would doing a normal left turn. There's no difference as ur still pulling in, pulling out, turning then stopping at kerb?
What should you do if a Driver comes up behind you half way through your execution of the manoeuvre and is unwilling or too nervous to overtake you on a, as he/she perceives to be, dangerous corner?
Go back around the corner, wait for them to pass and start again. In my test another car pulled out of a driveway when I was in the middle of the turn and waited for me finish the manoeuvre but I failed for not giving them right of way.
Incorrect ! the Driving Examiner should ask you to pull up "before" the next road on the left or right "not past the road. The reason there are two types of corners to deal with "sharp and sweeping" the distance required to to reverse from these two types of corners are totally different, distance off the kerb to reverse around a sharp corner is 1m and the distance off the kerb to reverse around a sweeping corner is between 30/45cm. The reason distance your nearside rear wheel from the kerb.Willy
Cian O'D Im exactly like you Cian. I had my test 2 days ago and got a grade 3 for it. My instructor said that if I didn't get a grade 3 in the reverse around the corner I would have passed it. I know how to do it but the fecking thing gets worse when i do it constantly. What happened to me was there was a car behind me and I stopped and then I decided to wait till the car was gone so I went back to D again(since im driving an auto) and then straightened it again and done it where I left off. The tester gave me a grade 3 as he said nothing and I said nothing.
Disney65Fan Well I'm thankfully after passing now. The trick with the reversing is checking/looking around you. You should check five times, first before you start, in between starting and reaching the corner, when you reach the corner, in between the corner and reaching the end, and finally the end. The mistake people make is over-checking which will make you concentrate less on the actual maneuver, and not checking enough. I hope you get it right.

Your reversing light will be on anyway so there's no need to indicate.
I had this question... Thank you for clarification.

When he is pulling out , he does not look and check his LHS blind spots
I can't get this. I've my test tomorrow and it's the only thing worrying me. I get it right, then I do it wrong again.
