You can adjust the mirror if you want but I don't think it's necessary, if you adjust the mirror down you may be creating a blind spot on the left. You can stop halfway through the reverse if you wish to make some observations but it's not essential to stop.

Passed my test today with only 1 mark in total. I was so nervous about doing the test in particular the reverse around the corner and I watched this video after having attempted and practiced the reverse around the corner with my instructor and this video completely changed my thought process. It’s so clear and the quarter steer on the steering is a complete game changer, no matter how good you are at steering your vehicle I feel like when it comes to the reverse corner you tend to overthink it and always manage to steer the wrong way but the first time I tried that quarter steer I got it immediately. I watched so many other videos and genuinely think I couldn’t have passed without your knowledge. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and invaluable tips.
Hi Dane. I passed my driving test on the 1st attempt in Tullamore today with only three grade 2 faults. Thanks a lot for your videos. I would not have been able to do it without your help.

Thank you. Watching this video gave me a clearer idea of what i have to do. What about reversing from the right side of the road to the right lane. Would appreciate any tips 😊
Hi Dane, thank you so much for your helpful videos. They are a great source for people learning to drive. I found them useful! I passed my test recently after what felt like a long road to get there. When I did not get it prior to this a tester emphasised the importance of giving way on the road. To anyone taking their test, please keep this in mind. You will all get there with your goal. I look forward to donating:)
Well if you don't give way then you're going to risk being in a crash so I don't disagree with that point. Congratulations on passing your test, everyone is on a unique journey.
Yes definitely. It was emphasised as the most common cause for accidents on the road. And I agree too with this :) it's great to be at the other side of this journey. The novelty of being a novice driver has not worn off. I'm still delighted.
Thanks for this video I have my driving test next Tuesday so I will try this when I go out practicing again and in the test as this is the area I need the most work. I failed on this last time with my observation and I also clipped the kerb.

Failed my driving test yesterday with 6 grade 2s and 1 grade 3. Got the grade 3 cause I panicked on the reverse around the corner and mounted the curb :( wish I watched this beforehand, excellent video
When reversing around a sharp (90 degree) corner esp a corner that goes into an alley like in mall parking area, I think we can apply similar technique used in bay parking. I mean, we can use same reference point to know when to turn the steer, i.e by looking through side-back window instead of using side mirror. After passing the corner, we can use side mirror (or other way) to know the gap to the curb. I encountered such situation a couple months ago when I entered into a wrong lane in a mall parking area which forced me to reverse around a sharp corner. Fortunately I had known the 90 degree bay parking technique, so I could overcome the situation.

Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated. It may be possible that you are not ready for the test yet and there's no point in wasting your money, perhaps focus on the practice and lessons and try again in 3 months. If your instructor is advising you I would definitely listen to him.

I came across your videos several months ago and HAD to subscribe. SO, SO informative! But I'm still not getting the hang of reversing left [or right] around a corner. I'm not in the UK but we follow UK highway code. However, reversing around a corner IS a requirement of our practical exams [normally reversing left around a corner]. I've watched your other videos on reversing and some of the others on driving in general. I've watched other RUclipsr's videos as well but I'm just NOT getting the hang of this. 😭😭😭 I've spent over 2 months learning this manouevre. It's cost me a lot of money. The only practice I get is during my driving lesson. I do not have the best hand-eye coordination, gauging distances etc. I tried following what you and others said about when the curb disappears from the side mirror etc. etc. but there are times I end up reversing too soon, too late, too far from the corner etc. The last time I tried, I actually hit the curb. Please, please, is there anything you can suggest to me that will help? I honestly don't know what else to do.
Hello Dane! I can't seem to find a video on parallel parking. I will be glad if you could do one. If you have , please kindly drop a link so I can have a look. Thanks for all your wonderful videos

Very helpful video as always, please help making a video about the normal parking by the kerb, the thing is I always spend 4 or 5 minutes to park by my house, I am still a learner driver but learn using my own car with the help of a friend. I try to approach the kerb with an angle then go through a hard time trying to adjust how the car is, if too close at the front and far from the kerb at the back or the opposite, you know what I mean. I tried to use stickers as reference points but sometimes work other times I do not get it right. Please help. Thank you very much
+Dane No, I think what she/he means is how to know the gap to the curb when approaching either to the left side or the right side. Even if there are no cars in front and behind, she/he struggles in doing so, during forward-backward moving to know the gap to the curb. Please show her/him the reference points when approaching to the left and to the right in forward and backward moving. I myself already have a knowledge of this.
I know it's not easy for me to check my Blind Spot over my right shoulder. But I know I really need to move my body around. When looking all around. When Reversing around the Corner. And to move slow to.
Id recommend tilting your mirror down slightly more towards the curb so it is in constant viewing, so that you can move your wheel appropriately. not too much though that it will affect the rest of your driving once you're finished the maneuver and need to pull off to finish your exam
thank you very much, your videos are great, when reversing do i accelerate or just do the whole process using/lifting off the clutch and braking gently in between?
If you wish to support me on PayPal I would really appreciate it, many thanks.

Hi. Very helpful video. Could you please guide me about adjustment of left side mirror ? Also should we complete this manevor without stopping.
You can adjust the mirror if you want but I don't think it's necessary, if you adjust the mirror down you may be creating a blind spot on the left. You can stop halfway through the reverse if you wish to make some observations but it's not essential to stop.

Hi dane, is there parrell parking on test anymore on the test
What indicators we have to use while reversing?
Id recommend tilting your mirror down slightly more towards the curb so it is in constant viewing, so that you can move your wheel appropriately. not too much though that it will affect the rest of your driving once you're finished the maneuver and need to pull off to finish your exam
Not so sure about that, if the kerb is constantly in view the person might look there too much and consequently be faulted on all round observation.
thank you very much, your videos are great, when reversing do i accelerate or just do the whole process using/lifting off the clutch and braking gently in between?
Just use clutch control to manage your movement but you might need a bit of juice on the hill
@@DaneTygheletsdrive thank you
Best wishes
