Alpine was one of the teams I cheered for. How was firing all those good people going to improve the car? Changing administration doesn’t improve engineering. Super disappointed. I feel like Alpine got screwed by a business person looking for a solution to a problem they don’t understand.
A beautiful explanation! It's a shame 😔
Well said and accurate.
They are french ferrari. What do u really expect?
Alpine decision was kinda right
They are performing and staying in the same place from the start of the season, even for past 3 yrs they are still a mid field team
If u don’t see the results change the management nothing to loose I guess
Me thinks they are playing the game of 'blame those who don't get time on netflix to keep drivers value and happiness while losing. Pure PR in level of current white house. And I'll cheer for ocon and Alpine (watching them both) since estee/alonso damn near won Canada last year, ehem, 2021 maybe, running as high as 3rd and 4th. Then they let another Frenchy in Gasly get embarrassed once again to a much less experienced teammate. At least it wasn't a full blown asian, I mean rookie. Smh... Australia. F Pierre. He's named after a very feely, doesn't hear no, skunk cartoon character.
I'll tell you what killed me this weekend was hearing the F1 Live commentary remain completely oblivious to the hole in Perez's sidepod until post-sprint. I got second-hand embarrassment at their confusion as to his loss of pace. It was pretty clearly visible from the multiple angles shown that he had a big ol' chunk out of his car from that contact.
Seriously I was saying the same
Checo was already going backwards before the incident..but yeah the broadcasters completely missed his car having a huge hole!😮😅😅😮
@@RicardoSicks Sure, but it got WAY worse after the giant hole. Amplified at least.
@@IAmKry obviously!
I can't take the English Sky sports commentary anymore to be honest, it's a joke.
Another great analysis! I always look forward to your no nonsense, data driven insights, so many people knee jerk reaction to situations and almost always add favoritism, bias, and prejudice to their reactions, I'm stoked to see when you analyze the situation and give your opinion whether or not it favors your former employer or not!
Really enjoying buying you coffee bro, I'll double down and buy you a beer or three if I could!😂🎉😂 Your expertise makes it all worthwhile!👍👍✔️
I can't help but be somewhat biased - I think it definitely impacts the points in which I pick up on, but I can do my best to try and be objective! I'm glad you appreciate it man. Thanks so much. The coffee has been good, lately! Thanks for the kind words and support!
Lewis would probably have been on pole. Because for that he didn't need the fastest lap. He just needed to beat Charles. Above Eau Rouge Russell did block Lewis when going to the left. And that was probably 1 tenth. Below Eau Rouge of course Russell stays there to give Lewis one might pull. But above he had to move smarter.
Beating Max time though? No chance.
Pole and fastest lap are very different things.
Um…it happed in Sprint Qualifying, remember Max ONLY had the Grid Penalty for the Sunday Race, not Sprint Race…
My dude.. we need more of your videos. I miss your post race data analysis...update: Oh I just hear you talking about live twich analysis.. I will def join you there.
I post as frequently as I can!!
Lewis could have been on pole? I don't believe Lewis is a driver that leaves 8/10 of a second on the table...
It was of the sprint shootout is what he said did he?
Congrats on the 100K milestone mate! 👏👏
Thank you so much 😀
Why am i remembering Piastri on a podium, either 2nd or most likely 3rd and if you tell me it wasn't sprint in this video then where did he squeeze in between max checko and Charles Legreg?
Am I just thinking qualy and not podium for Pippen Pipper Piastri? Guess proverb was true, it wasn't the end of the race but the Piastri we made along the way.
👌👏 thank you !
Do you believe that mclaren still have pace and this was a one off due to setup to a wet race and not being able to make a good smaller wing in time or that they will become like aston Martin and fall back behind ferrari and mercedes in pace? Great video!
I think McLaren should be strong in future events. Maybe not Monza 😅
@@brrrake yeah, agree. Hopefully they can manufacture a more suited wing in time but doesnt look too promising as it overall still looks a fairly draggy car. Keep it up with the great videos and analysis btw!
It took Aston Martin a while to remove a lot of their drag and even then it didn't work so well for their low medium speed performance, this tells me finding a good balance won't be easy but perhaps Mclaren can find a good enough balance to be a consistent top 4, like Aston was at the start.
love the vids, can you get a new mic / move the mic placement. Super harsh consonants / poppy.
Max happened
Piastri also
Haha I translated Piastri to english and youtube spelled "Plates"
@@Lanse1984 plates happened tho 🤣
Hamilton would get a nice tow anyway although not as much
LH wasn’t fully alongside, rewatch the onboard of LH…. And LH’s left front tyre hit the sidepod which also proofs that. LH understeered into Checo, it’s that simple. Doesn’t matter if you used to be payed by RB…. Facts are facts.
Yeah he understeered into him. I just find it weird that every other racing driver pundit was like "eh that's racing it happens sometimes" and everyone else thinks its a slam dunk penalty. 5s is insanely harsh for that.
I'd rather see that, than no overtake attempts.
They punished the DNF, not the incident. Which is incorrect to me.
This entire channel is like a weird Black mirror extended episode. It's weird how the ads and solicitations progressed exactly like a black mirror episode.. 😬
Just a side note.
In what way? 😅😅
Love you analysis. Just a one small suggestion. Your noise reduction on your mic is set way too high. It sounds a bit unnatural and your voice sounds shaky because of that. I think you can definitely lower it down and still achieve the same result. Without all the harsh cuts every time you stop speaking. Other than that, love the high quality of your vids!
Ah the gate! I will look into this. Thanks dude!
This guy is smart
Alright, after watching the german Formel Schmidt podcast with awesome insider and former endurance driver Michael Schmidt, I had to get away from my stance what cost Szafnauer his job. Strange and ugly politics going on in the Alpine team. The envy about Aston Martin's and McLaren's rise really shook that whole organisation. Bruno Fermin is an F1 newbie without any network whatsoever. Szafnauer never had any chance to really do anything, always had to report and beg about everything up top at Alpine. I can really see this going into the bin, sadly.
And just think about that the guy who fucked up the whole engine construction is now taking over at Alpine. Wth
They are screwed. Honestly.
Foist😊
Max seems to have smaller advantage after the transition from inters to softs - is it because RB-Max combo is easy on tires so he struggles to get the tires up to the right temp when the track is still damp?
Teams are much closer in Quali anyways, as RB can't play their biggest trump cards of balance under heavy fuel and tyre deg. But yeah, at least that Q2 lap seemed to have bad tyre prep.
No Max said he didn’t take risks and Pistri did

I am confused. Is Szafnauer actually a bad Team-Principal? I have no insight, but he seemed like a likeable guy and he has a tone of experience. Even though Alpine looked quite bad recently...
I think it's hard to say it was down to him that it was bad. He was TP at Force India when I was there - if he can keep a bleeding team like that on the rails despite being run by Vijay, I think he's alright probably.
@@brrrake Thanks mate. Appreciate the answer
@@Tripplewin I'm as confused as you though. Honestly. It's rarely what it seems on the surface
Szafnauer sounds like a reasonable person on the recent F1 podcast.
@@AxeTangentIt's a very simple. Otmar is a good team principal when your budget is limited not so much when you have a bigger budget and want to move up the grid. Think of it like football player who is a star at a lower level team but flops at a high level team.
In Quali
GP: slowly getting used to it Max 😂
In Race
Max: Are we doing this? 💀
SQ3 Mercedes actually had a somewhat reasonable gap between the 2 cars, albeit leaning very much on the small side.
Russell botched la source, went off line and couldn't get the traction out of the corner which slowed him all the way to eau rouge, and incidentally, him getting slowed so much gave Lewis so much of a tow that quickens Lewis and narrows the gap even further.
On Russell's end, he wouldn't have backed out of the lap because on his dashboard, it probably just said +.3~+.4, given that the track is getting so much faster, he would reasonably have thought that he would make up enough time in S2 to make this attempt worthwhile, or at least give him a better time than his banker lap.
The issue being that the Mercedes garage really should have told Russell to move over and let Lewis through because Russell definitely wouldn't be thinking about Lewis' lap in the middle of his one shot qualifying lap.
