    I can see your getting on to how best use the 953, but I am thinking all that rain has softened up the ground to help with the removal of the brush, undergrowth, and smaller trees. Nice running machine though. Thanks for the ride along sir.

    Vision and equipment. That's Chris 30 minutes made a huge difference. Cleaned the tree line and pig weed at the same time. Ponds look good. Another beautiful piece of property. I would give anything for some rain. 103 every day for weeks and not a drop of water and none in sight. Texas summer. Good video.

    @0:35 Chris, in my region lot of those CAT track loader series with that exhaust pipe runned, no one has a rain protection on. No rain or snow problems ever happend.

  • @r1mein54
    @r1mein54 2 года назад +5

    Yep, you and D have lots to do on Oak Hill Farms. It seems the only 'free time' you have left would be going without sleep - I don`t recommend that. That pond does look good and a fine pond for bream. Fourway Francine needs a flapper cap for the exhaust. That wet soft ground is making it easier to "pull it out by the roots". Shifter linkages might have wallered out egg shaped holes.

    As a viewer from the U.K. I could not help but think, as you walked around the pond, of a British 'Public Information' film from the 70's, which showed a cloaked figure standing by such a pond, saying " I am the Spirit of Dark and Lonely Waters......" a film all about water safety, ".. and this is the sort of place you'd expect to find me." The film went on to show various drownings in unexpected places, we knew how to make light hearted fun family entertainment back then

  • @charleslloyd4253

    Just a suggestion for pig weed. Brush hog it down and then no till sorghum over it. The sorghum will grow fast and tall. Blocking the light and killing off the pigweed. Just a thought.

    DO NOT BUILD YOUR FENCE INSIDE YOUR PROPERTY LINE!!! Build it on the line.. The best way to lost property is to "surrender" the property line by building INSIDE of it. Many a surveyor has made a living defending (or in some cases claiming) that a boundary line that has a fence that is not where it is supposed to be is the true line.

    Probably not as much water got in as you might have thought, given the amount of rain that fell…, the actual exhaust pipe diameter appears pretty small. However a cover for the future, is a wise plan of action. The property is a beautiful piece of ground.., for you to shape and mold…, as you said “i got the right equipment to do it”… Then there is that old issue of “time”…. hahaha…
    Great video,
    Thank you sir.

    Those hystats like high idle. The pressures and flows do wierd things at lower RPM's. Need a root rake for that thing now! Put a few of those on track loaders. I think someone's excavator you ran had a modified one on it for raking up debris. Only donw side is they aren't quick attach. Track loaders are awesome machines!!

    My Dad bought a 1964 Cat D7E dozer just after the 64 earthquake up here in Alaska To help clear out and rebuild Anchorage from the damage it wrought! I LOVE driving and working with that monster! Still in pristine condition had some minor repairs and scheduled maintenance but all around its a work horse...kind of a bit loud but its been worth every penny he spent! It has 31k hours on it! I bought a 1992 Cat 349FL Excavator brand new I have only 2.1k hours on it and have had multiple issues with it... Old is better?!? Neither of them nor any other big machines we have are ever left out in the elements and scheduled maintenance is always the key! Also knowing the limitations of each mech. is a must! Good content again young man!

    That's funny. I've been a construction inspector all of my career of over 44 years and worked around a lot of heavy equipment doing soils work. I don't know how many thousands of times I've seen those little flaps at the top of the exhaust pipe and never gave them a second thought other then wondering why they were there. It never occurred to me that it was to keep the rain out. One of life's little secrets !!

      My husband looked at a tractor once that had not had the flap on top of the exhaust - the whole engine was seized up from the rain and snow getting in there, rusting everything and doing nasiies to the engine.

    I'm curious as to why you would give up a foot of ground when putting up your fence? We always run them right down the property line. Unless it's a creek or something you just can't fence.
    Round up and a year or two of soybeans is the best solution for that pigweed.

    Looks like your really getting the hang of knocking over trees with the track loader. Ive been wondering for a while. Would it be faster, with all the work you have lined up. To go through with a mulcher on your skid steer. Like when you do fence paths and things. Then go back through with the 220 and pick all the big trees. Like you did one that was like 2 miles, and had tons of huge piles throughout, which most probably could have been ran over and mulch pretty fast
