James is THE reason to watch the blacklist.
He was my reason to watch when the show started
And the writers know it

There is no reason to look at Blacklist just to see more fake news? Sure they are fiction but they are almost as bad as reality.
He always was the bigger reason. To this point he is the only one. The show had a 4/5 seasons plot and should have end years ago.
James Spader's performance as Raymond Reddington is just absolutely brilliant. They don't make actors like him anymore.
He’s wonderful.
I only recall him from that flick where he and Jack Nicholson became werewolves over Michelle Pfeiffer.
And one of the main characters in Supernatural seemed to be copping Spader's mannerisms.

I love The Blacklist. Oh, and Secretary was a wonderful love story.
Spader would be the first to disagree.
Why?
I'm sure Vivian Surname was not being overly literal, but expressing the sense of awe such a great actor and cool guy vibe Mr. Spader sort of exudes. Also he is just really an expressive person in a way that causes one to feel, while at the same time he seems to do so in a really understated and confident way. There's something kind of soothing about his voice, accent and manner that is like watching a fully integrated actualized person with an air of what, I don't know old money poshness that if over done would seem snobbish and condescending. But he's hines it that it is shy of being pretentious, yet still polished with the remnants of some old money prep school alumnus with that New England tycoon almost FDR accent. It's like he's been around enough real regular people to be able to seem more relatable than someone who has stayed in that insular upper class group. I had an uncle that had that kind of accent, and he always seemed sarcastic and inscrutable to me.

Robert California seems much less intense these days. Good for him.
I absolutely adore him on Blacklist! Everything he says sounds like a Shakespearian monologue. He is extremely emotive. I cry as he is recalling his stories. I'm certain that no one else could possibly play Reddington. I've binged all 7 seasons on Netflix many times and the same stories make me cry. He's amazing.

After watching quite a bit of Blacklist, I feel that James Spader will nonchalantly kill me after he finishes one of his stories.
And he’d make you feel like you had it coming.

I've been watching a lot of Blacklist too and now that I see this interview I feel like they just cast James Spader and said "just be you, but more illegal"

James Spader is an amazing actor. Whether in person or even as a voice actor, he’s amazing. His discussion about his watch shows that he is still just like me and most other people. A normal guy, despite the fame.
Seth is such a class act, he literally didn't sit until Spaders butt hit his seat.

For some reason Seth making James laugh about the time he arrived in his story (not 12:30), and the low confidence he had in his abilities to use zoom, was really wholesome.
He is, indeed, a legend, but doesn't even know it. That's why I have always loved him.

James Spader is truly my favourite t.v. actor. He is phenomenal. He also reminds me so much of another favourite, John Lithgow. They have the same cadence when the speak, and their voices are similar and the are both quite witty.

It's almost like they don't need a live audience.
I prefer no live audience. It feels more 'real' like there's no 'performance' for the audience. Seth has been exceptional since Day One of the lockdown - which is going on a year! His comedy has thrived and I kind of hope they never go back to a live audience 🤫

Pretty in Pink made me want Mean Boys like his character, that clearly wanted all that Molly goodness for himself but didn't know how to handle it. I knew I could fix him, lol. I was 5.

So........after the 6 months away, did the watch in the nightstand get worse or not?!? Talk about a cliffhanger!!
The interview went long and nobody paid attention to the time.
All I want is a 5 minute short of Morgan Freeman as a seasoned cop looking for the killer (think Se7en) and James Spader as ANY villain as he chooses and just 5-minute dialogue interrogation scene.

I just saw three interviews with James Spader. Clearly, he loves Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert doesn't "get" him, but Seth is really a good interviewer. Only interrupts to quip, bolster the interview... Not cannon fodder.
