The Battle for Zendikar Pro Tour Standard tournament, where there are only about a dozen cards played from Battle for Zendikar, everything else is Tarkir or occasionally Origins.
+Parker Dixon-Word I think the problem is that BFZ is extremely synergistic. Cards are only really powerful because they are played with other BFZ cards. That means that there aren't many cards that can just be slotted into an Abzan deck for instance. The metagame will catch up, but I think building and tuning all-BFZ decks couldn't really be done in this time yet.
+Drecon84 It's also just a slower metagame. I'm dissapointed we didn't even see a control deck with Desolation Twin sitting in the sideboard for long games or something, but the fact of the matter is the even the good cards aren't as quick and aggressive as the standard fare from Tarkir. Normal cards are built around waiting for later in the game, not around rushing your opponents to death.
Wtf Dean, Why not use dromokas when anafenza was not blocked?? This way deals 5 damage and can kill siege rhino, and takimura was untapped of 1 Black... Yes maybe murderous but anyway... Holly crap
+WindMasterArceus yeah but consider an abzan charm in deans hand would have removed the trampler to leave takimura with a rhino against the two tokens, not a very good board state.
Eyeforaneye after watching many pro tour finals, more often than not making 1 misplay is often much more deadly than a bad draw. In semis or other best of 3 games, however, luck is often way more insane
I like the way Paul Dean handled himself as he went out , smiling as he was greatful to be there and went out with class. Good job Paul
Paula Dean, but I thought she didn't like black.
Paula Dean plays with an all black deck but so does Nancy Grace because it matches her heart

Just when I was about to comment about Takimura's bad luck for a mulligan to four....
If I were Kazuyuki Takimura, I'd double sleeve those cards as well.
'I didn't want to win anyway' that moment you know you're fucked
Anyone can show me Paul Dean deck pls?

haha thanks. fixed.
for some reason my wireless was showing full connection.
Takimura, you had Dean dead if you just levelled up the 5/5 Warden to a trampler.
+WindMasterArceus yeah but consider an abzan charm in deans hand would have removed the trampler to leave takimura with a rhino against the two tokens, not a very good board state.

Rhinos? Wat about reptilians? HISSSSSSSSSSSSS
molegun to 4 and still win how lucky are you?
at this level luck is a lot more important than skill.
+Eyeforaneye Yes, but it is still very important. Unlike Hearthstone, where skill is based on luck.
