@debopamroy56 we blamed the bats as well but he also gave us a 3-0 whole in less than. 2 innings. Plus had to use more arms out of the pen. Offense sucked but Senga was terrible
@@TalkinMetsWithRob sure he was terrible but he was taken out before he could do too much damage. A pitcher of that calibre chose to have one inexplicable bad day in an important game. Bad timing but sure can happen to anyone. But it's important to remember that in a shutout, the primary culprit is always the offence. If the bats generated three runs at least, then one can say Senga was the difference maker. But he really was not! As long as there is a zero on that scoreboard, even if Senga pitched like we all know he can, the Mets would've lost. I just hate that a talented pitcher like that will take the brunt of this loss.
The focus on Senga is misguided. Flaherty dominated the METS bats...So, whether the LAD won 9 - 0 or 1 - 0 matters not. The METS scored ZERO runs on 3 Hits...This circumstance has happened to the METS throughout the season, especially when it mattered...like dropping the games to ATL and MIL before the METS came back and won the "must-win" games at the end of the season...And Chris, you know this, so you can't say the dismal METS offense is one that you know...METS bats have been up and down all year with the METS having bad games at the plate throughout. The good news is those Team batting slumps were always very brief which is now key to this series...One game does not make for a series loss...I will say that many batters are back to a very bad pattern of taking TOO MANY hittable pitches and then waving at breaking junk out of the Zone...Vientos, for one, looked like he never played MLB-level baseball yesterday at the plate...METS need to correct that tendency PRONTO...And they have righted themselves at the plate throughout this season with great success...Let's see if they can do it again
@stanfromwestport2024 but it was 1-0 is was 3-0 before we can blink, 6-0 when you blinked again. You not only started Senga with no way of knowing if he can bounce back after 1 start of 2 innings but we also wastes a long man, Butto in 1 game we had no shot in. That's why Senga is a bigger issue
@@TalkinMetsWithRob I understand your point, especially around Butto...But Peterson also didn't pitch nearly as well following Senga as he did in the PHI Game 1...Then the bats went cold, errors, base-running blunders, etc...All these things have happened to the METS at various times this season...But, they always bounce back from adversity game-to-game...Tonight is a HUGE game and a BIG test...Let's see what happens
Taylor made one of the season's best plays in the outfield in the PHI game picking the ball off the wall bare-handed turning 180 to fire to Iglesias for the tag @ 2nd base...So, what are you talking about...??
Dodgers bats and pitching peeking at the right time , Mets have a chance but not likely
Senga was toast
Mets fans imploding over Senga. He's not to blame. Look at your bats

Severino would have been on normal rest for game 5 NLDS. He certainly would have at least been the piggyback option.
Talking about game five this series will be over in game 4

There was confidence in senga, but it was a huge mistake to have that confidence in senga knowing his recent injury. Huge mistake on the Mets part.
Jet lag and not having McNeil in center field. Taylor sucks in the outfield I want Bader, he can catch the ball.

@@stanfromwestport2024 we aren't in the season, plus his gloves sucks. Bader is a better center field
Speaking as a Yankee fan and a die-hard Mets hater.. I enjoyed every minute of this embarrassing loss LOL...
Worry about your own pitching issues with Rodon...not exactly Cy Young there...!!
