I think this is the song that best benefits from the orchestra.
I would agree
It's an already grand song, and this makes it a much stronger song
It fits so well
100% agree
This & runaway
I feel strange watching this because it all seems so raw. like I'm not supposed to be seeing this vulnerable moment
hope selah yes I felt that!
hope selah it made me cry!!!
How the kingdom of God will be! God's intimacy, His presence.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤me too
This is the kinda art Christians should be making. Josh's expression through music is so rich
May I suggest Beautiful Eulogy? Or Josh Garrel?

This song is, in a word, majestic.

I was watching this and thinking how I love music that has a meaning and a purpose and just like "thank God for twenty one pilots be my favorite band and thak You for half alive kinda turning to my second favorit". Then I came read the coments and the first that I see is yours, and your profile picture... I just said too much, I'm sorry. But that was important to me
@@joanahelen6598 I feel you. half·alive is my favorite band right next to TØP. It's powerful, uplifting, beautiful music.

Hearing creature in an orchestra version will throw me off into the void and then instantly pull me out of there again
I’m disappointed there was no orchestral “that amount of glory would be reasonably glorious”
Same.
Also... we have someone with a twenty one pilots pf pic, a Coldplay, and now Cavetown.
I'm loving this lol
@@azekielharness Coldplay here :) fandoms unite
I love Coldplay so much!
My fave album by them is defo A Rush of Blood to the Head.
@@azekielharness nice, mine's X&Y
hell yeah nice Cavetown pfp
Despite not being a Christian this is one of my favorite songs by them... and this version is even more impactful to the soul. You can really feel the love put into it. Its not overly preachy... its balanced. I really enjoy seeing others show their love for their deity(ies) ... it inspires me to do the same.
Huh. I honestly never realized they were a Christian group
I’m not a Christian either and I wholeheartedly agree
That’s so cool!! I’m a Christian and this song really speaks to me, a reminder that though I’m an imperfect creature, caught in the constant tension between wrong and right, good and bad, life and death, I am drawn towards life by my Creator.
I'm not religious but even though this song pretty overtly references god, i find the song really indicative of what the paradox of the human experience is, with god or not.
@@mariapizzaa I totally agree! whatever you attribute human nature to (God, an ultimate energy source, or something only understood by physical science), it's clear we all have to deal with this internal wrestle.
Joshs vocals just said "Let me be the most beautiful thing for a second"
so do his gestures
I get the sense that this entire EP was made just for this song.
Okay, I NEEEEEED to hear TrusT with an orchestra.
Specifically, the quiet yet rumbling "tell me why I feel this way"
As and atheist, this song makes me believe in creationism for 5:48 minutes straight. One of my favorites from Now, Not Yet and this versions is even more fulfilling.
Christianism is so beautifull, simple but profound, and this song express that so well. But Well, when you see the “christians” out there, you can only feel sadness.
@@IgorEduardo1322 Christianity is beautiful because it's a story of redemption. Some of the most compelling stories in humanity boil down to acts of grace and redemption--it's hard-wired in our bones that we need it. And Christians are the first to admit that we are sinners in need of a Savior (if a Christian doesn't admit that fundamental aspect of Christianity, they've rejected the whole gospel and should not call themselves Christian by definition). Just remember when you look at a Christian that we are not perfect people, but we serve a perfect, Risen Savior who forgives us. Lord knows we need it. We fight the same tension between our own old fleshly life and our new spiritual life--sometimes we act in flesh and sometimes in a human attempt to walk in the Holy Spirit we rely on our own self-righteousness to accomplish God's will--but we should know better. Please forgive those who tarnish Jesus' Name and instead look to Jesus, our Example of perfection. ✌💖✝
I said in a different comment thread that I'm a Christian and I feel like those outside the church, get it better than those in the church. 😅🤨 I'm not even talking about being a good person as in not sinning. (Cuz that's just illogical LOL) I mean- they cause division and that is NOT of God AT ALL. Sorry for the division and pettiness probably everyone has encountered.
A "christian" neighbor has finally made their racism apparent and is also believing an avalanche of conspiracies. Now we are devil worshippers and witches cuz we wear a mask in public and support our black friends. 😂 And then at various churches I've heard SHIT.
Like "If you've been coming here as a member and you're not giving your time or money right now you're mooching off the congregation." Which was a dumb move to say at a service our family was at. We were trying to scrounge up money and time to save our baby from cancer!!!!!!! Fuck that!!!
Another church would take anything they could, like cleaning lolol but then any time I'd do anything else... some of the leadership gave me the vibe that this is their time to shine and they're talking and you have to help and let them do the preaching. Kinda creepy. They're not your project they're you're friend first.
@@ohifonlyx33 Preach it! God bless. 🙌💛

Even as someone who's not religious, I can really appreciate this beautiful expression of faith.

creature:
My tear ducts aren’t ready, I am not ready,
This is gonna be so much fun
Edit: Yep, I definitely wasn't ready, and it was a lot of fun
shani the frog yes
Yes me too!!
I love the fact that even if this has some christian hints it can still translate so well to any human being. I kinda dislike religion, but this just feels so right, I can't even describe it. And it's just so beautiful with the orchestra. I'm speechless
Yhh...that's cuz the main focus of christianity in person...is your relationship with Christ
(Not telling people they'll go to hell or being rude is some sort of ways)
JESUS is different from out conception of religion..He is way different ❤
It definitely hints at religious trauma, too.
The reason this song feels so right is because God is speaking through it. God is using this song to show his love for you. When you listen to this song you connect with the eternal and the holy spirit rests on you.

I'm interested to know what makes you think that. Would it be too much trouble for me to ask why you feel this way?

Half•Alive: Hold my root beer
I love songs where I listen to them because they're beautiful, and after tens of listens on repeat, I start paying attention to the lyrics and realize they're also Christian - this is one of those, and I love it all the more for it ^^
Hold my wine
"creature" is the most beautiful song that I've ever listened to. This orchestral version is so majestic.
I'm not religious or have faith, but I do love this song. I went through a near-death experience with an extended hospital stay and Still Feel and this song really speak to the feeling of recovery and embracing the second chance at life I got. The orchestra makes them even more beautiful.
I'm thankful you're still with us. We can celebrate life together in this music even though we have different beliefs. love you stranger, God bless you
I hope God continues to use this song to comfort you and draw you near to him. Even if you don't believe it, the heavenly father is with you and he loves you. That's why music like this is able to exist ❤
This is their best song and it works the best with orchestra. It really feels like a philosophy of art... we are fallen creatures (literally "created things") creating things for the Creator. And I love the way this song goes on a journey from looking within and understanding the self to looking above and beyond to aspire to more. I love the way it transforms around the bridge. I love the way they included painters. I love the way he walks off the mic to let the message simply stand and resonate.
I also love the transition from looking within oneself to turning to God. It does a great job of illustrating how we can't go through this alone as well as the relief and joy that is found when we finally surrender to christ and allow him to lead us through this crazy life!
This is so, so soothing. As a Christian I adore this song to start with, and this version is so peaceful and encouraging 💕
I can guarantee that we are going to ascend upon hearing this masterpiece performed by orchestra. *Pure heaven*
I wouldn't call myself a believer even if my family is, but damn, singinf this song fills me In a way I cannot completely descrive. The feeling that he puts in it just makes this piece different.
Look inside of me and see that I am not afraid
To walk inside the void like a kid inside a cave
Discovering the patterns of my soul and where it's placed
I've been mapping many caverns but it still feels like a maze
I know I'm made of clay that's worn
Blighted by imperfect form
But I will trust the artist molding me
I am creation, both haunted and holy
Made in glory
Even the depths of the night cannot blind me
When You guide me
Creature only
Look inside my heart and find a perilous ravine
Carved within the beauty, the darkness in between
Standing in the balance of complete and incomplete
I identify the echo of what is and what will be
I know I'm made of clay that's worn
Blighted by imperfect form
But I will trust the artist molding me
In a room that's growing dim
Illuminated from within
The pull of tension's empathy
I am creation, both haunted and holy
Made in glory
Even the depths of the night cannot blind me
When You guide me, oh
I am creation, both haunted and holy
Made in glory
Even the depths of the night cannot blind
'Cause what comes
Creature only
Creature only
(Creature only)
Growing through the creature here
I'm trying to see when it's unclear
Hidden in the space between
Hero and the enemy
Early days and sleepless nights
Death and resurrection, life
My body is a sacred note
Sung between the flesh and hope
My dirt transformed within a breath
Before I took a single step
I'm looking forward to the day
When life can grow without decay
Humanity is not alone
When Jesus Christ sits on the throne
These hidden mirrors expose the mess
The selfish turns to selflessness
Haunted by a darker side
Transcends to walking in the light
And slowly I'm recovering
The beauty of discovery
I mean, that amount of glory
Does sound reasonably glorious
this song is so beautifully powerful yet soothing. the orchestra was perfect for the atmosphere. also, the painting?! painting?!?!?!
yall are known for your perfect music videos and this is just another example of that
My family is Christian and my brother who introduced me to half•alive kinda isn't... But he told me this was his favorite song and it's a feeling undescribable
I'm loving all the comments from people saying that this song fills them up despite their lack of faith in Christ. To me, that just proves that the holy spirit is very present in this song ❤
GASP CREATURE! Favourite song by Half•Alive in orchestra. Dream come true~☆
I kept waiting for the "I mean, that amount of glory does sound reasonably glorious" 🙁
I actually didn't like that part.
this song really expresses the dichotomy of the human condition- and walking the line between mortality and the divine- i’m not really religious, more spiritual, but i still find that we are all part of a beautifully flawed creation because we’re all perfectly imperfect beings
Everybody gangsta til he mentions Jesus
🌟
kshsisbdkbdjd hdhsishjs even if you aren’t Christian you can still enjoy the art behind the music.
@@yellowalone5658 I know, right. I actually am Christian, but I just thought the comment would be funny
honestly when the album came out and i heard it for the first time it threw me for a loop because i didnt notice the symbolism in the other songs and it was at the bottom of my list for a while but im coming around to it now LMAO
"Jesus Christ is on the thr-waitWHAT?"
I cannot listen to this song without ending it in floods of tears, it reaches so deep into me and is truly remarkable. Astonished.
I don't know how to describe it because I'm so on the fence with religion (I'm a former Methodist)... basically it's not what I felt when I was part of the church. With their words and song I interpret this album is a process discovering self love and acceptance and I'm just rambling to get my thoughts out in this comment section. It's refreshing to see such an open form of christianity after being kicked out of church groups for being gay and trans... thank you ♡♡♡
It's all about the love baby I'm sorry you got kicked out I want you to know the love exists and it will always find you
I hear you man. A lot of my extended family is hardcore fundamentalist Christian. They believe that Christianity is about following a list of rules in order to appease God, but this is most definitely not the case. What many people miss is that Christianity is about pursuing an intimate relationship with Christ, just like you would a friend. No matter what you’ve done God’s love for you is still unwavering. Try to search around for a good church that will accept you because if they kicked you out for those reasons, then they should be ashamed to call themselves Christians.
I grew up Methodist. Now I'm just a Christian. You don't need religion to follow Christ. You just need a little faith.
@@connorrhunter Same here bro, We might not support it but I get so upset when “Christians” treat others wrong just because they’re different. You actually said everything I possibly could atm, so I’ll just leave it at that but it really makes me sad to see how others were hurt by the church
For God so loved the world. (not just straight people) that He gave His only begotten son so that we may inherit eternal life. *We all fall short of the glory of God*
You listen to the music and think this is the kind of song you only find maybe once every 5 years, then you listen to the lyrics and it turns out to be the type of song you only discover once every 20
I keep coming back to this song every so often. MAN...do these lyrics feel like a Psalm of David. Such a beautiful song.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
- Psalm 139:13-16
This makes me believe in God
Many non-Christian and non-religious people here saying how they resonate with the song despite it. I think that's because it's fundamentally a song about faith and trusting -- trusting your creator, yes, but if you don't believe in one or don't feel a connection with one, it still evokes the same feeling. For me it's trusting in myself and embracing the imperfection and vulnerability that makes me human, reframing it all as beautiful. Creation, both haunted and holy -- it makes me think of all the ways I trip and stumble, and that all of it is an unlikely, wonderful miracle. A tiny expression of the entire universe, and I may trust in it. Idk, this song makes me feel like embracing myself. You can apply it to any kind of faith or philosophy.
This is a religious song done beautifully right, precisely because it connects and speaks to people across many beliefs.
I mean… that amount of glory does sound reasonably glorious
I love the fact that the orchestra is so diverse. We all have that person inside that we are, and the one that we want to be. The struggle is universal...The hard part is accepting that person we are. These lyrics are soooo deep. I just found half alive like 24 hours ago!
And I, just last weekend! So inspiring, plus to be honest, I needed this song in my life somehow. Right now.
So excited! I've been listening to half alive for the past four days, nonstop 😳
To me this piece is not only a brilliant song full of emotion and artistic mastery, but also a perfect expression of what it is like to be saved. I feel the holy spirit rest on me every time I hear this song.
To Half Alive I say bravo, and keep going.
God bless.
This video will remind me a lot of the movie 'The Lion King'
I will cry every time i watch it.
Edit: yes, i'm crying right now.
half·alive Brasil I see what ur saying...
I showed this to a friend of mine recently, we share music all the time. He actually cried, and it's a perfect reaction to how this makes me and so many others feel. This is a beautiful masterpiece, which I think everybody should experience at least once in their lives.
The raw passion and love felt in this song. It's what I go to church every Christmas for. On that day, there is nothing but love and support for people that're in pain or in need regardless of who or what they are.
This is the best of what Christianity has to offer. Unconditional love for all of humanity, because if God created us as part of it's plan; then are we not by definition 'Divine'? Are we not holy? Is each human being not a work of artistic genius? This is why I'm Christian. These questions that this song makes me remember.
This band and song is a Christian band and even though I am not I find it so beautiful. I actually got introduced to the song on spotify because it has that whimsical fae like feel I usually go for but didn't really listen to it until it started showing up on TikTok. Members of the LGBTQ community were talking about this and the feeling it invokes.
I love when music means multiple things and I appreciate this song for both meanings. The meaning the creators intended; their beliefs and devotion to them. A song to their god to embody how much it means to them. And for the meaning others who are usually against this original message. One of their body being art and beautiful and theirs to mold. Finding peace with who you were and are now.
I find even more beauty in how this song has managed to mean some much to two communities that are usually separate. That sense of shared unity in meaning is so inspiring.
Somehow you managed to make this song even more powerful and just- wow, I really love this
How th did someone already dislike this tho?
Personally I love the song, and wouldn't ever dislike it. That being said, I think the message is overtly religious, and a lot of people aren't into that at all. Also, this would be on RUclips music, and some people just don't like this style of music and don't want it influencing the algorithm into giving them more like it because they listened to it.
The writing is so dense it took a few listens to get to what this song is about. Holy moly.
This is way better then songs that are "christian" but really just yell God's name over and over again. This feels genuine, as a Traditional Catholic this means a lot to me.
I absolutely love that you guys are continuing to take risks and try new things. I wouldn't want you to feel pressure to constantly innovate, but I love your distinct style in any form it takes.
I'm glad you decided to capitalize on the usage of the orchestra when composing this song, and it fits really well with the mood of the melody. Even though there was a lot going on at any given time, it never felt cluttered or overwhelming; everything complemented each other really well, and is a testament to whoever mixed it. I can easily picture this song in an uplifting indie movie, or a road trip montage. :)
While the "live" format can be unforgiving, I still like hearing it. Helps me feel like I'm seeing a live show, which something I've been missing these last couple of months. Thank you for making this!
That part at the end when the swing rhythm of the vocals crosses with the oom-pha rhythm of the orchestra is so cool!
This version makes me cry, how can it be so delicate yet powerful at the same time ❤️
The last part has one of my favorite bass beats, because it's reminiscent of a heartbeat. I can feel the soul that's put into this.
This is just such a moving adaptation of this song. I love this band. I love Him.
I still don't get why isn't your music more popular. Your songs are so alive and so groovy and just good all around. I am looking forward for your next releases.
This will be absolutely gorgeous
