lyrics:
look inside me and see that i am not afraid
to walk inside the void like a kid inside a cave
discovering the patterns of my soul & where it’s placed
i’ve been mapping many caverns but it still feels like a maze
i know i’m made of clay that’s worn
blinded by imperfect form
but i will trust the artist molding me
i am creation both haunted & holy
made in glory
even the depths of the night can not blind me
when you guide me
creature only
look inside my heart & find a perilous ravine
carved within the beauty- the darkness in between
standing in the balance of complete & incomplete
i identify the echo of what is and what will be
i know i’m made of clay that’s worn
blinded by imperfect form
but i will trust the artist molding me
in a room that’s growing dim
illuminated from within
the pull of tension’s empathy
i am creation both haunted & holy
made in glory
even the depths of the night can not blind me
when you guide me
creature only
growing through the creature here
i’m trying to see when it’s unclear
hidden in the space between
the hero & the enemy
early days & sleepless nights
death & resurrection life
my body is a sacred note
sung between the flesh & hope
my dirt transformed within a breath
before i took a single step
i’m looking forward to the day
when life can grow without decay
humanity is not alone
when jesus christ sits on the throne
these hidden mirrors expose the mess
the selfish turns to selflessness
haunting by a darker side
transcends to walking in the light
& slowly i’m recovering
the beauty of discovery
i mean, that amount of glory does sound reasonably glorious…

That's a great name for a Album!. Ironic
I didn't realize this was a Christian song until he sang about Jesus Christ sitting on a throne. And yet, there's so much reverence and love in each and every note sung, kind of funny how I didn't realize it until then. Wish more Christian music was like this, I might actually listen to it.
Also hi to everyone else who found this band from a Philza pmv.
Ayo I'm here from the Phil vid

as an atheist, this song is the feeling of living with hope of great things. Really amazing what half alive was able to do here, i really love it
It's truly fascinating how this song manages to touch even us who don't believe in god, it's just that good. It doesn't feel like trying to make everyone share your beliefs but simply a celebration of life as it is and that's something everyone can support.
Jesus Christ could just be symbolism for that "creature" that holds up your mood and attitude. I mean there aren't any other references to him after all.
Yeah, it really is more a song of wonder and glory than it is God- God just so happens to be the way half-alive does it, hahaha

I am creation both haunted and holy

There is no way to heaven but for the son. I see so many lost folks here that have not read what the gospels and epistles really say. The new king James and 1299 geneva are readable and reasonable. If you want proof I have much but you must live for love and not self.
A relationship with God builds, religion destroys. That's how I've always viewed it as. Christianity was never built to be full of rituals and exclusivity. Jesus leveled the playing field for everyone. Humanity ran with this and skewed the original intent. This song is what it truly means to have a relationship with God. It is theologically accurate! Well done Half Alive.
This is actually incredible. I'm a Christian but I didn't eve realize that you guys were. I can truthfully say that this song is THE ONLY example of good quality Christian-based music I've heard in my life.

„I am creation both haunted and holy

Is such a wonderful line
So powerful, too. It makes me get over hypocrites I’m very mad at
This is the kind of Christian music the world needs; not in your face at all to the point where you wouldn’t even know, an absolute bop (believer or not), but still with that awesome message
Also “I am creation, both haunted and holy.”
Such a good line
Agreed. Modern Christians seem to have heard, "Look at God's beautiful creation," and "You are fearfully and wonderfully made," to the point they practically get blinded to it and take it completely for granted. This is mature Christian music, where both the words and music were written artfully with purpose and meaning.
how does a song make you feel so big yet so small at the same time
Because the song is about God's love for you, you, a small, mortal, powerless being, and the God of the universe, the one who made everything, cares about you, you might be a human, but the one who made everything cares about you, that's why
Because we are. We're the biggest thing to have taken over the planet. We're everywhere, even in places where it's hard to exist. But we're also so utterly alone in space. It's just us on this tiny blue dot in an ever expanding universe. We're so small but we're so big.
That’s also how it feels when you spend time with God. You feel so big and you sense yourself so well, yet in comparison to the God of the universe, you feel tiny… and you’re ok with that
this is the best and most accurate way to describe this song
your body is so small yet your connection to life is so huge, apart of a whole network

God loves you as you are. Just recieve Jesus, he's the one that works on our hearts and sin.
The word of God says "All men have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God"... "there's not a single person who is good"...
God is our enabler. He loves you and wants you just as you are. You can never change yourself. "Without Christ nothing can ever be done"... and that's the truth.
The freedom, stability, healing and love you experience in finding salvation is truly remarkable... None like it.

To love is one thing to support is another. God loves ALL Gay people, but he hates sin. Only he can help us walk in Holiness and Righteousness through his son Jesus Christ. Recently I’ve not enjoyed church as much, I didn’t know this was a Christian song because of the abundant lack of references to Jesus or some other famous person from the Bible- still gonna listen to this because it’s a bop
You know, sometimes you can see the Hand of God even when he's not explicitly mentioned in a song. There are so many good Christian artists that don't even mention anyone in the Bible by name and yet you still know what's it about (The Oh Hellos especially)
Jesus is mentioned at 4:10 - 4:30 ☺

This is hands down the best "Christian" album I've ever heard. Quotes around Christian, because it doesn't even sound like it. Now, Not Yet transcends genres, isn't hastily crafted together to push a repetitive message, and has thoughtful, introspective lyrics. This might very well be my favorite album of all time. Period. Welcome to beautiful Now, Not Yet. ]\[
Song Theory it’s not a Christian album
@@jodahobnob1973 It's definitely a Christian album. And that's what's so great about it. Most people won't realize unless they look hard enough.
One of the final lines of this song is "Humanity is not alone when Jesus Christ sits on the throne."
"My dirt transformed within a breath, before I took a single step" is a reference to the creation of man in Genesis.
"I'm looking forward to the day when life can grow without decay" is a reference to heaven.
There's plenty of other Christian quotes to find if you look through the album's lyrics, and there several direct references to God.
Have y’all read the Psalms? Poetic and introspective. Unlike most christian music these days, these guys actually have a similar approach to writers of the Bible.
I don't think its fair to call this a "christian album" I think its just a regular album made by christian people. obviously god will be a large inspirational factor to all this bands music. out of the 12 songs on this album, this is really the only song that can be related to their religion from a reasonable viewing of the lyrics. there are obviously hints to Christianity sprinkled around the album. but like I said before. of course that's the case *because* their Christians, their going to write about their beliefs in any context they want. this album is a bundle of the bands creativeness with many themes and beliefs, just calling it a "Christian" album doesn't serve justice to every other topic they touched upon. as a Christian myself I agree with everything else you said though! its really beautiful that they shared Jesus in such an artistic way. this is defiantly one of my favorite albums for sure.
My whole problem with christians (I am one by the way) is so often we sacrifice creativity and excellence to shove christ in people's faces as if thats going to help make them believe. Except that thats the opposite of what we are told to do and it annoys me so much.
As somebody who has a lot of issues with religious people due to personal issues and really doesn’t understand religion period, this song is beautiful! You’re actually able to express how it feels to be religious to you and it helps me understand how it feels for some. I may not be religious, but I love the song!
Im not religious, I turned away from the church many years ago. But this makes me feel ok. It doesn't disturb me, it makes me feel safe, open. It reminds me of faith, even if my faith is not neccesarily towards god now, it is still a beautiful feeling.
The thing I've been looking at for a few years now "A Secret" (sorry makes me smile) is that my history major, minors in philosophy and English Lit and a very very sub in Linguistics... this same "story" has been told for the entire human race. Every culture has to greater or lesser degrees held the altruistic spirit to the highest of our morals, yes of course there have been brief exceptions but when you... go nuts and read EVERYTHING, from every continent and era, you find that there's this painful legal morality that's been created to protect the innocent,. And also this deep spiritual reality that's designed to teach us about love or God or divinity.
And neither of those are religion, religion is more like the stuff we're taught as children to begin our understanding of the world we live in. Fear of punishment, promise of reward, so you learn respect for protecting yourself and respecting others. We're told "this is how you please God," but it never has much love in it, only rules, often odd ones.
Rules that hopefully you learned a long time ago, thanks to your parents and the natural world, of how to respect others, and what's good and what's wrong.
What is self, and what is love.
You don't need to be religious, the only thing you need is to be as sincere and honest with yourself and the entire world around you as you know it right this moment, with the hopeful open question as to where you can go from there.
I am so glad to have listened to this whole album. I enjoyed every song from it. The lyricism especially blew my mind away.
I listened to this song last, because of its length being the longest among the other songs. To hear such explicit profession of Christian faith surprised me, because as a Christian myself, I admit that I don't really listen to much Christian music. And to hear those affirming lyrics made me so, so happy (though I'm not sure why). I already speculated that the songs were about religion, and for that to be confirmed was cool.
Religion aside, I was so amazed by the album. Thanks, half•alive, for helping me forget about my cough for a while. I'm definitely going to play these songs again from time to time.
The majority of Christian songs I have to be in a mood to listen too, but Christian mixed with my favorite genres......Honey thats a whole BOP

this and The Oh Hellos do a fantastic job of non-preachy christian music that encompasses the light and dark sides of religion i think
Yesss! I’m an atheist but I love both those artists!!
this makes me think my own poems could actually be songs someday, thank you for raw beauty and not just hiding what you believe in your lyrics. Your music is composed around your words instead of trying to fill words in to a catchy beat. I share your songs often with whoever I can. Thank you for thoughtfully expressing the theme of inextinguishable hope, you guys are wonderful
Music is so much deeper then words to a catchy beat!!! I couldn't agree more with you! Your poems could totally turn into songs!
oh sweet lord clicking on still feel is my only accident i dont regret
I'm lying on my bed with my eyes closed listening to this on full volume
This songs take me away of this world, of this whole reality
It's like every felling i have turns into colour and sound
Like every fantasy comes real, i watch them as a movie, while I'm floating on a cloud, around all this colours and sounds
I feel like the glory of the Lord should drive all Christian artists to make music that is this deeply meaningful to their faith and has such beautiful introspection. I know there is a place for simple worship, but at like this truly makes me think and feel and worship intensely.
Christian fans are thriving right now. Thank you for this album!
YES!!
Yeah!
ikr lol
can agree its an awsome song
Can agree.

Being a person who is not a Christian, and also being a person with religious trauma, this song really makes me feel so warm and full of good vibes. They did an amazing job.
the best christian media is from those who do not only make God the center but also the music and the craft
The first time I listened to this song I cried, even just knowing that I share faith with a band that I look up to and adore encouraged me so much and made me so happy that it brought me to tears
Same! I loved them before, but when I heard this song I just got so happy and amazed at it!
Me too! Sharing the same faith with them is such a special connection, and really encouraging, like you said. I couldn't be more in love with half•alive! (not to mention Josh. . .) 😊
NO VIEWS THIS IS MY CHANCE
for what?
😂
this is sad tbh, we need more views
for what?
just to write a comment lmao
i do really love music like this, you can’t sing it in church but it means so much more than many gospel songs
As a Christian, I love that this band actually makes interesting and catchy music. So much Christian music is bland and over-repeated, but this sounds good.
Y‘all know the moment when you listen to a song and you immediately know: this will be my favorite song.
Thank you so much for this raw and faith filled song
Unrelated but, This song really fits Philza Minecraft and his Season 4 Hardcore World The Channel Without A Name made me realize this (She made a video with this song and it’s about Philza Minecraft and his Season 4 Hardcore World)
Hiii I came from there :DDD
Especially since the singing (3:05) matches the music the video of the whole Hardcore montage.
I’m here from that, but I’m also a Christian
@Silxnt Rvsesi No offense taken. We just came from the philza video and had it on mind. half•alive is freaking awesome and no one can argue otherwise.
LMAO so it's not just me from that PMV
quick edit: also remember to support the artist of the song and not only spam about Phil :D
Ah Philza Minecraft......
@Silxnt Rvsesi Hey man, I agree with you! But can we not be passive-aggressive please? /gen /nm
I’m so proud of you, guysss! I’ve been listen you since “the fall”, literally, your video had 1 week ago, LOVE UUUU SO MUCH
I absolutely love you guys. Your music. Your creativity. Your faith. I’m gon cry in the club, thank u for doing all you do.
I love the lyrics because sometimes we forget sometimes how scared of an experience just being alive is. We were all made in the image of God, yet we are corrupted, yet again we can choose glory and righteousness and that is such a beautiful thing. I haven't considered myself a Christain for a while, but I still consider myself religious, because in a world like this, how could you not be.
Listening to some banger music and reading arguments that happened mostly 2yrs ago is weirdly very comforting
The reason why this is great religious music is because it is personal and genuine. It doesn't preach or shame. It is about someone's relationship with their God and their beliefs and besides that, it is hopeful and bittersweet. It has beautiful message that everyone, no matter their beliefs can relate to. And it has a fantastic sound and melody.
yall make me feel less emotionally detached than i actually am
Holy, moood
I discovered this song when I was in a really dark place in my life, and it really reminded me that God is always there and I’m never alone and that I have a purpose. Thank you❤️
this song gets me everytime, i have felt so much closer too the lord through it
Waiting for an album since I heard “the fall”
Half Alive is the best band and needs more subs
dadza our beloved
Philza PMV pog
underrated song by an underrated band. i stan half•alive. if you don’t, what are you doing? stan this band, they’re so good and they 100% deserve it
This! Song! Is! So! Important!
This song has made me realize so much about my worth and my potential, as has the rest of the album. I struggle with a lot of feelings of self doubt, self hatred, and fear that I'm not good enough, and this song has reminded me to 'trust the artist' and to accept both my perfections and imperfections.
Also the vocals and production are amazing.
Seeing the comments come together over music, regardless of politics or beliefs.. this song is a miracle just for existing
I love how this song is universally loved across all religions and the like
This feels like common ground where everyone can agree that this song is amazing.
Really fills a sense of community within the half alive community
I haven’t cried over a song since “don’t panic”. The Christian themes in here were such a beautiful surprise I was scared to believe it at first. But when I knew for sure what I heard I was beaming and crying and I don’t remember the last time I felt so happy.
Only 20 seconds in and this sounds amazing!! Ly guys 💕
What a fantastic song. I'm not religious but I think anybody can relate to the message of duality, purpose, the overwhelming complexity with with life operates. It's a song of the heart to say the least
A lot of people are saying it’s odd they are enjoying this song about when there normally uncomfortable with Christianity or are of a different religion - But that’s what I think makes this song great , yes the writer is describing it through a Jesus loving lense but the song and most of the lyrics are showing a universal experience and a feeling we all innately share . As in this song fits well with my beliefs and they are pretty secular.
Other than the one line near the end , nothing about this song screams “ YALL WANT SOME JESUS JUICE” like how 99% of Christian music is - It’s a song about the human experience first and foremost , just the a bit of the Christian viewpoint for context
I am in love with this song. It perfectly encapsulates the feeling of pure happiness after deciding to give yourself completely to God. After having the realization that we are loved by Jesus Christ, that He is here, with us. Thank you so much for this words and for this music
God bless you
Thank you Lord 😊
LYRICS
As a pagan, this song really touched me. Instead of preaching and pounting fingers, it really talks about the experience of believing in something greater than yourself and how amazing it can be. This song might be christian, but it was written in a way that I guess practically anyone with their beliefs feel represented and serene. Great job! Looking foward to check other songs!
It's really good to hear Christian music that isnt overly-preachy or acting like jesus is the "only way." This is a special kind of a music, one that can unite people from all different backgrounds to relating in it. I mean, I'm not Christian but this song feels a lot like my journey to self-love as a trans person.
I genuinely think this song is some opposite sort of representation with how Christianity has molded into ironicy these days.
But yeah we need more inclusive Christian songs like this
You are trans? lmao
@@owakudojo1429 I understand, but the whole point of "christian music" is to glorify the Lord, and talk about Jesus and the Cross, his sacrifice and his love, which called all of us sinners to repent. I hope you meet Jesus one day, and be genuinely transformed by his grace and be reached by his love and simplicity. Bless you!
Jesus himself literally says He is the only way. You can't be a Christian and reject Jesus's direct words. Jesus is God and He is the only way men can be saved from their own sin. Which is amazing!!!
@@JackFoerster-Hunzicker I'm not Christian, did you even read my entire comment? Or did you just black out to preach in my replies?
I cannot express how impressed I am with this song. Combination of georgeous lyrics and great sound is something I’ve been searching for so so long. Simple thank you is still not enough!
also this song is really beautiful and the effects make it blend really nicely i swear they are getting better
“my body is a sacred note sung between the flesh and hope”
Gosh this song is beautiful
My Religious trauma loves this song. I don't associate it as a song about faith anymore, it just... Makes me feel happy hearing it.

I used to think that this song said creaturoli, like ravioli.
that amount of glory does, in fact, sound reasonably glorious.
this song just feels good to listen to. despite being atheist i can really feel the faith and love that this person have for their spirituality and if you ask me that is a very beautiful thing
Oh my gosh I'm going to kiss you I love finding comments from people who respect and share their beliefs it's great to be able to speak to people with respect regardless of what they believe
First the Fall to Creature, this album is absolutely beautiful and amazing, can’t wait for many more years of surprises and amazement
I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE. The Fall is the beginning of the Biblical narrative...and Creature is the outline of the modern-day Biblical narrative. That's really interesting.
Idc where you came from but can we all agree this is a epic song?
Didn't realise this was a religious song but as a non-religious person, this made me cry. I relate to this song so much because of my past. It's both crazy and inspiring how music can resonate with people beyond its original meaning
Me, a pagan, listening to this: don't look at me like that
Apollo's candle in the corner: traitor.
