What a wonderful rendition of this wonderful song. This is actually the first time I've heard it in its entirety and I couldn't be happier to hear it all. Thank you for sharing this glorious piece about the birth of our Saviour. God Bless, and again thank you for sharing
Before the marvel of this night Adoring, fold your wings and bow, Then tear the sky apart with light And with your news the world endow Proclaim the birth of Christ and peace That fear and death and sorrow cease Sing peace, sing peace, sing gift of peace Awake the sleeping world with song This is the day the Lord has made Assemble here, celestial throng In royal splendor come arrayed Give earth a glimpse of heavenly bliss A teasing taste of what they miss Sing bliss, sing bliss, sing endless bliss The love that we have always known One constant joy and endless light Now to the loveless world be shown Now break upon its deathly night Into one song compress the love That rules our universe above Sing love, sing love, sing God is love.
Most of what the choir does is a capella, but this is a special Christmas concert combining the entire school of music. It's kind of hard to do that without having an orchestra. Calm down, it's not that big of a deal.

absolutely amazing -- made me cry to list to it! thank you for sharing it
Wow, that a cappella entrance at 1:23 is absolutely stunning every time I listen. What a blessing. :)
Sublime and meaningful in this dark time.
@pleyel you are so right. They rose to the occasion with a beauty and sensitivity that is not easily duplicated.
One of my favorite Christmas songs! Beautiful!
Me too..........I simply love this song.
Ooo, nice dramatic pause at the very end!
So fabulous - crying happy tears! Merry Christmas!
Before the marvel of this night
Adoring,fold your wings and bow,
Then tear the sky apart with light
And with your news the world endow
Proclaim the birth of Christ and peace
That fear and death and sorrow cease
Sing peace, sing peace, sing gift of peace
Awake the sleeping world with song
This is the day the Lord has made
Assemble here, celestial throng
In royal splendor come arrayed
Give earth a glimpse of heavenly bliss
A teasing taste of what they miss
Sing bliss, sing bliss, sing endless bliss
The love that we have always known
One constant joy and endless light
Now to the loveless world be shown
Now break upon its deathly night
Into one song compress the love
That rules our universe above
Sing love, sing love, sing God is love.
Beautifully performed. Thank you.
The chord at 1:42 is stunning!
RIP music leader and composer Dr. Carl Schalk September 26, 1929--January 24, 2021.
I wasn't trying to imply that I was freaking out. I just found it humorous.

I'm engaged by the conductor's technique... who is the conductor, may I ask?
A capella choir with orchestra.....herm.
A capella doesn't mean unaccompanied. It means "in the style of the chapel."
