So beautiful! Our choir at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Versailles KY is singing this as our Palm Sunday anthem. We are all of an age to have known struggle and sadness (several have disabilities and family members who are suffering) and cannot get through this hymn without tears of gratitude and hope in the great truths here. ❤
Come, ye disconsolate, where'er ye languish;
come to the mercy seat,
fervently kneel.
"Here bring your wounded heart,
here tell your anguish;
earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
"Joy of the desolate,
light of the straying,
hope of the penitent,
fadeless and pure!
"Here speaks the Comforter,
tenderly saying,
"Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot cure."
"Here see the bread of life;
see waters flowing
forth from the throne of God,
pure from above.
"Come to the feast of God;
come, ever knowing
earth has no sorrow
earth has No sorrow
earth has NO sorrow
but heaven can remove."
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I picked this song to be sung as a congregational hymn at my dad's funeral which was held a few days ago. I grew up singing this hymn in church in the 1970s which was sung whenever it was announced that someone in church had passed away. Thank you for this recording. It is beautiful and sounds so much like the church choirs I grew up hearing in church. This song brings much consolation to those of us grieving.
Terre Johnson's arrangement of Come Ye Disconsolate is my favorite. Vestavia Hills Baptist Church is so fortunate to have him as Minister of Music!
No longer disconsolate, but consoled by the HOLY SPIRIT----ALLELUIA♡♡♡perfect hymn for September 11, 2022☆☆☆
Excellent. What a great message!
Extremely beautiful.
That is very truth, there is nothing that Jesus Christ sacrifice can not remove! Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal! Amen.
True! And we just sang it at church this morning.
Indeed Earth no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal
That was beautiful
Amen!!!
Absolutely stunning. Well done Baylor A Cappella Choir. What beautiful talent and incredible work
I guessed this not accapela after all
Thank you for this moving piece.
Over and over and over - repeat - to get through childhood trauma. 🙏
I just heard this from Holy Spirit, and wow, we NEED to kneel at the Mercy Seat!
"Baylor A Cappella Choir (Men) - Come Ye Disconsolate - Johnson ." What a Beautiful Choire they are, I love it. I will song tomorrow in japanese church choir MISAKI-CHO.
素直で、気取らない歌い方に好感が持てますね。三崎町も男声合唱しましょうね。
😭😭
Spectacular!!
❤❤❤
thank you and God bless
Beautiful setting.
Excellent rendition.
Beautiful. Excellent singing and arranging. Thanks for posting.
That's very nice - never heard it before !
Beautiful!
You have to have should to sing this song. Flack and Hathaway.
Great vocals on an obscure hymn!"
hyphenated08- touche touche.
Loved to hear him talk!His voice was truly sexy ,singing not so much but what a MAN!❤
Doesn't a capella mean no instrumental accompaniment?
Wow, thank you for catching that and taking the time to point it out. Especially in reference to this superb performance.They are an A Capella Choir that in this case are performing with a piano. In my opinion It is a wonderful addition that enhances the performance. Katie and Hyphenugle ,get a life !
A cappella choir with accompaniment?
That’s hardly the point - do we ever hear anything as beautiful as this?
Well sung. But why is an acapella choir singing to the accompaniment of a piano?
Too bad it’s not an A Capella choir. PIANO!!!
Well done but tempo too slow.
The tempo is absolutely perfect for the song.It lends it a reverence and solemnity that would be missing were it played at a.fastet pace. This is a superb performance.
Concur. None of us will ever hear anything better than this.❤ #Helovesusforever
Lots of good sounds but a few singers need to round their vowels.
Come, ye disconsolate
1 Come, ye disconsolate, where'er ye languish,
Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel.
Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish;
Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
2 Joy of the desolate, light of the straying,
Hope of the penitent, fadeless and pure!
Here speaks the comforter, tenderly saying,
earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot cure.
3 Here see the bread of life; see waters flowing
forth from the throne of God, pure from above.
Come to the feast prepared; come, ever knowing
earth has no sorrows but heaven cannot remove.
I said, earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot cure
