LaVine from 2020-2023 averaged like 26 5 and 5 on elite efficiency and made two All-Star teams but one injured down year and suddenly ESPN thinks he’s 74th best player and worse than Josh Hart 🤦♂️
Lamelo Ball was an All-star at age 20. He was actually ahead of Edwards in many ways. Then he gets hurt for two years. Now his game is suspect. It was the same thing when Hayward was here. I have seen this again and again. Hurt players pay a big price. People get frustrated with them. Then they start to apply it to their game. It is weird. It is like they have no memory. It is not right.
hoping for Lonzo to be able to play again. Gabe landeskog, captain of the Colorado avalanche, had the same procedure that Lonzo did and may return to hockey this year after missing two seasons. fingers crossed for both.
I am so glad Josh Minott got some appreciation, Jaden McDaniels always accused Josh of trying to be like him and all of the sudden Josh is getting more and more like McDaniels in the best ways possible
Bontemps is so committed to being on OKC’s jock. Previously he said that OKC had a weakness that was addressed by the Hartenstein signing. Now, he’s saying the Hartenstein signing was merely a luxury. It’s perplexing that the flawed backwards induction is put forth like it’s not flawed. Good grief. Be principled in your analysis, please.
He's a luxury in that they signed him for free / Haywards contract which left their books. Okcs core is pretty much intact but they added a good starting centre to their roster so I would agree it is a luxury position to be.
It was a "luxury" because he was only added to make them match up better against Dallas and maybe Denver. Hartenstein is a playoff addition, They had the 1 seed without him and lost nothing. They just needed more rebounding for specific matchups
@@derekbrown3447 Ugh. I have zero desire to argue with you the difference between what a "luxury" is and what a "need" is, but if you "need" something, then it is not a luxury. A need is a binary. A luxury is something on the scale of the positive end of that binary.

Funny, I feel the same about KAT. I am really intrigued to hear these clowns talk about KAT this season. His stats will be almost identical to his Wolves number. The dude is consistent af. But just watch, with the Knicks competing at the top of the East, the tone will change on KAT.

Wizards are perfect team for Lavine. They get a former/borderline all star player to boost their ticket sales. All while him not being a winning player so the wizards can still stink it up to attempt to get Flagg or a high level prospect in the draft by being a bad team. Win/Win.
No one can be remotely surprised PG got hurt already. This is exactly what anybody with a brain predicted the moment the trade happened. Now Embiid will take the heavier load while PG is out which will lead to another Embiid injury. Its almost guaranteed
The Nuggets were forced to give max. Teams today give max contracts to main key players on their teams. Murrays leverage was he could leave go to home town of Toronto!!
No impacts to winning but helped the team get to the play in year 2… empty stats but if you actually watch and follow the team you would know we’ve been plagued with injuries….
Yea its funny how everyone forgets the two years he was healthy they went to the play-in and the two years he played less than 40 games the Hornets suck
There are way too many players making max money that shouldn’t be. The league always creates these issues because owners want it all but immediately have buyer’s remorse. Stop handing out extensions to guys that aren’t even all star level players. They’re really going to need to reevaluate the pay scale because no one should be making more than guys that are MVP, FMVP and All NBA. But there are guys that do. Bron, Steph, KD, Joker and Giannis. Then everyone else are a pay tier below.
Nba is really the only sport that needs to scrap the cba and make new rules .... The cap is implemented horribly, max vs mid level stuff is implemented horribly , etc ....
I think OKC made a mistake giving Hartenstein that much money. There is no way other were offering him $25 million a year. He can't stretch the floor, he's not a notable inside scorer, he is an average rim protector at best, and a decent rebounder. Zubac is better and doesn't make anything near that...
Its obviously an overpay, but okc doesn't really care and they kinda had to spend the money cuz they would fall below the minimum I think. The contract is a total non-issue as okc is still well under the second apron, and by the time they have to give extensions to guys like j dub and chet, they will have a team option as per the contract to let ihart go and not pay him in the final year of the deal. Its a mistake for most other teams to give that kinda contract to that kinda player but not for okc. Also ihart fits their team needs very well. All they need from him is his solid rebounding, defense at the 4/5, some playmaking in the short roll, and overall hustle and grind all of which okc was lacking.
It is more money than he is worth, but signing him doesn’t even put them over the salary cap, let alone the first or second apron, and his contract doesn’t interfere with extending J-dubs and Chet. There is literally no negative to signing him, because he can also be used as salary filler on the off chance they want to trade for a big name, which probably won’t happen anyway
They probably wanted a short term contract to rent their cap space effectively. They know they can't secure him long term with Chet and Williams getting maxed out inevitably
@@mambaASI you're probably right. The more I think about it, Hartenstein's market was probably a 3 year-$60 million and he got that in 2 years with this contract...
