My aunt and uncle went to see Elvis at the Boston Garden in 1972 or 73. My uncle dropped off my aunt and their friends at the entrance while he went to park. He parked the car and on his way he saw a long stretch limousine. My uncle went around it after it stopped. He bumped into one of the people getting out of the limo and he apologized. The voice said "No worries, man." He looked up and realized he bumped into Elvis, who patted my uncle's shoulder.

My mom has his autograph. Our cousin was stationed in Germany with Elvis. One day his Jeep broke down and along came another Jeep with no other than Elvis in it. He gave my cousin a ride back to camp (I guess) and he asked him for his autograph for his 13 year old cousin (my mom). Elvis obliged. Just for those that didn't know...the Quote "Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building." This was announced after each live show Elvis did obviously once he had actually left the building. This was stated to the audiences because they would remain there cheering with a standing ovation in hopes of him coming back out to perform an encore. Artists typically will come back out after five or ten minutes and do another number for the cheering crowd. Elvis never did an encore. Hence the now world renown informative statement..."Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building." If translated to a modern day sort of meaning..."Ladies and gentlemen...stop clapping and screaming...go home...for real...he left...show's over." When Elvis left the stage...that's it. Nobody does that but him. Kind of a cool calling card. I was born in May 1970 so Elvis wasn't exactly my cup of tea. As I grew up playing guitar for 42 years now and having experienced many live performances of music in person and through video. I recognize all the influence that is his that covers the entire industry. People like to use the word Legend for so many performers and entertainers and groups but I kind of see it like this. Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhodes, The Beatles, Hendrix, Sinatra, Streisand, Garland, Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly etc. All icons. Legend? Unquestionably Elvis.

He was sweating so badly while just sitting at the piano. The sweat was running into his eyes and drops were caught by his eyelashes. It was so sad. I don’t know why his loved ones didn’t even try to get him help. They shot him up with speed just to get him on the stage but he still needed help. I’ve read every book written about him. When the same things were written in multiple books y different people who were there, then I believed that. The rest I tossed out as fabricated. I’ll never forget the day he died. I was in The Smoky Mountains and had to pull over to cry. His doctor should have went to prison and his enablers should be shunned. Instead, all his enablers wrote tell all books and continued to live off of him.

The hand signs Elvis was doing was a version of the Tiger Claw, it looks like, which is also part of the Salute of the Ed Parker American Kenpo Karate schools that is performed when addressing the Master in the Dojo or school and also when entering and leaving the fighting mat or ring during tournament matches or when sparring in class.
In the "Thumbnail" for this video you see a man to the left on screen, that is the late Grand Master Mr. Ed Parker Sr. who was the first person to break tradition of the Okinawa School of Karate by teaching white and non Asian students Karate in the United States. Elvis became a student and Ed Parker was his master, Bodyguard and mentor. Some of the first generation black belt students of Mr. Parker were also Elvis bodyguards. A couple of those black belts were my instructors in the late 1970s early 1980s . Ed Parker also founded the world famous Long Beach International Karate Tournament where Bruce Lee fought and Mr. Parker appeared in Bruce Lee movies and other well known films during the 1960s and '70s. Elvis loved Karate and used forms and Katas in his stage moves, like punches and kicks.

@@joshualevelle3886 --- I think you are correct about that. But I'm not talking about Japanese Karate, I'm talking about Okinawa, which is still Japanese, until you talk to anyone from Japan or Okinawa. Okinawa is almost its own country in the minds of the Japanese people.
I don't have time to go into the history of Okinawa, its people, and the history of martial arts in Okinawa and the differences between traditions in society and in the Karate that developed on Okinawa, and those same things in Japan at that time and for 1000 years prior. But, you may want to check it out.
I'm not claining to be an expert or even very knowledgeable about this, I'm just going on what I do know and from stories told to me by my instructors who are the first generation black belts of the late Grand Master, of American Kenpo Karate, Mr. Ed Parker Sr. . Of those instructors of mine, the Master at the school I trained at was Mr. Chuck Sullivan, who after the passing of Mr. Parker, became the new Grand Master of American Kenpo Karate. I've had the pleasure and honor to have Dan Inosanto, Steve Sanders, and other legends instruct and train (very lightly) with me and the other black belts in our school. Mr. Inosanto gave us a Win Chung machine or dummy to have in our school.
I'm sure you've heard of Mr.'s Inosanto, Sanders, and Sullivan. If not, you may like reading about these men. There are other instructors who taught at the school that if you look up under the first generation of black belt students of Mr.Parker you'll find interesting. Look up the school called Karate Connection, owned by Vic La Rux, that is where I trained before they went all commercial and doing training from DVDs and other things I didn't really like.

      It really was.
Even though I was so young, I could feel that this was a once in a lifetime experience and I was very lucky to be there.
I have very vivid memories of the powerful music and his voice- so incredible, despite what many now say.

Me too... I was born shortly before he passed and that piece of information was one of my first memories. My mom was due on August 16th 1977.... It was a hot and humid summer and she was sick of being pregnant so all of her friends got together and told her to try jumping up and down, the rode the city bus all over town .. lol ..... But nothing made her labor pains start. The next morning, August 8, 1977 my mom woke up and she said that she felt weird but really didn't know why..... Well in a few hours she knew why lol.... I was born the morning of August 8th. When Elvis passed my mom took it as hard as she would have had he actually been family. She was devastated. She put his records away and for years..... years! She could never listen to another song of his. Then when I was 4, on the anniversary of his death she opened the box and slowly took out all of her records. 1 by 1 she played each and everyone as she cried herself dry. I remember seeing her so sad and not understanding why. Finally she called me over and sat me on her lap and she said, " I tha k God everyday that you decided to come early. I don't know if my heart could of handled the best day of my life happening on the same day that I got my first heartbreak.....sometimes you just got thank the lord for the little things he does that you never asked for...... I want you to listen to these with me and tell me what you think.". And I did.... I cried during some songs because his heartbreak felt like my own..... I laughed along listening to a live album..... It was like he was in the room and man, he was charismatic!!! And I vowed that I would never fall in love unless they could make me feel the way I felt when I heard Elvis sing about love....... And I didn't until I met my high school sweetheart, my husband of 30 years. When I fell for him, I finally felt the kind of love the only Elvis Presley could sing about and that love has never wavered........ Elvis inspired people long after his body left the mortal realm- his spirit, his legacy, and his talent were and will always be.....evermore..,

You and me both Pamela. 👍 It's so amazing how much our dads love Elvis Presley. When ALOHA FROM HAWAII hit the record store shelves my mom, myself, and brother were camping with my grandparents. My dad and my uncle, both of whom were and still literally are Elvis super fans, stayed behind because they both had to work, but came up the next day to our campsite. Ok so brace yourself Pamela and make sure your bladder is empty because it's gonna get good !!! LMFAOOOOOO. Ok so both my dad and uncle were off work. My dad got the beer and the ALOHA FROM HAWAII record, and my uncle brought flashlights and batteries. They put on their own FLASHLIGHT ELVIS concert...They took turns all night. One was Elvis and one held the flashlights to give the spotlight effect.then they'd switch. They each had towels tied around the neck like a cape like Elvis did. The funniest part of ALL this Pamela is this took place in the 1970's. I was 5 years old or so when this happened...my dad barely told me all this less than 10 years ago or so. My uncle is no longer with us. He was riding his bike and was hit by a car. Died instantly. I'm sorry for babbling on and on. @TTaylor I love Elvis, but I'm not going to lie, unfortunately Elvis's prescription drug usage caused his metabolism to shut down, which also caused massive weight gain. If you look at Elvis in his jump suits during the early 1970s, he looked extremely good, fit and trim. Elvis went from a trim 165 pounds in the early 1970s to a massive 240 pounds by 1977. Resurfaced article claims Elvis Presley was a pedophile, rapist
News piece quotes 'Elvis Presley: A Southern Life', in which the author wrote singer had girlfriends as young as 14…. The King of Rock and Roll Elvis Presley was a pedophile and had girlfriends as young as 14 while he was on tour at age 22, it has now been revealed in a book.
Author Joel Williamson shared Elvis kept a group of three 14-year-old girls with him on the tour who were up "for pillow fights, tickling, kissing and cuddling", Vice reported in a 2016 article, which recently resurfaced.
In Elvis Presley: A Southern Life, Williamson also alleged that Elvis cheated on his 15-year-old girlfriend Dixie Locke when he was 19. Dixie and Elvis dated between early 1953 and October 1955.
He writes, "There had been a river of sex before, now there was a flood." From 1958 until his death in 1977, he always needed a woman or girl in bed.
Williamson also claims Elvis was "obsessed with virginity", sleeping with two 26-year-old self-proclaimed virgins in August 1970.
Priscilla eventually cheated on Elvis, and according to her book, Child Bride: The Untold Story of Priscilla Beaulieu Presley, she told him of the affair.
When she arrived in Memphis to announce she was no longer in love with him and was separating, he went into a jealous rage and raped her. She writes that Elvis grabbed her and "forcefully made love" to her, saying, "This is how a real man makes love to his woman." The duo separated in 1972 and got divorced a year later.
"Thus, the love affair between Elvis and Priscilla ended, ignominiously, with spousal rape," the book noted…..🙄🙄😬😤🤔🤔

Never was a big fan of Elvis but as years went by, I started being more interested in him. I’ve watched so many movies about him and saw his most recent in the theater. Colonel Parker used him for everything and anything. So did his father. It’s very sad how they exploited him for their own pockets. Elvis was extremely generous and a religious person. He was the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen in movies and his voice never cracked with age. He truly was the king of rock n roll and was truly blessed. As far as the hands go, couldn’t tell ya but I seriously doubt it was the 666 sign. Don’t read into this people. Besides my cousin is an Elvis freak and goes all over to see Elvis entertainers so I’ll ask her.

I saw Elvis in concert about 2-3 months before he passed away. My mother being a lifetime Elvis fan excitedly asked how the concert and Elvis was. I told her it was rather sad to me. He was horribly bloated and looked like death. I told her it wouldn't surprise me if he died soon. Sure enough he did, only a couple months later. It was really sad seeing him that way. A man who was referred to as "The King" reduced to such a poor state of health. People demanded so much of him. I really don't believe he would have done the drugs he did do, if it hadn't been to keep up with the overbearing demands of his fans. But I still remember the handsome, extremely talented young man he once was before he became basically owned by his fans. It's really sad what the showbiz and music industry can do to The most talented performers, singers and actors. Hope you're living large in the ever-after paradise and making beautiful music 🎶 🎵 for your Momma up above with you. Hopefully, your look-alike grandson is there with you too?!!

I totally agree with Kathryn Layfield. Elvis was one of a kind. He was down to earth WITH A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR and most of all selfless giving. His gospel songs were so ever-soothing with his velvety voice. His ALOHA FROM HAWAII concert via satellite all over the world was groundbreaking. He had a big loving heart for his family, friends, all of his audiences (that he lived to perform for), and especially to those in need. He was full of compassion and had a trusting nature. I TRULY believe with all of my heart that he had NO MALICE and let's not get started on his EXTREMELY GOOD LOOKS, full lips and those dreamy bedroom eyes. I've been goo-goo-eyed over him since I was 9 years old (over 50 years), and I guess I always will be until my dying day. I have watched all of his movies OVER and OVER and will continue to do so.. What a man! God bless his soul.

I certainly remember I that day, I'll never forget it.. My husband, and I, along with our kids were on our way home to Ca, from a vacation to Al. I had been outside Graceland a yr before that day while on vacation with just one of my daughters, one of my cousins, and her only kid, just to check it out.. But on this day and being so close, and my husband never being there, and while trying to surprise me, why not? WOW it was the BIGGEST surprise, and shock that I've ever had. When we got to the corner of Graceland the streets were full of people you could not drive through it and at that moment as we turn the corner the news came on and announced that Elvis Presley was dead. Talk about a shock it was the biggest shock of my life. The streets were so full of people there was no way to drive through without running over people so my husband, being the smart ass he is politely and jokingly said oh well I guess we don't have to go now and he flipped a u-turn and went back on the freeway. He said it jokingly but it was not a joke and I cried all the way home, and off and on for a few weeks. We've been back there since on our way to and fro home to Ala each time, and I always sign the wall around Graceland, and our kids and granddaughters have written their name on the wall at Graceland, and why not? All the kids on both sides of our family have learned to appreciate Elvis and they don't mind listening to him anymore in fact they expect it and nothing less! I almost forgot that our youngest granddaughter had to do a thousand word paper for school the 7th grade, her subject was Elvis Presley, and she cehose it on her own and she got all her information from her grandma, me I think it brought us closer together as if we weren't close enough bcuz you can never be too close to your family. We went in a loop around our neighborhood and went home. We turned on the TV and called my grandma….. I even remember what we had for dinner…. Salisbury steak TV dinners…. 💔💔💔

I'm a 58 year old, life long fan of Elvis. I was in the audience in Mobile Alabama when he performed his last concert. It was a humbling experience when he walked on stage and heartbreaking when he made his exit. I was just a teenager then and had every intention of stealing him away from whoever he was with as soon as I got a little older. You would have thought someone ripped my heart out the day he died. If I make it to Heaven, he's mine ❤
The whole world will miss him forever.

Elvis' last concert ever is being claimed by everyone. The unchained melody performance in Iowa claims it also. Elvis' last concert was June 26th 1977 at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana.

My dad took me to the concert in Mobile, he told me it was his last concert. I took his word for it then and I think I'll continue to take it now... right or wrong. It's not about where he stood on stage last for me, it's about how lucky I felt to be standing right in front of him. The moment was short, but his presence was powerful. It's a memory that's lasted my entire life and I wouldn't tarnish it by arguing over where he was seen in concert last. I'm just so happy that I got to see him ❤

My mother was at his last concert at Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, which was the greatest place to ever see a concert because of the acoustics. They placed a plack in remembrance of his last show after tearing the Arena down.

I waited for hours with my college roommate to buy tickets to see Elvis at The Myriad in Oklahoma City (Price:$12.50.) My roommate was a huge Elvis fan. I was a Beatle's fan and had not really spent much time listening to Elvis. But here we were two twenty year-old college guys waiting in line with hundreds of women. I was starting to like this Elvis idea. The show was electrifying. Yes, he was older, less animated and a bit puffy. But, I have never seen a person on stage more captivating and charismatic. He was a phenomenal entertainer and he sang with a unique passion. Elvis at 42 died a year later and my roommate unfortunately passed away around the same time at the age of 21. Elvis as an entertainer truly lived up to the hype. I've seen Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Mick Jagger, Prince, Justin Timberlake, Brittney Spears, etc. Elvis exuded a whole other level of charisma. One of a kind.

Probably the biggest musical legend ever to walk the planet! Its staggering to think about what he achieved in his life. He inspired me to get on stage and sing his songs to keep his memory alive! On a different note, I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when MJ walked through the pearly gates! #awkward!!😬

That was the night the final curtain came down. Then before we knew it, you were gone 💔 You may have left the building that night but you'll never ever ever ever leave our hearts. You reached that unreachable star. You are that beckoning candle you sang about and your flame will never ever go out. To your fans you were the impossible dream, that's why, even today ,when we hear your voice.. we cry, dance and shout. You'll always be the absolute best and even..as they laid you to rest, we knew that with each passing year our love for you would only grow stronger. Elvis, with you, we've loved, we've laughed and we've cried. Elvis, with your up coming birthday, I know you can see, I know you can feel . the millions of people.. worldwide, that are now friends.. because of you. We all stand United in memory.. of you. Happy Heavenly Birthday Elvis, we... will... remember... YOU !!! ❤❤❤

Backstage at good old MSA Market Square Arena. People in Indianapolis were still talking about this show when he died as it was just a few weeks before.
The King has his princess back now. 💙
