Only version I can hear in my head now, killed it as usual. So if water doesn't even touch the makeup, can't begin to imagine how long it took to take off
I'm beyond impressed that the beauticians three brought so much energy even Violet's haunting visage couldn't overshadow them.
The reinterpretation of the spare change verse was almost as chilling as the realization that I'm more uncomfortable with the onion garnish than the eye's...

Yeah, that's how my kids know it; from Shrek. The first movie came out when my son was about 3 I think. He literally watched that movie on repeat several times per day and practically had the whole movie memorized!
This used to play a lot on the radio back in the day... if you listened to the Alternative Rock stations. Pretty sure it's popularity is why it was in the movie Shrek... not that Shrek made it popular, except for the newer generations.

She always does covers in her own interpretation btw and not remakes.

I enjoy most of your stuff and I know I'll get backlash but if I'm being honest I wasn't a huge fan of this one. I know I'm one person and I'm not trying to bring you down by any means. Just giving some honest feedback. Don't stop doing what you do! You are amazing!
i have to agree. violet’s vocal abilities are so insanely next-level that she can/will kill it on anything she chooses to do, that’s a guarantee. however, this song choice felt to me rather uninspired and just kind of ‘meh’, obviously it’s not up to me or anyone else (except herself) what she chooses to cover, but in my opinion this felt more like a bland-ish straightforward “metal version” of the original track; similar to what leo from frog leap studio does (who i am a hug e fan of, so anyone reading this don’t misinterpret what i’m saying) but with significantly less transformative change in style or presentation.
the visuals/video were cool and i’m not hating whatsoever, i have watched violet’s stuff for years and years now and i get the sense from her non-music/personal videos that she’s not the sort of person to let some slight creative criticism (coming from genuine fans, mind you) bother her too much. if anything, she strikes me as the kind of girl who would appreciate our honesty and willingness to speak our minds.
I hope this was as fun to shoot as it is to watch. Love the spa workers/backup singers/dancers.
