I built a small gantry in my backyard to lift my 60 body onto its chassis.. its been a very useful addition to the yard ever since!

I did some pretty shadey shit to get the old chassis off. Don’t feel like repeating that!

Another great video mate well done, solid effort. I would have been lost as how to make the rear lower control arms 100% straight when diff goes up and down to avoid chewing out bushes. Looking forward to the next vids.

Thank you dude. I think I got them right. I’ll know eventually, when I start mincing bushes

    Congratulations on becoming a dad.
Not sure if you know but you can lift the body with an engine crane.
Lift with the crane from the seat and seatbelt mounts.

@@favouritejay I have seen it done on a fb page. I’m pretty sure they made a cross between the front passenger to rear drivers and front drivers to rear passenger seatbelt mounts. Then came in through the back wagon doors. Though I think it may be able to be lifted through a side rear door. Either way you’ll need another set of hands to help keep it level.
Best of luck to you and your partner on the birth of the little one 👍

i weighed the shell with front, all doors and tailgate minus all the seats and was around 850kg, had to use a gantree. Did it for a cab swap.
Nice clean shell you got there, rare these days.

I went down digging deep trying to understand how you can chop a 80 series chasis and thank god i came across your video.. the thing that got my head scratching is that most part of the chasis is bend at angle thus impossible to cut.. so my question is, is the part where you made the cut perfectly straight

    • @favouritejay
      @favouritejay  Год назад

Hi mate. Check out Mckinnons cruisers. He sells a kit and it comes with plans. There is a 40mm difference from top to bottom on the cut.

Was gonna say if your desperate I would move the cab to infront of the door way then you could strap it up to the car port roof and then wheel the chassis under it. Would be scetchy especially if the car port isn’t very strong

    • @favouritejay

Sadly, the roof is too west. But I have a solution!!

Where’d you get the plans from? Custom from an engineer or something online? Contemplating doing a similar build to this with my 60

    • @favouritejay

So my chassis plans came from Mckinnons cruiser where I purchased the kit from!

Nice 60 Series when it's done. What motor are you going to use in it?
