Dave Brock has been the singer for the Doors tribute band, Wild Child, for over 20 years. He's considered the best Doors tribute singer. Brock first got attention in college, when he got the lead role in The Jim Morrison Rock Opera, produced by Anne Morrison (Jim's Sister). He nearly landed the lead in Oliver Stone's film. Manzarek/Krieger wanted Brock, but were afraid to ask, thinking they be called a tribute band of themselves. After recent success of Journey, they finally hired Brock in 2010.
He doesn't sound like Jim at all, he's just a bit better than Joe Russo and other crappy imitators, but Brock remains a wanna-be, pale copy of Jim. On a technical level, Brock doesn't have anything of Jim's voice: no vibrato, no use of lung diaphragm, limited vocal range, zero charisma, etc.
rays using the vox organ again cool ray and robey sound great i always hate when people say jim was the band it was cause of all the guys is why i lisen to the doors i am a fan of all the 4 guys jim is great but the other guys are to
A great version really with Dave Brock but it bothers me a bit that we are down to using a tribute band singer here as good as he might be. Can not knock the guy's talent, however. Robbie is interesting showing that he took in tapping technique. I believe I have heard him say somewhere that he is/was a fan of Eddie. This added to an already unbelievable arsenal of harmonic tricks. Pretty awesome.
out of all these clowns tryna imitate jim hes the guy that sounds closest to jim :o well kinda.... :\ well at the beggining at least ( still not done watching it) lmao :P

This not a Vox.
Just an Alesis QS 6.2 inside the case of a Vox Continental.
