MIA! I had my first dental anatomy lecture Thursday and Whew! I’m glad I learned teeth names and numbers ahead of time lol I’ve been attuning all Saturday morning. I’m trying to figure out how I will organize my time to fit in work because I have to afford gas back and for. School like an hr from me. Aside from that visible body is a life saver. It’s making learning the surfaces cusps and fossae so easy!
Oh wow! I think for me, school was like 30-35min drive! I loved dental anatomy. It was my favorite class and basically the only class that made sense to me. I'm glad that it's coming along great for you!
I had this exact same experience in nursing school. I am introverted, different interests, lot of stuff was going on in my life, also wanted to get into a very specific specialty and got talked down about it. Well I got a new grad job in said specialty and I’m doing just fine… it’s no wonder the profession is full of bullies, it starts in school. And you did more than me, after 2nd semester I talked to almost no one went to class or stayed in my car until 10 minutes before, went to school or clinical and left immediately. I had an hour drive home… can’t relate to living down the street. I had a couple good friends and some that I talked to, the rest, I hope I don’t see in my career, because I don’t forget what some of these people have said and done. I remember I tried to hang out my first semester and they were like “We don’t want to study with you” after that I was fully done. Guess who was coming up to me all happy and giddy like my best friend on last days of school… I was FED up and gave her the cold shoulder. I get it’s a stressful time and maybe time I will forgive but want to know the only time I cried in nursing school? That… being rejected for trying my hardest to help people out and study with them.
Oh yea! That was insane. I have not had anyone tell me blatantly to my face that they didn't want to study with me. Nursing school is on a whole other level! I've heard crazy stories about women being in nursing school, and it's even worse in the hospital. I was a CNA on the floor and in the operating room; it was crazy, which made me switch to dentistry.
My school isn’t very helpful with scholarships. I asked during admissions, was told there not any and once I found out there were a few they had all closed. I was so pissed. Any advice on how I can find scholarships and grants. I really don’t want to work and continue this program. 😢
Do you feel like you have to be chatty now as an RDH? Yes I totally feel you on how annoying it was that each professor had a different grading criteria.

Did u have funds saved before u started school?
Well, going to dental hygiene school was an impulsive decision, soo I did not. However, I received scholarships to pay for my schooling.

I got a majority of my scholarships through my school. I found it difficult for my to find any outside of school
