- The Nametaker unique sword was first introduced to Path of Exile in patch 3.23 Affliction league as an exclusive Wildwood drop, and then reintroduced to the core unique drop pool in 3.24 Necropolis. Nametaker borrows a mechanic previously exclusive to Warcries: Enemy Power.

Not mentioned in the video: Intimidating Cry can be used to snapshot double damage for the duration of Rage Vortex of Berserking, a combination which can make Nametaker the superior option over Paradoxica in that build. However, many of the characters playing the build are using Ambush to cap critical strike chance, which prevents any other exerts so that Intimidating Cry cannot be used, thus the higher play rate with Paradoxica
LOL hey that's my profile! Yeah I loved Nametaker much better than Paradoxica. I could tank T17 Shav balls by leeching to max Life/ES/Mana every tick. And then she died and then I died.
Can consider using Akoya's Gaze with RVoB for the insta-leech, so you don't have to sacrifice Paradoxica. You would sacrifice helm slot though, but I am not too sure on how much power a rare would bring on RVoB builds relative to Akoya.
Mind of the Council gives up to 30% mana and 6% mana as flat lightning so it'll be very hard to give that up, though maybe for a strength-stacking build it'll be worth, except not because the double influenced rare is too strong
@@CTL It is indeed, such a cool build tbh. I think if you're okay with losing some damage, the instant leech is just incredible QoL

@@dreamcore_gg just throwing some ideas to you…harbinger uniques. Temple uniques(i know you did apeps). Berek rings(bereks respite) or the taming(idk if the taming is considered “forgotten” tho).

this thing was used for manastorm build. the build is quite satisfied i must say
It's not much of a plus - but Nametaker has much easier attribute requirements compared to Paradoxica - in a few specialized builds that may be a factor.
I'm currently using this on an accuracy stacker, as an attempt to find a good use for it. Neat to see it used elsewhere!

man love these videos, I love to learn about these to make variants to my builds, and as a MF player, I like to test all mf styles, and rage vortex of the berserking is definitely a top 1 MF i'll try next league.
I would suggest one thing, maybe a series of something along the lines of "WTF Interactions" where you analyze certain interactions that ocurrs in certain builds that can be used in others, such as wardloop builds, mana stacking (certain archetypes), perma ragevortex + ambush (mana stacking, manastorm, coc, etc), tainted pact builds, etc . I know theres videos explaning these mechanics, but the way you propose interactions and build ideas with this serie of uniques, could be also applied to interesting builds.

I wanted to make a build using this item this league and also realized the competition with Paradoxica. I figured that the solution would be to get double damage elsewhere, so I ended up going with Crest of Desire + Elemental Hit, which is flat damage to work nicely with Nametaker + scales well with gem level and quality.
I didnt push the build very hard but PoB did list Nametaker as the #1 dps weapon so I feel like I succeeded 😊
If you're going to harvest enchant this. attack speed is a lot better than crit chance. The crit from harvest enchants is additive with the local crit on the weapon.

Two adjustments I'd like made to this weapon to make it more competitive - give it a good attack speed mod, and change the inbuilt leech mods to apply to all attack damage rather than just physical attack damage. Will that make it good? Not really, but it'll make it decent and perhaps worth building around. 100% instant leech in boss fights is pretty amazing, so it'll make for a safer weapon to fight with. Attack speed doesn't just improve its damage, it also synergizes better with instant leech wherein you'll want to be hitting often.

Would love to see a video about the Harbinger Uniques. Except for The Torrent's Reclamation all of them are used on 5 or less chars, with The Shattered Divinity being used on no character at all. Regarding The Shattered Divinity I can see why noone uses it. But at least from what I read on the other Items I'd like to think that there could be some possible builds that may have some use for these Items. But then again, I'm only playing for half a year now and only got about 1.3k hours in the game
I actually use this one with the chaos str stacking boots. Dual wielding with the savior using ice crash. At 80 million DPS.

Don't worry about the relevance of the word "Forgotten", in terms of time passed since the item's inception. We're all well aware of what the intent is and what the core of series' theme is. And we love it!
with decend defend, huge pool of hp, mind over matter, high Attack speed and each damage deal minimum damage of leech cap, you get somewhat safe boss killer
Got a friend who uses this item with Elemental Hit Slayer, just weapon swaps for bosses since Slayer already gives good base crit, he just wants the 200% crit multi and instant leech. He knows there are better weapons, but Nametaker is cheap and effective enough.
Edit: Now that I think about it, he's literally not benefiting from Slayers overleech with this weapon huh?

@@dreamcore_gg Turns out he already switch to paradoxica lol. Nametaker needs a bit of work before anyone is really going to use it. It's not a good early weapon even because it requires a lot of investment in outside damage sources to justify it at all.
Can you talk about Cadigan's Crown?
It the only unique item that give you Battlemage keystone and don't locked you into a specific weapon or class.
I've failed try making a build using this many time now.

Thats a very cool sugestion as i also failed many times to make a build around it. But i think there must be something cool with it!
Never deal critical strikes for caster build is so devastating, lose EO is 40% more multi. Battlemage works only as inquis energy weapon and ceit onle. And dont forget, for battlemage you need weapon with insane p/e damage which is exclusive to prefixes. Prefixes have +2/+5 to level of gems. +2 weapon and EO will give you double damage. This is without even losing helmet slot. But helmet is so valuable in end game rn. 1alc uniq and no more.
Did a Seismic Trap build with it back in expedition using a staff with really good phys stats for poison. No idea if that works anymore though
@@Kardeell The solution to that is to use lightning damage with lucky lightning rolls from the Voice of the Storm amulet. Also, DoT builds never deal crits, so it's nice for them.
@@DAR0k88 So you want to lose helmet AND amulet. Thats why these builds are not working at all. Too much investment for nothing. You know, main problem with voice of the storm is shock, good crit will give more % damage from shock. Battlemage builds for dots? Any +1 statstick gives more. Main problem with this helmet: you sacrifice helmet, weapon, EO, crits for 500-1000 phy spell damage. This is ridicilious. And you want sacrifice amu too...
Yes, this one if a bit weird for sure. Those mods be ok for a manaforged arrow build if it wasn't a sword. Mostly because that would be a large amount of mana sustain. Super high life sustain is never required on a real build. But super high mana sustain is useful if you want to spend a lot of it fast.
So maybe huh, some mana attack build could use that. Could have been nice mods for a wand, because sure you could make a wander work like that. Then you also could do ele hit with it to get your base damage this way.
Not sure, but the most unique thing on this weapon is very fast mana recovery. Rest is not useful.
this unque is suffering from the same issue a lot of other uniques are suffering from. It has nice benefits but the downsides highly outweight them over just getting a rare item instead. Hopefully the filosophy around creating new uniques changes, most uniques require more res, more life and more useful mods
I think it's hard for them to continue to design compelling unique items in a game littered with them. However, Nametaker has the instant leech modifier which would be quite a niche power option if it wasn't for the fact that instant leech became very easy to acquire on any build recently - these sort of balance decisions undermine those modifiers, and further limit new unique design space.

I think even more particularly it’s a melee weapon without good DPS. It just doesnt work. The upside can be worth 300% more but if it has a tenth the damage of a good rare that’s worthless.
When you already have double or triple damage in your build, it outscales paradoxica obviously.
When ailments are your main source of damage and you use perfect agony, its obviously outscales paradoxica.
And those are just the two things that came to my mind during the video. Im sure there is more.
Yep, you can use Intimidating Cry in the build I showed in the video to snapshot DD for the duration, but most of those setups use Ambush to cap crit chance instead

Life stacker mele build woth rath pit globe shield? The phys comes from th3 support gems and the dmg increase from the shield via the eyes helmet (spell damage to attack). That build uses paradoxica tho haha

With the amount of uniques introduced each patch it's easy to forget
He literally mentions this at the start.
He both literally addresses that at the start, and there are already comments from people who admit they weren't aware of it. Nametaker was never part of the meta, so it isn't all that well known even by players who've been playing a long time.

That uniq has cool concept, but low base dps to work with, not really useful mods to play in a comfy way and heavily conditional based on that power mechanic, I maaaay suggest to massive boost the power mechanic but since it's melee

You absolutely could - you'd need to weigh the pros and cons of Nametaker vs other options but it's not a bad choice if you enjoy the QoL from having a lot of instant leech

My problem with this wepon is if you wana instant leech - Blood seeker is better with better base DPS
If you want sime instant leech mastery is good enough
only intresting sstat us crit multi per power wich again feels like way to low base damage to care
